Glenkilrie house is in a superb location and if you catch it on a clear night the stargazing is amazing. The accommodation is cosy and there is a communal lounge with a TV for all to enjoy, there is also a visitors book in this room which has collected comments from people all across the globe! Morag is a lovely host and cooks a great breakfast! The breakfast is generous and broad enough to cater to everyones preferences. The sanitary facilities are a little dated, but I believe that's part and parcel of staying at a property like this! Personally, it didn't sour my stay, everything functioned as intended, and I simply just went about my holiday business! I would stay here again if I were to holiday in the same area. If you decide to book a visit, look out for the red squirrels and woodpeckers!

Loved our stay at Glenkilrie House, a lovely house set in a beautiful location, modern facilities, clean, great breakfast and a great host. Would definitely recommend!

Arrived at the property & taken to a small outhouse, wasn’t provided a key to the main entrance, inside there was a corridor with 3 rooms, there was a pram in the corridor along with some clutter and a fridge, lady opened the door of our room without a key, and no key provided, once inside the room the smell of cigarette smoke hit me. Room was tiny, as was the en-suite, no shampoo or body wash in the shower cabinet only a cheap looking hand wash on the sink. Lady then went on to say “breakfast is at 8am, normally I give guests the option” but she was taking her grandkids swimming and had to leave at 9am. She said “milks in the fridge” if you need it for a coffee. Once she left I had a look in the fridge, there was a can of beer and a bottle of beer and no milk. Went back to the room and not a key insight. We’d payed £120 for the room, to be honest I’ve stayed in many a bed and breakfast and this was by far the worst I’d ever come across, we grabbed our bags and checked out within 10mins of checking in. We’d just climbed 16miles for charity in Glenshee and made the choice of driving 2hrs home rather than stay the night in that B&B.

We had a wonderful stay and Morag made us feel very welcome. We were attending a family wedding in the area. Glenkilrie House was an exceptional find. The surround areas and the views are stunning and the house is tastefully decorated. The accommodation is in a seperate wing of the house so peaceful with lovely views into the surrounding fields.

The loveliest host and the most amazing setting
The host was absolutely incredible, the room was so clean, amazing location for walking and hiking. Delicious breakfast. Beautifully set with the most stunning views.

Lovely house in beautiful surroundings. Comfortable en suite rooms with a super guest lounge adjacent. Excellent breakfast. Morag treated us to real Highland hospitality. Highly recommended!

Outi, I am very saddened to read your review of Glenkilrie as "terrible". I wonder if you could possibly tell me why you thought this as I have never had a comment such as this in the 33 years I have been operating B and B. I want all my guests to feel welcome and enjoy being in my family home and I will address any issues I think are justifiable for the benefit of future guests. I would appreciate your feedback. Quiet, friendly & great breakfast
Definitely stay here and not in Pitlochry. The town is pretty but very crowded and touristy. This place is quiet and the mountain air is clear. We got a lovely welcome, clean ensuite bedroom & guest sitting room. Good garden to sit out in the evening and a big tasty breakfast. Great place to start a tour of the Cairngorms.

Fantastic!
Fabulous location, equally fabulous accommodation, guest lounge, super friendly host and possibly the best sausages I've ever tasted. The tame pet deer who comes and eats toast from you hand was just the icing on the cake! Definitely worth visiting and we will be back.

Our stay was very good. Our host Morag was welcoming and friendly. She made tea and fresh warm scones for our arrival. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We are very glad we found this place.

Great place, just don't go in the depths of winter
Lovely place in the quiet coutryside. Only downside was the temperature outside was -6C and the heating went off at 21:00. Luckily we'd had a long day and so retired to bed. Apart from that everything else was very good.

Had a great stay
Very welcoming. Comfy bed, good shower and big fluffy towels. Lovely open fire in lounge. Freshly cooked breakfast was delicious. Only gripe, could use a small shelf in bathroom for toiletries.
