Full Apt with large kitchen across the street from the beach.

Summary:
800 sq ft Apt. The bedroom has a queen bed . There is a large pull-out couch in the living room. The unit has enough room for a couple in the bedroom with one extra person on the couch. Full kitchen and a small table with two chairs for dining. This guest suite now has AC in the bedroom window.
Birch Bay State park is a 5 min walk and public access to the beach is across the street.
Strong WiFi and a work-desk and work-chair in the unit for remote workers.

The Space:
Aside from the apt, the guests are welcome to use the laundry room and the deck and chairs around it.

Fellow guests will also be using shared spaces, so you will likely have opportunities to meet people.

Some folks like to launch their kayak from here onto the creek when the tide is high. And beach access is right across the street.

The Neighborhood:
Ours is a quiet neighborhood. Pets are welcome. We do request dogs to stay on leash since they will encounter one another on our property and when walking to the beach.

Birch bay is all about beach life: Strolling on the beach, kayaking, shell fish harvesting (in season) and going to the nearby restaurants. The food scene is small, but often includes live music. The beach side restaurants are about 2 miles north, where you'll also find a coffee shop with local arts and crafts for sale. Check online calendars for the many festivals throughout the year in Birch Bay, Blaine, and Semiahmoo For example, checkout the kite festival and the sand sculpture festival. We also enjoy old car shows, music, art, and food vendors.

Blaine is 10 minutes north and offers more restaurants, a grocery store, post office, a Starbucks, and fast food.

Getting Around:
Car is, of course, easiest.
However, bus 75 from Ferndale comes straight here and drops you off at the C Shop which is .6 of a mile from here.
Once you get here, you could make arrangements to borrow our bikes.
Food and groceries are a bike ride away. Also, see our guest book for the many ways to get restaurant food delivered as well as groceries, pet food, and even pharmacy items.
If you are exploring the islands, the Anacortes ferry terminal is about 1.5 hours from here.

Other Things to Note:
Some noise transmission is possible to and from adjoining unit. All guests are asked to respect the quiet hours from 10 pm - 8 am.

This unit has the potential to be rented along with the upper story unit. The adjoining door is at the base of the interior stairs. If a large group rents both units, you can mutually agree to open the door, but it must be unlocked from both sides.
