The exterior door near our room was unlocked meaning anyone could enter the hotel anytime day or night. The front desk did not have staff at reception-you had to call to request help or have someone come to the front desk. Our room had all the basics covered. The decor could a use a refresh, but it was clean which matters more imo. The property says it accepts dogs for $25 a night which is why we decided to stay there. There was no place on the reservation to state you would be traveling with a pet or the hotel's rule that you can’t leave your dog alone in the room. We let the property know we needed a pet friendly room when we preregistered, but the hotel said they didn’t receive the info. When we arrived, We were informed that if we left the pet in the room and people complained they would call the pound and have the dog removed. I get the feeling they have had issues in the past with guests and their dogs and have had to be heavy handed in response. We stayed a month at a Baymont in Florida this summer and the property and staff were so accommodating toward our pet it was just very surprising how this property reacted. If you are bringing a pet, I would call in advance. The low rating is predominantly because the lack of staff presence and unlocked and insecure entries.
