A bit “La Bohème meets Birkenstock”. Cute, artsy, but falling apart at the seams, sometimes ill-conceived but with good intentions. The staff was very sweet and helpful, the breakfast was good and plentyful. Nice conversations with perfect strangers from around the world (and beyond??? ;-)). All in all, very enjoyable.

The hotel is wonderful. The staff are amazing. The cafe is great, with free breakfast and really good food that can be purchased later on. There is always a vegetarian special. And guests are welcome to sit and work our read or play games without feeling 'in the way.' The rooms are clean and have air conditioning. And there is a water fountain with as much clean water as you want. The location on the stairs is great as it is possible to walk to museums, restaurants, shops, and sites. I would highly recommend staying at The Grand Meshmosh Hotel!! 💓

Hostel in perfect location
Cool hostel/hotel with excelent location and nice vibe. Friendly and helpful staff. Electricity and hot water 24/7. Things to improve: Wi-Fi and cleanliness of the toilets (cleaning once a day is not enough imo).

La propiedad no es un hotel habitual, tiene características de un hostal juvenil pero, recibe todo tipo de turismo y edades, se encuentra en un lugar muy conveniente y excelentemente bien ubicado, no es lujoso, tampoco moderno, es modesto pero cumple bastante bien con las expectativas, tiene un excelente desayuno y bar. la atención de la gente encargada, es inmejorable. Cuándo vuelva a Beirut, seguramente me hospedaré en ese mismo sitio.

Je recommande.
Très bon rapport qualité/prix pour un hôtel en plein Beyrouth. Chambre climatisée (sans bruit).Ne paye pas de mine mais suffisant pour qui veut seulement dormir. Très bonne literie. Sanitaires communs (pour la formule) mais toujours très propres. Enfin accueil hyper sympa. Très convivial. Parlent très bien le français. La bonne formule pour dormir pas cher à Beyrouth dans de bonnes conditions.

Hotel often praise their breakfast which needs to last until 10:30. But after 10:00 you cannot find anything for breakfast. Coffee also finishes and you need to wait 15 min for it. The guy who is supposed to serve breakfast was also rude. Please also beware most of the bedrooms have shared bathroom.

Dear Hasan, Thanks for the review. Please note the hotel has many private rooms with private bathrooms available when reserving ahead. Some suites are available too. You stayed in the shared dorms and then decided to stay 2 more nights. I thought you enjoyed your time here. Concerning breakfast, we tend to refill the table frequently with up to 15 different items. Also I have checked the surveillance cameras to check on the breakfast issue on the days you were here. There is one day when the table wasn't filled as much as it should have but there was definitely plenty for 2. The coffee machine takes 5 minutes to brew a new batch of coffee not 15 minutes. I am sorry if any member of the staff was rude. All employees of the hotel are recruited based on their kindness and the management makes sure every member of the staff always have a professional behavior.

The hotel was ok for us. But there were some issues which should be taken care of: The room and our bathroom in the room was not so clean. I think the hotel is not working with professionals for cleaning. The breakfast was very weak. Normally the breakfast ends at 10:30am but there remains almost nothing after 10. The staff doesn’t refill the tables in the buffet. The staff were very friendly and nice, except one person: the young guy, short-haired and with many tattoos. We thought that he hates working there. He didn’t want to do anything. During breakfast, he hardly gives new plates or refills the coffee machine or teapot. If these issues are fixed, I think it would become a much nicer hotel/hostel. The neighborhood, the stairs where the hotel is located are great. You feel Beirut inside.

Das Grand Mesh Mosh überzeugt durch seine liebevolle Einrichtung, die absolut charmanten und hilfsbereiten Mitarbeitenden und seine no-plastic-Policy! Absolut empfehlenswert. Toller Ort um sich von den Wirren Beiruts zu erholen.

Hotel Meshmosh
Friendly staff, excellent location in Beirut. No lift so a bit of a climb to the 3rd floor. Frequent powercuts during our stay which caused a bit of disruption, but seems to be common in the city at the moment. More accurately described as a hostel than a Grand Hotel, but perfectly acceptable for a short break.

Dear Jeffrey, Thanks a lot for the review. Indeed we are facing an increase in the power cuts and currently working working on installing our own power back-up generator to offer the best comfort to our guests. Regarding The Grand Meshmosh Hotel, it is a mix between a hotel and hostel and we don't pretend to be a palace. The pictures and rates we offer make that clear. In terms of guests servicing, we aim at being better than a palace. Thanks once again for choosing The Grand Meshmosh Hotel.

الاستقبال ممتاز وموظفين يجعلوك تشعر بالراحة الاوتيل جيد لكن اذا اغلق باب بأي طابق تسمعه في جميع الغرف ويجب ان يكون مخدم اكثر من ناحية الكهرباء ومن ناحية الامان لا تستطيع قفل الغرفة من الداخل اذا كان لدى اي شخص مفتاح يستطيع فتح الباب عليك يجب ان يكون هناك قفل اخر من الداخل ولكن الاوتيل بشكل عام جيد وسوف اعيد التجربة

The GMM is part hostel and part hotel. I booked a private room with a bathroom, and was very comfortable and well situated. The staff was friendly, helpful and very inviting, and I met so many fine people during my stay. The hotel has the warmth of a hostel with the amenities of a hotel, and the breakfast was excellent.

A fabulous and unexpected stopover
An unexpected stopover on the return from Kathmandu to London, the Grand Meshmosh was a fabulous place to stay. Wonderful breakfast to keep you going all day until a great choice of home-cooked dinners. Helpful staff able to advise on how to get around the country. Rooms from dormitory beds to en-suite doubles. Not far from the Charles Helou bus station. Baggage storage while we were away in the hills.

Bonne ambiance dans cet Hostel bien situé
Très bon accueil de la part de l’équipe de l’hostel, contact par whatsapp pour savoir à quelle heure j’arrivais, et accueil très sympa et dynamique à la réception me donnant plein d’information. Petite terrasse sympa pour se reposer au soleil, wifi marche bien et rapide, Petit déjeuner libanais inclus et mais tous les jours la même chose. Ce que j’ai le moins aimé : l’eau froide à certaines heures et les lits superposés, trop hauts si on est au dessus et les lits qui ne sont pas contre un mur grincent dès qu’on fait le moindre mouvement. Autre conseil, lorsqu’on commande un uber il vaut mieux mettre l’adresse « towa beirut » sur Gouraud Street sinon l’adresse indiquée vous amènera sur des escaliers à descendre avec une centaine de marches !
