Basel Marriott offered everything that one would expect of a Marriott hotel, but even more in Switzerland. The rooms were clean and spacious, well-appointed and friendly appearing, in an ideal location. The amenities including a good fitness center, a sauna, a lovely restaurant, and an after-hours center for a drink or snack. What more could you want?

The staff was exceptionally kind and supportive. The breakfast buffet is wonderful. Be sure and eat there. Dinner was also fabulous there. We treated ourselves and felt we got the most for our money. beware of where your room is located. ours was in the front and we heard the trams during the day and late evening. If you’re sensitive to noise, ask for a room near the middle or back of the hotel.

We had issues on arrival at the hotel and ended up waiting way past checkin for our rooms, wasting time in the hotel lobby as the rooms were “ready soon”. We ended up having to change rooms after a staff member gave us the wrong ones after we asked why they weren’t ready. Based purely on this I wouldn’t recommend staying here. This was by far the worst service we had across several hotels in Europe, something we didn’t expect from a Marriott. As a warning, breakfast is really expensive if you haven’t included it in your booking (we ate locally for a fraction of the price). The rooms are really nice, but totally let down by the service. One last item - the power ports in Switzerland aren’t European standard and the only port in the rooms that takes a European plug is in the inside of the door of the room’s safe (I am not joking).

Alles bestens, leider wurde unser Zimmer vergessen zu reinigen. Nachträglich jedoch tip top gemacht.
Was noch schwierig ist, die Buchung mit Zwillingsmatratzen, das haben wir fälschlicherweise gebucht 😏… wir konnten dann aber sofort wechseln auf eine grosse Matratze.

Tolles Hotel an der Messe Basel
Sehr schönes Hotel direkt an der Messe Basel.
Leider hat das Hotel keinen Parkservice noch eigene Parkplätze. Man kann für 50 CHF am Tag im Messeparkhaus parken. Aber während einer Messe sehr schwierig. Das Hotel hat schöne renovierte Zimmer und ein tolles Frühstück mit freundlichen Service.
