It's hard to know why some guests can leave mediocre review scores when they don't inform us of what issues there may have been. In our message to our guests, we specifically ask if there's anything we can do or that needs addressing during their stay, before they leave a less-than-favourable review. This guest left our housekeeper a 25 cent tip. This says a lot about the guest, not us. The previous Expedia guest on the day before gave us a 10 out of 10.We stand by our 9.2/10 rating based on over 200 reviews since 2018. Scores like this say more about the reviewer than the reviewee.

It's unfortunate you felt this way about our place, despite us allowing you and your other friends a free early check-in. It's also unfortunate that you did not bring any issues to our attention that would precipitate such a low score. (We aim for 8 or more) It would be nice to determine what was simply "OK" about it, especially given you had our largest suite, and with the view of the garden. Our average rating for the past 5 years has hovered around 9/10, and similarly on other platforms.

Thanks for that score. Not sure we can do anything about the stairs!!! And being it's an old house, some people find it charming. Regarding TP, we provide two rolls per reservation and is usually adequate for a two night stay. Had you needed more we wish you had reached out and asked. :)
