The room and hotel were absolutely beautiful! The bathroom was huge and lovely! The bedroom was also very large and had beautiful furnishings. What a lovely place!

It is a boutique hotel with only a limited number of rooms but we were made very welcome. The room and public areas were clean and well decorated and it was just very short walk to the beach. The gardens were beautiful.

Excellent Hotel in Ayr
A really lovely quaint hotel in the scottish baronial style. We had a room on the first floor which was a struggle to get to as we were laden with bags but in fairness, assistance was offered (pride came before a fall). The evening meal was delicious and there was suffucient choice on the menu. A range of wines were available, and the staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was excellent with a great choiceof foid and drink options. The room was larger than normally experienced at this price point. The bed was comfortable and super king size. The bathroom was large and ckean but bizarrely only serviced by a small bath with over head shower. Given the available room better use could be given to up grading. The Hotel is super dog friendly. We will definitely be back

Another Night Away.
A very nice friendly hotel. I think it may be changing ownership soon. Food and beer was very good - what more do you need. My only criticism is the lack of 13A sockets in the bedroom - nothing where the kettle and makings kept and a multi-way extension sat on top of the desk.

Satisfactory room, but no fridge or shower, food service, staff and host very welcoming, which made up for some of the obvious shortfalls in the condition of the property.

On the upside, which is why I have given them a 2, the staff were friendly. That's it! Now, the biggest issue I had with this hotel were the mattresses. They are so used that they are now thin, hard, uneven and sore to sleep on. I stayed in room 1 for the first night, got hardly any sleep (also lots of cobwebs). I asked to be moved to a different room. Interesting that the receptionist showed no surprise. I was then put in room 7. The mattress was the same disgraceful state, only with a thin topper, which didn't really do much good. If you search for the lowest scoring comments, you will see lots of them mention the atrocious mattresses. I asked other guests at breakfast, and they too were extremely disappointed with the mattresses and so did not get the sleep they needed. I had dinner (once was enough) - fish and chips. On the menu it said 'handmade chips' - they weren't - they were oven chips, undercooked. The peas were microwaved to the point they were shrinking and wilting. The fish batter looked like something out of the film Alien. This was anything but restaurant quality - absolutely appalling. With regards breakfast, the food was satisfactory, nothing special, but with few guests and two staff serving, it still took over 20 minutes just to get my cereal. And I had to remind them. Ridiculous. I left the hotel a day early, I couldn't stand sleeping on that mattress anymore. How this hotel gets a 'wonderful' is beyond me. Do not recommend a stay at this hotel!

This hotel is in the perfect location for a stay in Ayr. You are close enough to the town centre that you can walk in easily but far enough out that you’re not bothered with noise. The staff are excellent, the food is great and you can park right outside.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were excellent, friendly and very attentive. The food was 1st class with very large portions. Would definitely recommend a visit.

It is a magnificent looking hotel from outside and inside and grand grounds. You feel like you are staying in a castle. Only one lift for entire hotel which can mean a bit of a way when checking out. Different level stairs on each floor so not ideal for the disabled or elderly

Hôtel de charme, comme on s’attend à trouver en Ecosse. Accueil très sympathique et très prévenant. La table est très bonne, avec une mention particulière pour l’afternoon tea, qui est bien agréable pour un après midi d’automne.. Un grand bravo et un grand merci.

The hotel is beautiful. Lovely older building. The staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and nothing was too much to ask. It felt like a much more personal stay than a big chain hotel. The building is older and so the room did feel a little damp but heaters were provided and that fixed any issue. The hotel was also very accommodating to me needing gluten free items. There is also lots of parking out front and along a side road. It did get busy on Tuesday as the round table were there but I still managed to park up the side street. It's a 5 minute walk to the sea front. Ayr sea front is definitely worth a look. It's so beautiful.

Fantastic, dog friendly hotel. This is a Friendly hotel with a capital F. It’s upmarket, beautiful rooms and common areas. The staff are clearly passionate about service. Would be hard to think of anywhere better to stay.

Rooms are very dated. Bath was very dirty. The hotel smalls musky. Blinds in the room were broken so room was very bright early in the morning. The price was quite high for the quality of rooms. Staff were all very plesent and service was wonderful. Breafast was enjoyable.

Lovely hotel set just back from the town centre - the staff were very polite and attentive to our needs, we really can't fault them. Bar area - lovely and very well appointed and well priced, which makes a change to other establishments. The room did show its age in parts, but it was clean & tidy and again like the bar it was well-appointed. Breakfast was the only lost star - you could order a full breakfast and get a plate of I think 8 items, I didn't fancy a full breakfast, so when I ordered bacon, sausage & scrambled egg I thought it would of closer in proportion to above, not 1 rasher of bacon, 1 small sausage and what seemed like a 1 egg scrambled egg served on a full-sized oval plate, perhaps if you reduced the plate size it wouldn't have looked so out of proportion - otherwise excellent. If you want a town centre hotel with good facilities, we would highly recommend Savoy Park.

After driving through busy centre of Ayr, I wondered how quiet this one night's stay would actually be. Shouldn't have worried -- this elegant Edwardian-style hotel was set in a leafy side street with gravelled parking out front and spacious lawned garden to the back. My room overlooked this garden and outdoor tables adjoining the bar, but it wasn't noisy on a warm June night -- only birdsong and quiet chatting. The room (and bathroom) itself was very clean and nicely appointed. Interiors, including bar and dining room, continue elegant period decor, perfect for a cocktail before dinner. Interesting menu for dinner, and very good full Scottish breakfast the next morning. Staff were all very helpful and attentive, even hunting down a fan to break up the still air of unusually hot weather after sundown.
