  • We are a small goat rescue property with a 2 bedroom Cabin and a private pool. We deliberately have no tv in the cabin. We offer a plain simple cabin with new carpet throughout and with books to read and birdsongs to enjoy. This is for relaxing! We do have roosters so be aware when booking please!
    *We have a very friendly young dog named Archie on this property.* A great escape for Writers' and Artists' to relax and focus. A beautiful location in a country setting yet just 4 minutes to the motorway and shops! We have wonderful views of Pukekohe to the West and the hills of Bombay to the East and within minutes of the Motorway for easy access to Auckland, Coromandel, Waiuku and the South. 2k's off the main road on a rough farm track, enjoy a relaxed location, with a large private pool all to yourself, ponds, great deck spaces, goats, ducks and chickens. 10 minutes away from Pukekohe and Tuakau for some amazing restaurants and great shops. Enjoy free range eggs when available, beautiful relaxing gardens with views all around, have a glass of wine on the deck and relax the day away. Sit under the trees and enjoy all the birds that visit us daily, including numerous Kingfishers hence our name ! The perfect base for day trips to Auckland, Hamilton, Thames and more. Spend the day in Pukekohe and enjoy coffee shops, a great range of retail shopping, restaurants galore, movie theatre and great markets in Pukekohe on Saturday and Pokeno on Sunday or spend the day by the pool in the summer and get a great tan. Located close to Pukekohe raceway and Hampton Downs if you like fast cars .

Idyllic location, so relaxing and lovely to be surrounded by farm animals and nature alike. Super friendly hosts and a fab, clean and tidy place to stay, we’ll be recommending this place!

Great spot to unwind and switch off - perfect for feeling like you’re completely out of the city without having to drive for hours. Hosts were great and found perfect mix of friendly/accomodating while also giving privacy. Highly recommend taking the short trip over to Pokeno butcher and making the most of the coal barbecue provided.

Short stay on our way to a concert in Pukekohe. Great swim and out of the way. The location is close to Bombay shopping area. Great swim before heading off for the night.

This was such a wonderful stay, peaceful and rural but still with all the mod cons! The cabin is wonderful, very well maintained and clean. Lovley to have a deck, and plenty of places to sit in the sun! The animals were wonderful, so cool to look outside and see a peacock! The roosters did crow in the morning, but not until 630 ish for us, and they were easy to sleep through. Very lovley to hang out with Archie (the dog)! The host were incredibly accommodating, and friendly, we had a good chat when we arrived. The road to get to the cabin is a little windy, but very scenic. Makes for a nice walk. I would absolutely go back, and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to get away from the hustle of life, while not traveling too far from auckland! What a wonderful holiday, miss it already!

It is as described, basic amenities, easily heated in winter, would be hot in summer.Comfortable beds. Friendly dog, chickens and goats. As noted by others, unsignposted, unlit rough track to property: 1.5 kms. Arriving after sunset on a wet winter night wasn’t pleasant, and the rain overnight made me worry about how it would be in the morning. The explanation that the hosts don’t want people to find them seems very odd when it is an income producing exercise and not an obvious target for theft. The hostess was responsive, and there to greet us; but didn’t advise us that the wifi now needed a new provider and password. When I called, she seemed unaware of this. It needs a folder with info about local services. A night’s supply of tea, coffee, sugar and milk provided. Useful for brief stay on way in or out of South Auckland.

Yes cabin tidy & clean , friendly hosts. Had trouble finding the site but 2 neighbours helped. Needs signage. Track in was rough, overgrown foliage scratched my vehicle. 3 roosters were annoying. (cant wear earplugs all day) Needs a larger fridge. Inadequate for 4 guests. Small Bbq requires firelighters and lighter not available (not a gas powered Bbq) However it was therupedic & a change of pace there.

A bit rough around the edges

Cabin is very basic with raw plywood walls and floors, unfortunately we were there on a very hot and still afternoon which made the cabin rather uncomfortable despite the doors and windows open and two fans going. Pool was lovely but had some some debris. Great setting with the trees and animals, but there is a bit of the highway traffic in the background. Note there is a reasonable unsealed driveway around the fields. Friendly and nice hosts!

I found it difficult to find as I had no idea how far down the bumpy dirt track it was. A few signs along the track would be very helpful. The ply needs to be painted on the bathroom floor as it feels gritty underfoot. The bath mat needed cleaning. I asked for milk and was ignored. Also they don't provide sweetner. There is no where to put or hang your toilet bag, a selection of hooks in there would be good for clothes as well. Overall lack of attention to details. The shower pressure is good and the bed was good but the sheets were old polyester feel. Nice to be out in the country amongst the animals. I think it was expensive for what it was.
