Retreat to the Appalachians at Eagles Wing Lodge, a luxe 3BR/3.5BA (plus loft) getaway boasting dazzling sunset views from inside and out, a game room with ping-pong, and nearly 3,000 square feet of lavish living space. Additional highlights include a gourmet kitchen, a firepit, and hiking trails just off the property.

This rental is close to outdoor adventures as well as the culture and cuisine of downtown Asheville, all while offering a private, picturesque escape.

LIVING AREA

Socialize around the gas fireplace in the living area, classically appointed with a sofa and three armchairs.

Enjoy a book in the den, featuring seating for four.

The game room offers ping-pong as well as a sleeper sectional, two armchairs, and a smart TV.

Watch a movie in the loft, furnished with a sleeper sofa, four armchairs, and a smart TV.

KITCHEN & DINING

Home chefs will love the pristine kitchen, equipped with granite countertops and a full suite of stainless steel appliances. The downstairs kitchenette includes a sink, microwave, and coffee maker.

Gather for meals at the eight-person dining table. Enjoy breakfast at the three-person island bar.

BED & BATH

Sleep soundly in the master suite, complete with a stately king bed and an en-suite bath with a walk-in shower.

Find comfort in the second bedroom, furnished with a queen and twin bed.

The third bedroom (game room) is outfitted with a queen bed, two twin beds, and a queen sleeper sofa.

The loft offers two twin beds and a queen sleeper sofa.

The second bathroom is configured with a tub/shower combination, while the third bathroom has a walk-in shower. A half bath is located off the entryway.

OUTDOOR AREA & AMENITIES

Enjoy epic sunsets from your deluxe retreat. The upper deck offers seating for two, while the wraparound deck boasts two loungers, four rockers, and two love seats. The patio has a love seat swing and table for three.

Cook burgers on the gas grill and dine alfresco at the table for six.

End the day around the wood-burning firepit.

EXTRA PERKS & MORE DETAILS

Extra perks include complimentary Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer, and driveway parking for four cars.

The gas fireplace in the living room is not operational between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

A local noise ordinance is in effect between 10pm and 8am. This property is not suitable for those wanting to spend late nights on the decks.

If traveling with a larger group, consider renting Elkhorn Cabin as well, located approximately 100 feet away.

Beautiful, unique home with breathtaking views at every angle. Comfortable set-up, eclectic and artsy style. Being surrounded by scripture was a bonus. Close to GPI and DT Asheville. Would definitely return !

Great mountain home close to Asheville/Biltmore

This was a great property for our family of 5. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own bed and plenty of common space to be able to spread out. Close enough to Asheville, but far enough away to have some solitude

Great place to hangout with old friends

This home has been loved by many and it’s showing. It could use some extra TLC with some of its features. But it’s is a great place for teens and adults to hang out, which was what we were looking for- a place that could house 2 families. Sunset views were beautiful. Ping pong table was a hit.

Beautiful view and great safe location

Three women had a great stay in this superb house. The only down side was the ability to get an UBER downtown. Couldn’t get any drivers to come out to get us. We ended up using a ride service but it was $40 each way. Wouldn’t change a thing with this stay but heed to be aware of the distance to downtown hot spots.

This property is gorgeous! Stunning views with lovely porch and yard. The house is super cozy and decorated so lovely. Felt like being home. The house is really well stocked with everything needed and so much room to spread out and. Relax! Loved it

I would stay again at this property.

The property was great. Enjoyed our time at the house. The only things I would say the bed sheets need to be a better quality and the lighting need to be update to LED or just better bulbs. These 2 things are just minor things that would improve the house. We will be staying agian the next time in Asheville.

Perfect for our occasion

We gathered for Christmas and this place was perfect for us! The few things that could be improved include: Better lighting Updated directions for how to get to the hike (hope we didn’t upset your neighbors by getting so lost!) Better water pressure in upstairs shower and toilet flush power in master bathroom. Cookie sheets. Otherwise it was so perfect! We had bonfire outside thanks to all the great supplies and the space layout was perfect! Thank you for everything!

Perfect for a family vacation

This property was better than the photos! The view is fantastic. It feels very homey and cozy. If you are looking for a great spot for a family vacation there are plenty of spots to sleep, and the ping pong table was so much fun to use. It is super close to everything but has the added benefit of being a real mountain cabin. Would definitely recommend this spot for your stay! Nothing to do with the house itself but some advice - the road up to the property might be harder to navigate if you have a low sports car.

Beautiful view (I think I've already reviewed this.)

House was very clean and the beds were comfortable.. Beautiful view and enough chairs. Interesting lay-out of rooms.The road up to the house is narrow and a bit steep so we'd not want to rent the house in winter. Main complaint: VRBO says "rentals BY OWNER" but we had to deal with a 2nd agency (Turnkey) after reserving the house, which was often frustrating. Some of the response to my emails were like form letters, making it seem they really did not know the house. I called once and the person was in Texas! I was told I'd be notified if we could get in early but the standard email kept saying 4 PM. So I called Turnkey and was told we could go in around NOON. Then I got another email saying 4 PM. I asked if the sofa beds (there were two, not 3) would be made up and they emailed YES. But they were NOT made up and we needed to use one. Luckily we called the owner who gave us the code into the supply room where we found sheets. No foosball table. Kitchen: Only one dish towel and not enough paper towels or TP. (which was cheap) or sponges. No colander or strainer,no veggie brush, and some of the non-stick pans need replacing - very worn, so not healthy. Inside handle on door upstairs needs replacing and lock on door to porch on main floor did not work right. The house info book needs updating. We found no guest book that it mentioned. It mentions keys (there are none now) and said departure time is 11 AM while Turnkey said 10 AM. So, some things could be improved, but we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the view and many things about the house. If I reserve with VRBO again I want to deal with an owner, not another agency. Nevertheless, we managed, and ten of us had a great 4 nights there. Our thanks to the owners who responded with door help and supply room/sheets information.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We had a reunion of friends with plenty of space to sleep, eat, and hang out. We had everything we needed to stay in for a day, but also were a short Uber to downtown for fun options around Asheville. Beautiful views from the porch really added to the experience. My only note of advice to others renting is that all but one bed is in an open area and noise does travel. We had all adults that went to bed at the same time so this was not an issue for us, but could be for those with younger or older family members going to bed at different times. All in all, we would recommend this place to others and had no complaints from our time there. It was perfect for our weekend.

What a great place

Three couples, high school classmates, more than 50 years ago met up here. The pictures sold us on the house, but even the great pictures don’t do it justice. A special place for a special getaway.

Great property!!

We enjoyed our stay here. The house is well laid out and comfortable. We especially enjoyed having drinks and cheese on the back deck as the sun set. Fantastic views! It's up a steep hill and could be an issue in the Winter, but no problem for a passenger car ordinarily. About 15 minutes from downtown.

absolutely awful!!!!!

2 big screen tvs that didn't work! A/C that did not work! One shower out of 3 that worked! No plumber to fix the others for 1 week! No foosball for the foosball game! Filthy cushions on lounge chairs and ashtrays filled with ashes on the balcony! Lightbulbs missing from the dining room chandelier leaving the room dark! Totally disappointing! Turnkey Property Management was unresponsive and left us in a mess during Covid with no other place to go! DO NOT GO TO THIS MESS!

Great home, loca, and view. Owner also had firewood ready for pit, many toys for kids, plenty of towels, nice furnishings. The only small complaints are cooking utensils a bit sparse and foosball table broke other than that rest near perfect.

Mountain Idyll

We were in heaven from the moment we pulled in the driveway. Owners Norm and design-mastermind Carol have created a splendid mountain retreat that beautifully marries rustic-lodge ambience with luxurious appliances, fixtures and bedding. Wonderful views from the expansive porch, gorgeous kitchen, cozy spots to curl up with a book, ping-pong in the basement, a fire pit outside . . . Who could ask for more? We never wanted to leave.
