We got a notice the day before we were to check in that our Unit had an issue and wouldn't be available until Thurs, The Owner said he would upgrade us to a "nicer" unit and on Thursday we would have to move into the unit after they took care of the issue. We were there on work, and were staying from Mon to Sat. This was an issue as we were buying food, unpacking, travelling, etc, I even offered to just check into the unit while they repaired whatever it is that was an issue as we were going to be gone all day. Apparently there was a pet issue and that was not possible.
We were kind of stuck as we booked late and way overpaid as is so we went with the "Upgrade" unit.
The "upgrade" unit smelled like a cheap chocolate dollar store candle, we pulled a hair glob out of the bathtub the first morning about 6 inches long as it was plugged, and there was cut vegetables in the fridge. It was not a clean unit.
When we repacked, and moved all our food etc into the original unit on Thursday we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was more surface clean and had a pleasant smell at least. We were only there for the last 2 nights and when I left I went to clean the sink and the hose wouldn't shut off. This was an obvious before issue as the trigger had marks where someone had tried to fix it before.
We left BOTH these units cleaner than when we checked in. When I talked to the owner and suggested that we get our cleaning fee refunded, he stated he did not have the money to do that.
