«Property needed a deep clean. I sneezed a lot and had black dust come out of my nose. Heating didn’t work sometimes and the room was quite cold. «The Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area. The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay. The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!! «Brilliant place to stay as a family, very clean and lovely place to stay, location by a private farm in the sticks you’re surrounded by grass, views, water and horses it’s beautiful. Great size accommodation and with modern kitchen and bathroom making staying here great. Located close to mainly areas, Beamish, Newcastle, Durham etc. Can’t recommend this place enough a lovely cozy warm stay.»

«First time in Newbiggin and enjoyed it, the town has plenty of resources- a corner shop just round the corner and pubs, takeaways, cafes and a couple of restaurants, a small craft ale bar too. There’s going to be a new bar/café opening any day now just over the road down on the beach which will be handy (and as it’s low down shouldn’t cause any problems). The house was as described, newly done out, well equipped with comfy beds and an unblocked sea view. We used it as a base for exploring the ...

«Lovely, clean property in a great location. Everything as expected and house nice and warm. Only note, instructions say the key is at the back of the house where the parking is but the parking and the key holder is clearly at the front of the house - not sure how a simple instruction like this can be wrongly noted. Other than this, everything great and would recommend property.»

The property is located in the grounds of the owner’s property who provided us with a warm welcome and recommended places to eat and walk. «This excellent property in Warkworth is an ideal base from which to tour the wonderful sites of Northumberland. The apartment was clean and offered everything we needed. Warkworth has plenty of free parking, great pubs and restaurant options as well as being walking distance to the beach and other trail routes.
