Unsafe and unpleasant
they may hav permissions, but without a separate fire escape from 3rd floor, it felt very unsafe. 3rd floor rooms just below the roof were very unpleasnt during warm weather, with no cooling.

Sentral beliggenhet i York med egen parkering.
Fint hotell i York med sentral beliggenhet og egen parkering. Veldig hyggelig personale både i resepsjonen og i spisesalen.

Had a lovely stay at Minster only thing no lift .But gave me good excercise with my dodgy knees.Also no ventilation in the toilet.Will definetly book again.

We loved the location of the lodging to downtown. Close but not in the midst of the crowds. The hotel was a nice retreat to our adventures exploring York. We love these old, charming lodgings.

Staff were really helpful and my room was clean. I was unlucky that my room was on the third floor without a lift. The staff did offer to take my case up though. The room was extremely hot and I needed the small window open fully which meant that it was really noisy. I was given a fan but that did not work either. The hotel is tired looking but the friendliness of the staff could not be faulted.

The room was lovely with a really modern ensuite bathroom. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. It was ideally situated with both shops, historic sites and parkland within walking distance. I would definitly return

Everyone was so lovely, reception and dining staff a real credit to the hotel. Food was very good and staff couldn’t do enough for you. Rooms very nice, large and clean

Excellent hotel in a great location making it easy to walk to everything one would want to visit in York. Great breakfast service, great breakfast and well worth having included in price. Accommodation very comfortable and all extras such as tea/coffee, tv, internet etc all as standard.

The staff are so friendly and helpful like most yorkshire folk, particularly the always happy Stewart serving breakfast who has been there forever. Great breakfast options in lovely dining room. Good shower, warm rooms. So convenient for the town centre, perfect and flexible parking

A mix of traditional and modern, the room was comfortable and spacious. Close to the city centre and easy to find and park. Service was amazing, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. The wifi connection was a little slow but that can't detract from the wonderful two nights here. Will definitely return

The hotel staff were amazing, allowed us to leave our luggage before our booking in time. Very friendly. The breakfast was good although the black pudding was hard! Clean rooms and good facilities. Easy walking distance of York centre.

Perfect location for a York trip
Great location to explore York. Service from every member of staff was brilliant, really caring and personal. Breakfast was superb with a great selection. They offer car parking too which is difficult for a lot of places in York. However, given the size of the car park it’s first come first serve and no guarantee of a space. Rooms perfectly fine for what we needed, a few slightly dated touches but believe they are in the process of updating things, it didn’t really hamper our experience. Would definitely stay here again when returning to York

Good hotel, great location
Really friendly staff, great position to visit the city and good breakfast. The hotel itself it's fine and it seems clean but has potential to be improved on some points. I understand the building is not recent but the wall soundproofing is really poor. I don't know if it depends on the room but from ours we could hear the neighbours talking at midnight even if their voice was not too loud - not ideal if you want to rest. In the bathroom there was no hand soap but, in my case, I always carry some so it was an easy fix. Otherwise everything else was fine!

Another great stay at the minster. Our room (34) was modern, quiet and had a lovely en suite. The breakfast next morning was very nice and we loved being able to securely park our car and make the very short (5 mins) walk into the city centre. This is our favourite hotel in York.

Very close to all areas we were visiting. We walked everywhere. The room was better than expected. Spacious and huge bed. Staff were attentive, friendly and always helpful. Only issue was the hot water took ages to reach the annexe part so just needed to wait. The shower tray was very shallow so kept needing to stop the water for water to drain off otherwise the floor would get flooded. Excellent choice for breakfast with good quality produce.

Our 4th year stay
This is our 4th year staying at the minster hotel and it never disappoints. This hotel is amazing. From arriving in the hotels carpark to leaving. The staff on reception give you such a warm welcome and will do anything to help you. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The beds very comfortable. Breakfast is just yummy and lots of choice. Just need to mention the eggs. The best I have ever had. Now the staff. The team of staff that work at this hotel are a dream team and I cannot praise them enough. Nothing is too much trouble and you can clearly see that each and every member of staff love what they do in there job. We will always stay at this hotel and have already booked our next trip Team minster hotel all the way
