Lovely Ocean View Far From Town
Good points: fantastic view, location close to the ocean; very few people on the beach; well kept facility; clean place, great mattresses; lots of closet and storage space. Bad points: 40 to 60 minutes to downtown, through a homeless encampment, so every drive anywhere takes a lot of your day; no sharp knives and awful pots and pans; no soap for shower and washer; one trash bag; 2 dishwasher pods; at this price, which is much more than others in the building, I expect to not have to make a trip to the grocery store before I can shower.

Great stay for west island experience
The beach is great. The room was great. We've stayed at this location before and its a little gem nestled in a local neighborhood. Our only complaints were that the hallway door was not working properly when we 1st arrived and was a little frustrating (salty air seemed to be the cause)... and a door needs to be installed in the 2nd bathroom.

You were turning the key to the left but it will only unlock when turned to right. This has never been an issue in the past. Also, there is a door inside the wall for the second bathroom. Thank you Jeff for your review.

Great Place
This condo was amazing! We had such a good time. Check-in and check-out was easy. There are boogie boards, snorkel gear, and chairs but the umbrella is a little messed up. The sunset every night is the highlight of the day!

Anniversary trip
We absolutely loved this place!! The property had everything we needed—kitchen supplies, great beds and linens, nice bath towels, beach chairs, water toys, beach towels, etc. It was super clean, very secure and very comfortable. We cooked several meals and did a few loads of laundry. Everything worked great. The beach was TOP NOTCH!!! We drove the entire island sightseeing and never saw another beach we wanted to get out and spend time at. The beach here feels private and was never even close to being crowded. And the sunsets were stunning!

We have been to the Hawaiian Princess multiple times, at differnt times of the year. This time there were dozens upon dozen of whales doing their thing that we watched off of the lani and the beach. It was magnificent! The location is more peaceful than in Honolulu. The beach is easily accessible and there is always space to lounge, sun, or play. The suite is spacious and comfortable. The constant breezes means you dont have to turn on AC. Have recommended this location to family and friends. It truly is lovely!

2nd stay at Hawaiian Princess was great!
We love the Hawaiian Princess, have had great experiences both times despite some minor issues. The beach and coastline are gorgeous and uncrowded (btw that's an understatement), the view from the room and access to it are a few steps from the elevator in the lobby, and the rooms are comfortable if at times a little dated (LESS so for this unit). That said, it's not for everyone. Good shopping is remote, dining options are limited, and the highway traffic can back up horribly at times. We'll still come back because it is so peaceful- sit on the lanai and watch the waves, whales, turtles, occasional surfer or sand castle builder; walk the beach, and we love the local hiking options. Someday I'm going to play the Makaha golf course too!

nice ocean-/beach-front apartment; could use more
Very nice location on the ocean. Surf warnings were up the whole time we were there and the ocean was so (wonderfully) loud you couldn't hear the tv and had to go in the bedroom to talk on the phone. Had to spend most water time at the pool and sometimes there weren't enough chairs. The condo is published as "self-catered" but there weren't enough of the basics-- plates and silver not even for 6, few cooking utensils, no sharp knives. Not even soap in the shower. We've stayed in VRBOs for years and have always found dish soap, bath soap and laundry detergent if there's a washer. Plenty of closet space and bathrooms worked well. The bedding could be improved especially the old pillows. But we enjoyed sleeping to the pounding surf.

The Hawaiin Princess is a great place to stay. The grounds were nice and there were good amenities in the building. Our kids just wanted to be on the private beach all day which was fantastic! The room was nice and clean but a little dated. The oven was ancient and difficult to use. The oven dials were duct-taped together. The staff was very nice, communicative, and helpful. We had a little bit of bad luck staying there during construction which was noisy during the day but not terrible. We had some other bad luck with the internet going down in the whole building for a day and a half and one of the elevators broke down the last few days we were there. On our last night, some kids got through security and were being rude to other beachgoers and left a big pile of trash on the beach. I informed the security guard and asked for a garbage bag to clean up after the kids. He could not find a garbage bag so I took one out of a nearby garbage can and cleaned up the mess. The security guard was busy on his phone that night. Overall it was a good stay despite the neighborhood which has a lot of homelessness and tent encampments.

Amazing view
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Tammy's condo. She was very responsive to our few questions and sending recommendations on restaurants and activities was very helpful. She had most everything we needed for our stay - beach chairs, towels, umbrella, snorkel gear, etc. I do have to agree with others that the area has a major problem with homelessness, and it did make me a bit on edge. However, it's an issue on the entire island, and nothing the owner can change. That being said, the condo & building are secure, and we had no problems, and felt safe. The guards were friendly and helpful as well. But most of all, the sunsets are amazing! It's what we came to see, and we were thankful that we had the opportunity to do so! Thanks for sharing your beach house, Tammy!

Gorgeous sunsets!
Every night we would watch the sunset and take numerous pictures. We listened to the roar of the waves and when calm we swam on the beach. This is a diamond in the rough! You are about an hour from any of the regular tourist destinations, but when you are in your condo with that view, it is amazing.

Hidden paradise
To be honest, as we drove through the neighboring town(s) to get to the condo, I started to panic. There is an unfortunate high presence of an unhoused population living in tents along the beach, abandoned store fronts, and individuals who appear to be suffering from addiction and/or mental illness. However, once we pulled into the complex and saw the beautiful gem of a beach, and the BEAUTIFUL condo, I was relieved. The condo itself is absolutely gorgeous and immaculate. It had everything we could need (even washer/dryer), and was perfect. Check in was easy, and the instructions were clear. Wifi was better than what we had in the hotel we were in prior. The private little beach (about 1/3 of a mile long) is stunning with a perfect view of the sunset off the wrap around balcony. We had some friends/family join us for a day of beach, body surfing, sun, and grilling on the gas BBQs at the complex and we were in heaven. The condo and beach felt safe and secure. If you want to just relax at a beautiful beach, this place is absolutely perfect. If you are someone who likes to walk around the town and explore by foot, this is probably not a great location for you. It was perfect for us and we even started looking at listings for condos in the complex before we left! Mahalo, Tammy, for sharing your beautiful condo with us!

Paradise in Makaha!
My family just came back from spending 2 weeks at the Hawaiian Princess and we are already talking about when we can go back. Tammy's place was amazing. Just walking onto the wraparound terrace and seeing the view is an unforgettable experience. You couldn't be any closer to the ocean. We cooked most of our dinners in the fully equipped kitchen and then enjoyed them on the balcony while watching the sunset. The beds were super comfortable and the sounds of the waves put us right to sleep. Tammy was an awesome host and kept in touch with us throughout our stay to make sure we have everything we need. The building is well taken care of and everyone is really nice. We explored Oahu quite a bit but loved coming back to "our" beach, which was basically empty most of the time and one of the best beaches on the island. We watched many turtles and even Manta Rays swim by and enjoyed snorkeling the reef. Thank you Tammy

Excellent trip
Overall the stay was great. The ac didnt work in the living room but the owner told us before we arrive about the problem and had a few fan drop off to help. We didnt stay much at the condo so it work out. Couldnt get the tv in the bedroom to work but who need tv when you have a excellent view of the ocean. Overall would love to stay here again.

Relaxing
Aloha! Spent one week here with partner and my 84 year old mother. We had a great week. The unit is clean and quite well stocked, newly remodeled. Tammy, the owner was quick to respond with answers to my questions. The view from the lanai is amazing for morning sunrise and coffee or cocktail sunset hour. Spent many hours here just reading and relaxing. We enjoyed the pool for quick cool downs, especially because the ocean here is a bit too strong for my mom to enter. We drove down the road for her to enter in calmer waters. My only request would be purchase a chaise lounge chair for the lanai and a juicer for the kitchen. We had a lovely time and want to return. Beautiful beach front condo with amazing sunset views. Comfortable beds with 1.5 baths. Kitchen is well supplied with cookware and utensils. Lots of bath and beach towels. Great assortment of beach items such as chairs, umbrellas, and toys. Washer was working which the owner communicated to us and offered laundry service. We also never got the dishwasher to work.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The view from the balcony was gorgeous, we enjoyed the private beach out front and the condo provided basic needs for a stay here. We wish the surrounding neighborhood had more appeal - good restaurants, options as most activities were quite a distance away, etc. but theh condo itself was nice.

What a View!!!
The location is fantastic, and views can't be beat. The washer and Dryer wasn't working but we knew that before we left, and Owners did a pickup laundry service for us instead. Very thoughtful and appreciative. We really enjoyed the condo - would definitely stay there again.

The property was great, especially the beach and view. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed. The sunset view from the balcony was amazing! We really didn't need to go anywhere. Unlike some other beaches, this one was never crowded and we saw 🐢 The security entrances made us feel really safe on the property and the beach. One of the best part was the ability to leave the large sliders open to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean every night. We would book this property again if we went back to Oahu.

Tammy's condo is a wonderful place to stay on Oahu. The condo is clean and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well stock for cooking. The only downside I can say about the condo is the chairs around the table need to be replaced. Other then that, it is a wonderful place. The view from the lanai is beautiful, the beach is quiet, and the snokeling is wonderful. I would definitely stay there again and can honestly recommend Tammy's place.

Fantastic Oahu Secret Getaway!
The listing for this property is EXACTLY as described. From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with the fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean hitting the shoreline right from the lanai! Stunning sunsets each night; what a show! We saw 2 sea turtles swim by right after lunch hour one day. (Best seen when the sun perfectly lights up the sparkling blue water.) Nice kitchen, VERY comfy beds. The area surrounding the Princess is meh, but that really has no effect on this condo. Once you walk in all of that is left behind and forgotten. You will be spoiled with this view and the proximity of the ocean. We’re in a normal resort in Maui now and it feels rather disappointing!!

Great Condo!
The complex was great! We felt very safe there. Sadly, there is quite a population of homeless on the West side, of Oahu. They never bothered us, but it made us feel bad that we were living so well, while they are homeless.

Hidden gem!!!!!
Best trip ever!!!! We didn’t want to leave the property but forced ourselves to to visit other parts of the island. From the condo lanai we watched sea turtles swim by each morning and went snorkeling with them as well. Just amazing!!!

Happy Time
We were a little apprehensive as this is our 5th time in Hawaii and also O'ahu. We usually stay our last 3-4 days in Honolulu, but decided that this time we needed some serious down time upon arrival. Makaha is absolutely perfect for this and we were completely happy with our stay. Tammy was really wonderful and helped us with a few tidbits that needed attending without issue. We also had a tiny issue, our issue honestly, and it was handled perfectly and we were happy to help out the cleaning person. The unit itself is perfectly located and check-in and leaving was without issue. The view from the lanai is just perfect with breakfast, dinner and sunsets thoroughly enjoyed. Everything that one needs was provided and we lacked for nothing. It is always great to have an owner unit, rather than a managed, as they tend to be more lenient with salt, pepper, oil etc...the basic necessities to start our journey. The complex itself is perfectly situated to get away from it all. We are not bar people nor restaurant attendees, so all was so worthwhile here. The grill was handy and cleaned daily. The access to the beach is easy as is the pool and hot tub. All in all I would rate this highly for someone that wants a low key stay on O'ahu and wants to be part of the local community. The grocery stores nearby were better than expected and the POKÉ was delicious. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
