We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. We loved the Kelo cabin. Everything about this place made for a very relaxing vacation. We were very satisfied the dining each night. They had four main menus that rotated each day. Our favorite excursion was the dog sledding. We have enthusiastically recommended Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort to all of our friends and family.

The staff at receptions are very helpful to arrange all activities for us at last minute booking. Really appreciate. The only comment is to equip the igloo with more accommodation facility such as hook at toilet, bigger bin etc.😊

Before I made reservations in this hotel I read so many opinions. Some of them was really bad so I afraid book this hotel. But I am so happy I did. Everything was perfect. Everybody was so nice and helpful. Food was delicious especially dinner. I will recommend this hotel ( we spend one night in the igloo) to everyone.

Other than very expensive activities there is nothing to do. It is a beautiful location but very remote. The igloo stay is an experience though and was amazing to view the northern lights.

Not great value for money. Even as a one off exp.
Stunning resort with breathing taking beauty and plenty of activities. But has become extremely expensive lately. I've been just about every year for a decade now, but I think my most recent trip will be my last. I don't think it represents fair value for money anymore. Owners/operators have let the service quality slide quite a bit. Cabins and location are still fantastic. But there are probably other equally impressive locations with far more friendly welcoming, warm service that are not anywhere near as expensive as this place.

I was surprised that there were no Finnish people working at the resort. The dinner was luke warm not hot. The dessert was not as described and had zero flavor. The smoke sauna was an incredible delight. Over all I’d say the facilities need some updating. I believe the price that you are paying to stay here is not for customer service or food quality or facilities but the experience. If you only are seeking a visual delight and cost is not an issue then I would stay here.

Very bad experience, my friend fell and broke her wrist and the hotel did not have any transportation to go to the hospital, they did not have a pain pill, they called the taxi companies and they could not find a taxi, thank God, someone He offered to take us, we also had 2 activities that same day that we couldn't do and they didn't refund our money. When you arrive you have to carry the suitcases yourself to the room, which are super far away. I don't recommend it. He only cares about making money. he doesn't care about the client, the food was terrible

The whole facility and dinner looks good. However, the Sauna doesn’t work. The heating dial was missing. A screw of door handle was loose. No service for fireplace at all. I mentioned this just because the price doesn’t match the facilities. I paid a lot and do want to see those facilities works well even I don’t use it.

I just love the glass igloo. it was quite an experience. Waking up seeing the sky. It was beautiful. Miss seeing aurora but the experience is unforgettable. Food was good and staff were ok.

Great for Winter, but Expensive
I stayed here in September. It was the slow season, so there was not nearly as many activities offered. If you're wanting to go here, I would HIGHLY recommend going in the winter/snowy months. It will be more fun and prettier. Also, be prepared to pay a lot. All the activities offered are really cool, but cost hundreds of dollars each. That said, I enjoyed my time and am really glad I went. Service was excellent. Everyone I talked to was friendly and helpful, and staying in the igloos is awesome even if you don't get to see the northern lights.

Best hotel experience ever! The staff (most of them are expats) treated me like a king. They were nice enough to pick me up with their shuttle bus and gave me extra food for missing some meals. Hospitality is so great! I can't thank them enough. They went above and beyond for me. Staying inside the glass igloo as a hotel room is a dream come true. Time does go by very fast, so sleep less and just gaze at the roof as you are laying down. I'm literally the happiest person on Earth. Thanks Kakslauttanen team! You guys are amazing!

Wir haben eine Nacht im kleinen Glasiglu verbracht. Die Unterkunft war nicht besonders sauber (Kissen und Bezüge voller Flecken), die Betten extrem ungemütlich, das Essen eine Katastrophe. Eine Nacht in so einem Iglu zu verbringen ist mal ein Erlebnis für sich aber fast 500€ pro Nacht ist hierfür definitiv zu viel. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt hier absolut nicht. Wir würden diese Unterkunft definitiv nicht weiter empfehlen.

The resort has a very scenic ambiance. The dining hall is very Finnish using natural resources from the property, I assume. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. All the activities organized were fun. A bit disappointed with the food menu. I hope there is an improvement in that area.

Super cool lodging, food needs improvement
Once is a lifetime experience. Had a great time overall. The food needs to be more accommodating and non-repetitive. It can do wonders if the focus on quality and taste of the food is increased. Resort is great but is utilized 50% of its true potential. Location A+, Stay A, Pre-Booking support B+, and food is a solid D. If you can figure food this resort can touch a different level of greatness.

Wir hatten für 5 Tage ein Glas-Igloo, leider gab es in der Zeit keine Reinigung. Das fanden wir sehr schade. Uns hat auch ein A-la-carte Restaurant gefehlt, wo man zum Beispiel Nachmittags Kuchen und Eis bekommt. Die Hotel anlage ist sehr schön und lädt zum spazieren gehen ein. Alle Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich. Viele gut organisierte Outdoor Aktivitäten werden angeboten.

The peace and quiet experience and landscaping around property. Amazing place for spiritual retreat However lacking food quality and staff shortage or lack of service at restaurant and bar area. Needs staff all the time at bar. Waited 20 mins for a cappuccino and no-one in front of me please people. Change menu diversity for breakfast and try to hire chefs a la carte this will give this resort a 100 plus Please add tv in the rooms that is much needed when after dark theres nothing to do other than sleep and eat but if no tv and no good food service why go there Husky tour Reindeer tour Santa claus Skiing Ice fishing Ice breaker tour etc was all great but would not go back till new menu on restaurant (aurora) Overall is an amazing place to stay but once again it will make this resort a 5 star if the above was added Will i go back there

Igloo en verre agréable pour dormir avec une belle vue : l'environnement autour est agreable. Cest très joli et agréable. Une bonne expérience pour une nuit insolite. Petit point négatif dans la chambre igloo, il y avait une bouilloire et de quoi faire du café/thé mais aucun gobelet ni verre... donc au final pas de possibilité de se faire une boisson, avec des gobelets ou des verres ca serait plus pratique ! Laccueil à l'arrivée a ete déplorable : une première personne commence a soccuper de mon enregistrement, ensuite cette personne va s'occuper d'autres gens arrivés apres moi, et elle ne reviendra jamais... cest une collègue qui a pris le relais me voyant attendre. Heureusement au depart, le personnel a ete plus efficace et plus agréable. Pour le petit-déjeuner, ca passe (bon pancakes et bonne confiture) en revanche croissant beaucoup trop sec limite de plusieurs jours et mauvaises températures des plats chauds dans les bacs (oeufs, bacon, etc) qui sont froids

Horrendous service and no food for vegetarians
The only thing nice is the location and property however when it comes to Kakslauttanen (west village) staff they require a lesson on Hospitality, they were highly understaffed & outright rude behind the counter there was an Indian, a European and an Asian. The Indian lady who seems to be a manager needs to be taught how to smile and be courteous and needs to learn to talk to customers and learn manners (I over heard uncourteously boasting we are the first to make the glass igloo). We wanted to book excursions, the Asian lady made a face and replied you should have booked it online, she helped us after but that is so rude The European lady was the kindest and polite, the other two should learn from her. When it came to food,At breakfast there was bread, Jam, cereal, I requested for boiled eggs the hostess said she had only 3 so please take one (surprising in a hotel on Christmas you have 3 eggs) with hundreds of guests. For dinner for vegetarians there was steamed veggies, boiled and baked potato, and only cabbage rolls another day. We never visited the restaurant after these experiences. It is disappointing you pay thousands of euros and all you get is bad service and almost no food. Each and every couple that we met were disappointed and would recommend that you never visit this property, If you do then make sure that you carry your own food!!! To the hotel management, a customer expects service and not to be left hungry... I am a very dissatisfied customer
