We arrived after 7 pm and the staff at the reception area were so friendly and accommodating. We had not eaten supper and even though their restaurant was closed they made us a delicious fish. rice & beans, plus veggies dinner as well as fresh fruit drinks! Great experience, plus they also found us a personal tour guide to take us to Cartago to see some of the places of interest then onto our next stay! Thanks so much everyone.

Family of 5 (kids 14, 11 and 8) stayed 1 night before our flight back home. Simple, basic hotel. Friendly staff. Breakfast included, but we didn’t have a chance to try it because of an early flight. Dinner available, but you need to make your selections early so that it is ready when you want to eat. We made our selections at 4:30pm and it was ready for us when we arrived at 6. Pool was relatively small, but adequate. It had a nice waterfall feature. The water was cold, so the kids didn’t want to swim when we arrived at 4pm. If sun was shining on the pool it might have been ok. There were nice plants throughout the property. Pool table available Bathroom: it only had one type of soap in the shower. I brought small bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash, so this wasn’t a problem. Beds: hard and squeaky, but that didn’t bother me too much. My back needs a hard bed. The floors are tile. We could smell bleach and everything appeared to be clean. FYI: you can drive up to the closed garage door, there is an intercom system to request entry. Someone else mentioned it is in a sketchy part of town. It looked about the same as other towns in Costa Rica. Lots of kids/families on the sidewalks/ outside of buildings when we drove through town around 3:30. I felt safe. Drive to the airport took 10 minutes at 3:30 am. The street was very, very busy around 3:30pm the day before, so it would have probably taken 30 minutes at that time of day.

The hotel staff was super friendly and gave us a magnet ornament as a keepsake. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, and we really enjoyed our stay. There was some plane noise from the airport. We would stay here again!

The staff was very kind and helpful. Loved the free shuttle to the airport, the restaurant and the pool. The hotel is in a bit of a sketchy area, but they have a gate with ring cameras at the entrance. Very close to the airport so it’s perfect for an early flight! Very nice stay overall!

Staff were wonderful and restaurant food was great. Initially it was loud as very close to the airport. But improved immensely once night-time came. Not anything agajnst the hotel, just a sidenote.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an early morning checkout & they provided cereal fruit tea/coffee for us as we wouldn’t be there for breakfast. The property was clean but could do with some updating. Room was very basic. Pool & outside grounds were well looked after & very peaceful. Transport was arranged for our trip to to the airport on time. It was good for an overnight stay on our way to the airport.

Just book it!
My 5yo daughter and I stayed at Brillasol on our way back home from a jungle camping gathering in Uvita. This property is amazing and we will be back. The staff was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. I thought we would have a shuttle service from the airport but it was only available to the airport. Its quite possible this was the case bc we had a same day booking. We enjoyed the pool and smoothies. We took a walk to get lunch offsite as there was a few restaurants close by. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. It was such a cute little gem, i cant wait to come back.

Like a small garden haven in the middle of the city. We used this hotel as our first night in Costa Rica after a late flight in. We came late for check in and someone was waiting up for us. Comfortable beds. Lovely atmosphere. Good breakfast with delicious fresh fruit. We will stay here again on our way out of Costa Rica.

My Go-To Oasis
Hotel Brilla Sol is my "go-to" hotel everytime I visit Costa Rica on the night of arrival and the night before departure. It is a casual, comfortable oasis. If you want high end modern, this is not your place. But you can relax here.

The staff was very nice. Nice outdoor space and a pool table. Restaurant on site was not bad. Most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on in my entire life; even worse than the floor mat in Guatemala.
