Adorable studio in great location
I took a 5 day class at Marina Village and thoroughly enjoyed the 1 mile walk to and from every day. Fantastic coffee trailer (Bean Me Up) around the corner where I stopped every morning. The bed was super comfortable and the cottage has everything you need. The ramen restaurant across the street was so good, I ate there 3 nights!

OB Studio Gem
I recently spent a few days at this property for the xmas holiday. It came as advertised--no surprises! The property was ideal for a single person, but would suffice for a couple as well. A short 5 min walk directly down vibrant Voltaire St. to the beach. Or, ten minutes to the main stretch of Newport Ave., you can't beat this location!

Absolutely amazing property! Very cute and and awesome neighborhood! Plenty of food places all around! Perfect little getaway 4 minutes walking from the beach! The only downside is the bed is a little uncomfortable but that is purely personal preference!

An ok place to stay
The room was a pretty cute place but the bathroom could use some updating and a little better cleaning. I like the kitchen and sleeping space. The major downside for me was the lack of parking. Finding a space on the street close by was not always the easiest and I was constantly worried about where we would park.

Decent location, checked out early due to issues
My girlfriend and I rented out this cute studio for our 1-year anniversary with the intent on walking & exploring Ocean Beach, however we had a couple issues that forced us to leave early. - Skylight: not mentioned in the description, there's a skylight directly over the bed which wakes you up as soon as the sun rises. The owner placed curtains over the bed to help, but they are transparent, whyyyy??? - Mosquitos: within 10 minutes of arriving we both were bit about a dozen times. We closed the windows to prevent them from entering but then it was muggy and hot in the unit. - Kitchen: as mentioned previously, there just isn't quality kitchenware. Everything is cheap and minimal. - Cleaning: I still don't get why we're asked to "do the dishes and take out the trash" if we're paying a cleaning fee? Either get rid of the fee and ask us to clean, or charge a fee and let us live. - Bonus! Communication: DM'd the owner to ask if we could adjust our stay to add the night before and come a day early. They responded yes with the price. Then after a lengthy and weird phone call where the (manager?) kept repeating herself, she asked me to text the updated dates to her, which I did. The next day she called me and in another weird incoherent conversation said the unit was rented already and they couldn't extend my trip. Due to these issues we decided to drive back home a day early. Won't be renting here again. 2-stars for the location in proximity to Ocean Beach.

Best for walk-only travelers.
I bailed on this place after one night; it just wasn't good for us as a base for a week of exploring San Diego. - Beach is a 15-minute walk (minimum) through a busy neighborhood with heavy traffic and a lot of homeless people. I was envisioning being able to walk over any time we had an hour to kill. - Kitchen has the appliances but nothing to really make food with. I wasn't expecting to make fancy meals but was hoping to save money by cooking on the trip instead of eating out. Didn't even have a mixing bowl or a cookie sheet. - Parking is a nightmare. I really don't want to spend 15 minutes circling the surrounding blocks looking for a space when I'm on vacation. - Asked the host if there were streets that consistently had parking available and was told to park in front of the building. I'm not an idiot, f it was that easy I wouldn't have asked. - I don't know if we caught San Diego at an especially warm period, but the rental was very hot and stuffy even when the outside temperature was quite comfortable. I had all the windows open and the one tower fan provided on high right in front of the open door and it didn't do anything to draw in the cool night air and make the space more comfortable. Couldn't leave the door open overnight for safety concerns. The buildings in this area are tightly packed together and the idea of breezes cooling everything is wishful thinking. -Jet noise is constant until late at night. -Host didn't respond when I asked about checking out early.

Lovely stay, short walk to the beach!
Greta location if you’re staying in OB for a weekend!! Right across the street for a food co op (amazing mango salsa there), and then only a 16 mins walk to the beach. Bunch of cute shops and coffee places along the street as you walk. And the beach that’s close is a DOG BEACH!!! So many cute dogs, it was fantastic.

This was a perfect little place to stay for just a quick trip. Loved walking to the local coffee shop and the beach. Bed was comfortable. It’s very bright and certainly not quiet due to the air planes and close proximity to the laundry.

This is a great little spot to crash. It was walking distance to the beach and anything else you need. We had a small issue when we checked in but the owner resolved it quickly and professionally. If you plan on sleeping in, bring earplugs as it is in the flight path of the airport. We are early risers so it didn't bother us too bad. We would stay again.

Cute cozy little BOHO. A bit of a jog to the beach if you have stuff and parking can be a little tricky, follow the signs. A few of the furnishings were worn and we could have used more ice trays, but all and all, we had a wonderful stay and would stay again.

Walkable to all things OB
We were in town for two nights and really enjoyed our stay at this property. It’s walkable to everything in Ocean Beach and a very short drive to other San Diego neighborhoods. Parking can be a bit tricky but overall we had no issues. Lots of cute shops, good coffee, good eats, and very close to the beach.

Efficient space nearby to beach
My 9 yes old son & I stayed at the property due to location to the beach. A short walk to great sand as well as easy freeway location to other popular San Diego sites. Small efficient property with street parking, but was exactly as described. We just needed a touchdown space to sleep with access to a kitchen. Not a "kid friendly" property, but we knew that going in.

So pleasant. Just what I needed.
Pros: So much walking to do in the neighborhood and very easy to explore OB. There was a co-op right across the street with amazing food. The beach was a .5 mile walk and there were cute coffee shops along the way to make the walk a breeze. The owners were so helpful. They let me drop my bags off early and text me during my stay to see if everything was going good. Con: Not much but parking for tourists can be intimidating. If you’re not familiar with the area, parking can be intimidating. Just pay attention to the street signs and you’ll be good. Other than that the trip was perfect. :) Thank you for your hospitality.

Cheery studio apartment with all the amenities.
I so enjoyed both the roominess and the brightness of your apartment. It was clean, and the amenities were perfect for me. It was so convenient to have the Organic Grocery Store so close. The walk to the beach is a bit longer but doable and allowed me to get the feel of the neighborhood. The location at OB was perfect for driving to the events I was attending. I appreciated hearing about the street sweeper schedule and how to navigate it. I will definitely contact you when I need to stay in your area again. Thank you. ~ Nan Neighbours

Worst experience: loud noise prevents relaxation / rest; poor parking & communication
High points: property as pictured - cozy feel. The kitchen makes eating in easy. Location convenient to all areas. Low points: 1) Airplanes create deafening noise 6:30am-10:00pm, especially 6:30-7:00am. With windows/door shut, it woke me out of a sound sleep each day at 6:30am sharp. I live 1/2 block from a 6-lane major street in a large city and never have trouble sleeping or holding conversations inside, as I did here. Listing should include noise warnings. 2) Limited parking. Post: "Plenty of street parking" not our experience. We had to park in a 15-min zone and carry luggage across busy street on arrival, then wait with the car for 20 min for a spot. Host offered a space out back, but the next day that space was also full. Posting should state parking is limited. 3) Bright skylight above bed prevented sleep. As near any busy street, light is ever present. Posting should mention skylight that shines on bed, so visitors who need a dark sleeping space may choose another property. 4) Other noise and light made the situation worse. Public washing machine sits against the outer wall of the kitchen, creating noise and vibration inside. Motion light for that area shines through bathroom window at night. 5) Plumbing issues (host did offer to send a repair person). The kitchen sink backed up with dirty water, containing bits of food and hair, when the washing machine outside was in use. 6) Misleading and insensitive communication from host. As exhausted educators, we just couldn't muster the energy to look for another place once settled. But as all these issues built up, on the third morning we had had it. I asked for a refund due to misleading post information. The host asked why we didn't say something right away, which makes sense, but we were trying to make the best of it. She then said, "I think you would be happier somewhere else tonight," and "we have never had problems with parking," or other concerns. The first statement sounded insensitive at best, and the second was clearly false. In fact, the first 'RULE' on the "House Rules" sheet (not shown on posting) reads, "Please READ/VERIFY street parking signs to avoid tickets, example: NO PARKING Wed & Fri between 7am-10am." (caps are host's) Clearly, others have had LOTS of issues, which host denied. We would still like a refund for this stay, due to an awful experience that would have been avoided with any of these issues accurately described in posting. We simply would have booked elsewhere.

Jennifer wow, we are speechless, we typically have 5 star reviews. Glad you found the cottage cozy and as pictured. Yes, Jennifer did asked for a full refund after staying for three days which we found odd because she was leaving the next morning and never made us aware of any issues. We truly do our best to accommodate all our guest. 1. There is always plenty of street parking available, with the exception of summer, one may have to park a few cars down. (A little exercise is always good for the soul). 2. There is a skylight above the cottage which makes it not dark. 3. No, there is not a public washing machine next door. We conveniently have a coin operated washer/dryer for our guest which is one unit away. 4. Yes, we do have a motion light for safety and for our late night guest checking in. 5. When asked if we could have our property manager stop by she said no. 6. I personally tried to call Jennifer several time, she refused to answer my call and would only communicate through VRBO (I think she wanted to have a her vacation would be free). 7. We did offer a refund if she wanted to check out early. 9. Once again Jennifer, we apologize for any inconvenience. 10. Ocean Beach really has a good vibe, we hope you enjoyed being only three blocks away for the ocean and staying on one of the most popular streets in OB.
