Beautiful house & gardens
We had a fantastic stay in this house. The house was a good size, nice decor, good air con and good Wi-Fi. The gardens & grounds were huge - lots to explore for all ages and the pool was out of this world. Big enough to hold family races! Highly recommended - loved every moment of it.

A wonderful holiday
My family and I (grand parents, parents & children) recently stayed at The Bergerie and had a wonderful time. The house is very comfortable with large bedrooms, comfortable large beds and air conditioning. There are two master bedrooms with large en-suites, and two further bedrooms with their own bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped with both an internal and external seating area. The lounge has comfortable seating, a modern TV with Netflix etc and a Wi-Fi with speed fast enough to satisfy a very fussy teenager. The house is fantastic but it’s the outside area that makes this house special. The pool is very large and heated so it felt like swimming in bath water! It is surrounded by lawn and gardens large enough for evening football and rounders games. The house is surrounded by vineyards so it is very quiet and private but close enough to civilisation that my daughter walked to the horse riding stable at end of the lane and hacked past the house. We also discovered a neighbouring vineyard that hosts wine tasting sessions and a Michelin starred restaurant in the next village along (an easy cycle). We loved this house, it was very relaxing and peaceful but there was still plenty for all of us to do. We have already decided to do a return trip next year.

Wonderful Summer Getaway at Bergerie Provencale
I had the pleasure of staying at Bergerie Provencale this summer and it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless and welcoming. The level of flexibility shown during check-in was impressive, making us feel at ease right from the beginning. Nestled in a serene and tranquil environment, the property's calm ambiance provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Its strategic location near the region's key tourist spots was a huge advantage. The villa's design left us in awe. It was also equipped with all the amenities one could ask for. The refreshing coolness of the house was especially appreciated during the warm summer days. Of course, the highlight of our stay was the magnificent pool. Its sheer size was truly impressive, providing ample space for relaxation and enjoyment. The joy of spending lazy afternoons by the poolside with loved ones is a memory I will cherish. While our stay was overwhelmingly positive, there are a few areas that could be enhanced. The quality of the bedding could be improved to match the overall luxury experience of the villa. Additionally, the presence of a pool cleaning robot would ensure that the pool remains pristine throughout the stay. Lastly, a more comfortable arrangement in the pool house would elevate the overall comfort level of the outdoor space. The positives far outweigh any minor shortcomings. I can't wait to return and relive the magic of this remarkable villa.

Ehemaliges Bauernhaus in schöner Umgebung
Wir haben das Haus eine Woche im Sommer genutzt. Die Lage, die Umgebung und der große Pool sind sehr schön. Leider ist vor unserer Ankunft der Außenbereich nicht gereinigt worden, die Reinigung des Pools erfolgte auch leider erst kurz vor unserer Abreise. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist einfach, z.T. macht sich ein gewisser Renovierungsstau bemerkbar.

Hi Volker, Thank you for your review. In the South of France we are subject to ‘Mistral’ winds which do blow the leaves around, especially in large gardens with mature trees. Our house manager visited the house the day after you contacted us to sweep up all the leaves and clean leaves from the pool. We have a large team managing our outside area for your enjoyment including a Gardner, House Manager and Pool firm who attend weekly. I am glad you enjoyed the large pool and garden - they are very beautiful! Thank you. Melanie.

Mooi huis
Het huis had veel charme en een mooie tuin. Echter was het niet netjes, in de oven lagen nog kruimels en vettig. Het werkblad eveneens vettig te zien aan de keukenrol die er stond de BBQ was niet gereinigd alsook het poolhuis waar meedere spinnewebben hingen. Spijtig want het huis heeft veel potentieel.

Wunderbares Haus in traumhafter Umgebung
Das großzügige, geschmackvoll möblierte Haus mit einem großen, beheizten Pool und sehr schönen Außenanlagen ließ wirklich keine Wünsche offen. Die Kommunikation mit Vermieter und Betreuer vor Ort war problemlos und der Aufenthalt in jeder Hinsicht gelungen. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Beautiful bergerie in Provence
The house, its decorations and outside area are lovely. It’s the classic Provençal stone/stucco house in a very private setting, with a large yard, play area for children, boules court and swimming pool with pool house. Our only problem was being so far from Roussillon or any other village that we always had to drive if we wanted to eat in a restaurant or shop. If you want peace and quiet and want to “park” yourself in a great place, this is the house for you!

Lovely house
We stayed here one week with family and our one year old daughter. We were the first guests after the lockdown so there were some teething problems but the house itself is amazing. The layout it is perfect for families, you stay in one house but everyone has their own space/bathroom etc. Garden/pool is wonderful.We loved it.

The house is well kept, very private, comfortable, convenient, quiet and spacious for 7 adults. The kitchen and living area are well appointed and the pool is super. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks and hope to return.

Semaine très agréable au cœur du Lubéron.
Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Christian qui nous a donné quelques indications sur la gestion de la maison. La maison en tant que tel est très joliment décorée, super bien située (au grand calme) entre Joucas et Roussillon. Très facile pour les balades, visites et autres. A quelques km d’Apt ou Coustellet pour les courses alimentaires. La piscine est très agréable et de bonne taille. A recommander vivement! Les points à améliorer sont les suivants: - le Wifi qui est super lent (pas très bien vu par les ados & co) - le matériel de cuisine est trop sommaire pour quelqu’un qui aime un peu cuisiner.... ce qui est mon cas (pas de presse agrumes, pas de mixeur/batteur,...)

Catherine, merci, je suis ravie que vous ayez apprécié votre séjour à la maison. La région sera de plus en plus connectée à Internet - Fibre en septembre et je suis désolée que ce ne soit pas prêt pour vos vacances! Nous n’avons jamais reçu de demande de mixeur / battery mais nous allons certainement en acheter un et le laisser dans le garde-manger pour les futurs invités. Je vous remercie. Mélanie et Neil.

Beautiful house in the heart of the Luberon
We enjoyed a wonderful stay here at La Bergerie. It's a beautiful house which looks every bit as good in the flesh as it does in the photos. What the photos and description can't get across truly is the scale of the garden and grounds, which is fantastic, and allows a view across to Roussillon (just over a mile away). We made very good use of the pool, which is large enough for a proper swim and beautifully set with just the right amount of landscaping for a bit of shade in the hot afternoons (it was hitting 35° C+ each day we were there). Inside, the four bedrooms are well set apart. The master suite in its own wing, another en suite bedroom upstairs, and two bedrooms sharing an en suite, which is great for families. Would recommend the bigger markets at L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and Loumarin particularly (worth the drives). Almost every village nearby is picture postcard beautiful; Gordes a little touristy, but Roussillon lovely for a gentle potter and a nice glass of something cold watching a performance in the town square. Would love to return.

Beautiful Villa but beware of the dog
We stayed here in June 2019. The villa is beautiful as is the pool and gardens. The villa is very spacious and all bedrooms are clean and good room available. It is well equipped with modern appliances and air conditioning. Good supply of towels, bedding and tableware. I would say that you do need a car for staying here. The nearest main town is Roussillon and takes over 1/2 hour to walk to and in the summer months can be too hot during the day. The pool is heated so lovely for a early morning dip or staying in all day! Only word of caution I would have is around the experience we had of a neighbour’s dog. My husband and I were nearly attacked when a Rottweiler mixed breed dog jumped out of its owners hedge and went for us. It was a pretty frightening experience and had we not backed away and the owner come out and call the dog off I do think it would have attacked us. A few nights later the dog came into our garden. There were two main issues here, one we were unable to walk outside of the property to the main road for fear of the dog coming out again and the potential for it coming into our garden. We had a 10 year old child with us and it was a concern for her and our safety. We have reported this to the owner and house manager who advised that it has been reported to the local authority. I am not sure how effective this will be in ensuring the owner of the dog controls its movements. This in it’s self is not a reason not to book the villa, but maybe to seek assurances from the Villa’s owners as to what measures are being taken to support guests safety.

Gillian, thanks very much for your review, I am very pleased you enjoyed your holiday. With regards the dog, as you know we have no close neighbours however Christian (the house manager) visited the few houses down the lane to track down the mystery dog. Having found the house in question it turns out that the dog was a Labrador visiting with family for the week and not a permanent resident. The owners explained that the dog is excitable but not aggressive and apologised for not ‘dog proofing’ their garden during its short stay. I hope this sets your mind at rest. Beautiful house in a beautiful area!
The house is perfectly located in the centre of Provence and we loved it! We are a family with two small children and found the house perfect for our needs and very safe. The house is at the end of a private lane with no neighbours making it extremely quiet and perfect for out kids to cycle up and down. We loved going each day to get fresh bread at the local bakeries and enjoyed a walk up to Joucas for lunch. Cannot wait to return and have already booked for next year.

Even better than we hoped...
After a mammoth journey where lack of sleep the previous week led to matchstick propped eyelids that required 2 hourly Autoroute espresso top up's to keep the show on the road in one piece, we finally got within a few kilometres of La Bergerie Provencal. Our tired hearts soared when we saw the landscape of hills, red sand and pines lit by the orange early evening sun. The beautiful hilltop town of Gordes passed by and we descended with Roussillon in our sights.....then we got lost. No matter, spirits were high as we doubtfully drove into a small lane that after a few houses seemed to go nowhere. Just a bit further and ready to do a U-TURN the kids shouted 'thats it!'. Thank God...we crunched up the drive beyond the gates with relief, and knew we'd made a good choice before we'd set a foot on the ground.... Simple, stylish and traditional décor in the house makes you feel at home immediately. Each bedroom has its own character, lovely ensuite bathrooms and comfy linen.. Cosy lounge, lovely sofa's and DVD's for when your 14yrold Netflix Junkie son needs some screen time, although with a pool and garden as lovely as La Bergerie's, even he didn't feel the need for three days straight! More than enough towels, crockery, cooking equipment etc...nice filter coffee machine and big fridge with water filter and ice dispenser to keep your Rosé chilled...Even a BBQ Nitwit like me managed a fine steak or two on the gas burner that sits out on the terrace...best holiday we've had in years. If only we could have turned down the volume of the Cicadas, Jeez! Thanks Neil and Mel.. The Parsons...(Family, not vicars)

I saw the photos online and could hardly believe that this place was going to be as good as it looked - but it was! We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children, aged 4 and 18 months respectively. The accommodation is both private and flexible, so that it would suit almost any combination of guests. There is plenty of space so that we never felt on top of one another and plenty of room in the garden for the children to run around (when they weren't in the pool!). The children's play area was an added bonus. The pool is something else-graduated and with steps at the shallow end for the children but large enough and deep enough for adults too. The setting is fabulous and it was a real treat to open the bedroom doors onto the garden and pop into the pool for an early morning dip. Rousillion with its supermarket, pretty shops and restaurants is only a few minutes (uphill) drive away but the villa itself is in a very rural position with no noise or light pollution. Christian, the house manager is both charming and multilingual and was able to conjure up a plumber at short notice when we had a problem with one of the showers. What's not to like? We're hoping to book again for next year.......

A peaceful slice of Provence
Allow mw to start this review by saying La Provencal Bergerie, Hameau Du Trabail, Roussillon is a lovely house with a beautiful, private pool and a spacious yard and that I would recommend it to almost everyone. If you're looking for a very comfortable house to crash at night, this is your place. However, and here's the rub, if your looking for something that feels like a home, a place where meals can be prepared and tables can be set this might not be the right place for you. Pros: Location, location, location. I can't tell you how many day trip locations were within a 30 minute drive. Very comfortable beds. Wonderful sofas for those evenings when it's just a bit chilly for the patio. Beautiful heated pool, (though we were visiting during a cool snap and even with the water at 83 degrees it was a bit too cold.) Cons. Towels. We were provided with one bath towel per person. No wash clothes, hand towels or bath mats. And the big fail, at least for our group, were the wine glasses. Tiny 6 or 8 ounce wine glasses were all they had to offer. We poured over wines to bring home for dinner each evening and the wine glasses were just pathetic. Please take this review not as a condemnation of the property but instead our failing to find exactly what we were looking for. As I said. I would recommend the property to almost anyone.

Bob, thank you for your review, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Each guest is supplied with one Bath Towel, One Pool Towel and a Hand Towel. We are not sure that guests would want to use face / wash cloths if we supplied them and in our experience this is the kind of personal item most people bring themselves. It is great that you were enjoying the local wines and apologies for the wine glasses being too small for you. These are very normal bistro glasses that are used all across France and they have the benefit of fitting in the dishwasher which I know is convenient for guests. I am afraid the best course of action may be to just keep refilling them regularly with those great local wines! We look forward to welcoming you again soon! Melanie & Neil

Perfection in Provence
We cannot recommend this place highly enough - in over a decade of holidaying every year in the Luberon this is the best place we have found. It combines a stunning interior with a lovely garden and pool area. It is in grounds large enough to offer complete privacy and solitude but with a village just a few minutes drive away with a bakery, butcher and a good choice of places to eat. Well situated for many of the fantastic markets and for anyone who is a wine lover the options are endless. We are returning for our third stay next year.

Pleasing to the eye with all physical comforts available also
Our stay was delightful. The villa is beautifully and tastefully laid out, both inside and out and all the mod cons and basics are in place to make your stay comfortable and easy. Attention is obviously paid to detail over this aspect, which we much appreciated. The swimming pool was a huge success with both myself, my children and grandchildren and I found both the local contact person and the owner very supportive,informative and helpful both in connection with the local area and any problems/difficultes. Our stay was a huge success and we found the villa to be delightful, as indeed was the surrounding area. I would not hesitate to repeat the experience and to recommend it to friends..

mooi huis in een rustige straat met alles wat een mens nodig heeft voor een aangenaam verblijf!
de woning in een prachtige omgeving, met mooi onderhouden tuin, een zeer vriendelijke en bereikbare concierge, nette keuken en badkamers, zorgde ervoor dat we een zorgeloze week in de Luberon konden doorbrengen. ideaal om met de ganse familie rustig te genieten van het mooie weer bij het zwembad en de lavendel!

Lovely and peaceful
Excellent Villa- large, spacious, beautiful setting and wonderfully traditional in design. The 3 areas of the house suited 3 couples very well. A little more attention to detail would have made it perfect eg pool cover and toaster broken, limited instructions, not enough hand towels provided, insufficient cutlery, no welcome pack - which you would expect at this price. But generally this didn't detract from the lovely holiday we all had

Stay in Provence
The villa is lovely and spacious. Plenty of room and the grounds are well maintained. A few minor hitches did not detract from the enjoyment. Christian (the manager) was very friendly and approachable. Lovely.
