The hotel looks very nice on arrival at car park. Reception area is beautiful and the hotel looks very inviting and comfortable. The guy on reception at the time we arrived appeared very inexperienced . We approached the desk I immediately said hello , have my name and advised we had a reservation. He was so busy with an accordion file although he was facing me, did not acknowledge me, then turned away to dump the file which wouldn't stand up so he proceeded to bump it up n down until it did with a few exasperated tuts and moans.... Then asked our name gave the key. Really not the best welcome. The room was nice, rather dull, bad lighting, little change of colour and freshed up would go a long way...bed was very comfortable. Nice touch there was a water dispenser both still n sparkling in the area near our room. Breakfast was limited although all you really needed, the dining area is very very nicely and the terrace overlooks the river is great, sadly as the motorway is immediately beside the hotel the noise does detracting from a serine area on the terrace. Altogether, yes we would book again

I'm not impressed this trip. I stayed here before a few years ago, and it was fine, but last night was a different story. Obviously they were busy as we were changed from double to twin rooms. We had rooms that appear not to be used often. Heating was off with radiator in awkward place and dirty. No phone in the room. Also very tight bathroom, it was fine for one person but just. Remote control didnt work with the TV. Overall the hotel needs a little tlc. This is not an indiction on the staff who were very friendly.

The reception staff were all helpful and friendly. My room was spacious and clean all very comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious only problem was a short flight of stairs which I did manage- think to avoid them would have to go outside from reception to a lower outside door . I would recommend staying here

Hotel was ok, quite a nice restaurant, the rooms were ok albeit a bit dated although traditional. The beds were ok, not that comfortable to be honest. A bit hard. The hot water in the shower was intermittent and it must be shared with others as during the shower it went scolding hot then back to normal without changing the taps. The restaurant must have been busy as 3-4 items on the food menu were out of stuck, plus low on wines too. Bit of refurbishment throughout the hotel would be good. Friendly staff throughout. Thanks

Comfy bed, carpet in room could do with a hoover, bits kept sticking to my feet. Bathroom was clean. Drunk annoying man in bar swearing at us, can’t believe staff were still serving him! Otherwise staff nice and helpful.

Good points. Family room size was great, it was nice and dark. That's were the positives end. The breakfast service was terrible, not the usual MacDonald experience, ended nearly an hour early without warning to accommodate a football teams stay. The window in the room did not close fully, leaving a draught on our youngest. No management present when requested.

Easy to access location. Nice building inside and out. Lovely staff. Inside layout and signage a bit confusing. Need a code to leave by vehicle, but not to enter (make sure you remember the code, or just ask reception if you forget). Sometimes had to wait for reception staff if it was quiet. Room was excellent: clean, functional and nice!

Well placed just off the motorway Rooms well priced I don’t like having to pay an extra £13 to ensure a refundable status for the booking The lift has a strange odour as does the 3rd floor around the lift area The atmosphere of the hotel is slightly underwhelming and the staff differ in service level provision

Convenient but basic
Hotel is ok. Had room overlooking the river which was nice. However we booked a double room and the bed was uncomfortable, as dipped in the middle. Room was tired and old. Cooked breakfast was lovely and staff were all friendly and helpful.

Hot than hell i believe!!
The staff were excellent in fact couldn’t have been better . The hotel location is fantastic for traveling up or down the m6 . I had a river view very nice . The hotel is very very tired but that was reflected in the price . I thought the dinner and wine to be London price not good value at all . My god the room temperature was so hot sauna standards couldn’t put down or open the window basically if they could put the heating down they could half the price for eating .

Awful smell just when you are about to go to the lift. Property need major upgrading and food and house keeping service not great. Good side is it’s peaceful and staff is friendly.

Wi-fi was very poor, kept dropping out and it was very frustrating when trying to work. When opening the window the 2 inches or so that was possible, it did make it very noisy as the hotel is next to a petrol station and main road/motorway. Staff & service was very good. Food was good.
