The hotel itself is nicely updated, clean, and quiet. The location is great with lots of walkable sites. The valet parking was a nightmare the day we arrived. We circled the block for 30 minutes and eventually ended up paying for parking in a nearby garage and walking.

Staff was rude when we checked in. Two women standing at the desk talking to each other. Won’t acknowledge us for a minute or two and then to check us in they asked for ID and then said you need to pay the deposit and then handed us our key without saying anything else. There was no directions to our room, letting us know what time check out was, what was available as far as dinning options. Nothing. So rude! We didn’t feel welcomed at all!

I don’t like the fact that they charge 55$ a night for parking! Also - they charged me early check in fee , even when I was checking in an hour before noon when they supposedly don’t charge a fee .

My stay was incredible here. I was in a bit of a dilemma with the person I was staying with and the front desk and security were so helpful in making me feel safe and helping me get another room for myself. Specifically Azriel at the front desk was a lovely person and I’m glad I was able to have the pleasure of being assisted by them. Will definitely be coming back to this hotel should I come back to Portland.

My family and I live in Longview wa and once a month we randomly make a one to two day stay in Portland just to get away. We mostly stay in nice high end hotels in Portland. Our visit to the Hilton was hands down the worst experience thus far. To start we booked a king size bed with a corner view. What we received was a queen bed in the smallest room on earth. We had our seven year old daughter with so my wife requested a rollaway bed. The response we received was “well we don’t typically offer that. If that’s something you must have we’re going to charge you $25.” When I went down to the front desk they had young teenagers in street clothes who seemed less interested in helping me with my situation and more interested in joking around and talking with her friends. It only got worse from there. We had dinner reservations at 7:20 and when we tried to call up our car from valet it took them over 40 minutes to pull my car up. After we returned from dinner, walking down the hall to our hotel room a strong odor of cigarette and marijuana was present in the hallway, and in several of the rooms you could hear loud noises as if somebody was having a party. I’ve stayed at Hilton hotels in the past, and I can say Barun. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with the Hilton Nel and I highly doubt I’ll ever return.

The online registration didn’t say that there is only valet parking available. Which was $55 extra on top of the hill. And the bathroom has water damage and a hole in the ceiling. Air conditioning did not work. Had to sleep with window open all night

The Cold Hotel
The heat went down on the hotel, around 12:30 pm. I called reception Around 3pm to Get an update, because the room was super cold. but hey said it will be back on in a couple of hours. I called again around 7pm. And they said again a couple of hours. At 10pm i went to the reception. And they said again in a couple of hours. They offer some blankets. I had to sleep in the room freezing. The heat dint come on till the following day baround 10:30am. They didnt offer any cortezy call or anything. I took my stuff at 11am. And just left the hotel. Will never come back.

Ouch, not what I anticipated
Hilton members beware. Do not expect this location to be at the level you have been accustomed to. My room was a patchwork of updates with an ill functioning HVAC unit, One soft towel and the rest needing to be retired. No room service. Food quality from the restaurant was extremely lackluster considering they report having an actual “chef” operating it. I could go on. I am not one to leave reviews, this may be the second ever. Sincerely disappointed.

Hilton was very subpar in Portland staff were friendly and that was about it their heaters stopped working in all the rooms and we asked about it the front desk simply said “it’s hard to keep the hotel heated it’s a big place.” The ceiling was leaking water for over a day from the lights in the lobby. The bar/restaurant took over a hour to bring the food and drinks with barely any customers. They didn’t accommodate us at all. 2/5 stars. Like I said the staff were really friendly and nice but just not a good experience
