Veldig flott sted i vakre omgivelser
Dette var et veldig flott, veldig brittisk hotell som ligger vakkert til nær elven Thames. Ligger lantlig til, men kort gangvei til den lokale pubben. Med taxi er var det omtrent 10-15 min inn til Oxford. Det var godt tilrettelagt for å gå/løpe/cykle langs andre siden av elven i fantastisk engelsk natur. I alt et veldig flott sted for de som er glad i den engelske "country side".

Fantastisk sted for business trip
Etter flere opphold på De Vere velger jeg å komme tilbake gang på gang når jeg besøker Oxford på jobbreise. Hotellet er smakfullt innredet og uteområdet er også meget pent. Det er tilgang gå basseng, spa og trimrom; sengene er gode og rommene er romslige. Deler av rommene har eldre standard på badet. Frokosten er meget god men mangler noe grønnsaker til å score helt topp.

Ligger ca 15 minutter med taxi fra Oxford sentrum.
Buss hvert 20 min utenfor hotellet. Pent og tradisjonelt vakkert hotell i landlig omgivelser, men for langt unna sentrum. Beregn ca 30 GBP per dag T/R(ca NOK 270) Taxi må bestilles og tar ca 15 til 20 minutter fra ordre til ankomst hotellet. Ingen alternative spisesteder rundt hotellet eller i umiddelbar nærhet. Noe støy fra togtrafikken.

Oxford Thames Four Pillars - påsken 2011
Jeg hadde tre fantastiske dager på Oxford Thames Four Pillars i påsken. Stedet ligger flott til like ved Themsen. Det er fine turmuligheter i området og følger du Thamesen opp 4-5 km så kommer du til Oxford. Det er også buss mulighet rett utenfor hotellet slik at du kan komme deg effektivt opp til Universitetsbyen. Rommet vi bodde på var stort med utsikt til en flott hage. Det ble gjort rent hver dag mens vi spiste frokost. Hyggelig personale og muligheter for å svømme og ta et boblebad. Jeg likte meg godt og vil anbefale stedet til alle som ønsker å komme seg litt bort fra storbyen for litt fred og ro.

Stunning setting - poor service
Stayed for four nights, attending a training on premises. Beautiful setting with gardens along the Thames, very nice walk into Oxford. The hotel is quiet and peaceful. The staff seems very young, they are very friendly, but not well trained (or supervised). Examples: In an almost empty breakfast room my tea never arrived after 15 minutes (even after several requests). One afternoon my room was not made up, they quickly showed up to fix it, though. I will go back.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Room was very spacious and well decorated, breakfast was delicious and the staff were ever so attentive! And the hotel offered us some delicious honeycomb made from their own honey!

Nice property away from the main road and close to the river Thames. Welcoming reception, decent sized rooms, some with terraces and balconies. Pleasant Spa and pool. Good food, beautifully presented. Comprehensive breakfast.

Comfortable with a great breakfast
Really comfy bed, great breakfast. Probably the only thing I could say is it was very cold in the main Reception/Hall area. Such a lovely seating area but too cold to stay sat there for more than one drink.

They charge now for parking £7 EVERY NIGHT - how ridiculous is that. It is a field in a village. Won’t be staying again - what a cheap way to rip off customers.

Hi Mark, Thank you for leaving this feedback. We implemented the parking charge following our updates to our car park security system, and also to support our hotels green initiatives to reduce our impact on the environment. We were one of the last hotels in Oxford to implement a parking charge, as all other hotels regarless of their location also charge anywhere from 5 to 30 per night for parking. I hope that you did enjoy your stay apart from this, and if you do change your mind and would like to stay again, please note that you are able to book a package which has the parking included so you will not have to pay for this on arrival.

Very Disappointing
A really very disappointing experience for our stay at Oxford VOCO Thames , we made our reservation through hotel.com, the room type that we booked is "Premium Room, 1 King Bed, River View". When we checked in, we were told that there are no room with river view were available. The hotel should have better management to ensure the room type that we paid for is available when we arrive ! This was a really bad experience.

Lovely Oxford Stay
What a great stay - Every single member of staff we met was friendly, polite & helpful. The hotel is a fantastic building, in a lovely quiet setting next to the river but with very easy access to the city and surrounding attractions. Breakfast service was well organised with a good choice of hot & cold food.

Lovely hotel but garden rooms have thin walls
Overall we had a nice stay. We had 2 nights. Saturday & Sunday. Our 3 course meal in the Napier restaurant was excellent!! Our first night was in a garden room. The room was nice. Bed and bedding all very clean & comfy. However these rooms have extremely thin walls. We were kept awake all night because the neighbours both sides were noisy. One side was even talking loudly on his phone at 4am. We did complain to management and they dealt with it swiftly. But our nights sleep had been ruined and my husband had to be up and out at 8am for an appointment. We were seriously considering cancelling our 2nd nights stay and going home early. However the excellent staff rallied around. A customer service manager called Claire approached us at breakfast and apologised profusely for the rough night. She arranged for us to move to a room which was larger and had proper walls! It was in the Church wing. A really lovely room, and yes it was quiet. So we stayed for our second night and had a better sleep. The breakfast on both mornings was excellent. The staff were excellent. Especially Claire! The bar food was also really good if a bit pricey. So I would recommend this hotel but if you value your sleep then don’t choose a garden room. Also a special thank you to Akisha in the restaurant who helped me with a query when I rang after our stay. She was extremely helpful.

The hotel and staff was very nice. Wish they had a jacuzzi too. The carpets in the room we stayed in the garden section could with a wash. Otherwise it was all so clean and lovely. Loved it that a bus goes into Oxford and back from just outside the hotel gate. Thank you for looking after us.

Attention to room details required
Room run down. Main light didn't work, TV kept turning off, shower head wouldn't stay up and extractor fan didn't work. We ordered room service from the phone in the room and were hung up on. We told the receptionist the above who just replied "thank you for letting us know" no apilogies. The reception building and the bar was beautiful. Was disappointed no jacuzzi in the "spa" google pictures and reviews show one. The hotel has a lot of potential but more attention to detail is definitely required.

It is a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting. Generally the staff was very helpful except some British friends of ours were trying to get in touch with us and left three messages with the reception staff. None of them were delivered to us, even though we specifically asked if we'd received any messages.

Return to Voco
We like the garden room at the Voco which is in a separate secure area, and insulated from functions taking place, such as weddings! The new parking scheme is a bit awkward (£8/day), says have to register in 10 minutes which isn't possible with a desk queue. Our key cards stopped working after 1 day. Overall, we will return.

Couldn't fault the staff,the food, the room with a very comfy bed. Only downside was we stopped on a Saturday night when a wedding reception was on. Quite a bit of noise and people outside in the early hours.
