First, I will say the breakfast was very nice and our family appreciated that. Second our room was clean at arrival, which was good. However, the night we arrived the smoke detector in our room, was beeping and the gentleman at the desk said he could do nothing about it and didn’t know how to change a battery. He gave us a 9 V battery and said to give that a try. It did not work, but thankfully, we were able to disconnect the smoke detector, without setting off alarms throughout the hotel. We just kept the smoke detector unplugged for the duration of our stay. Our room also had a very leaky shower faucet that dripped rapidly all night. Based on the fact they couldn’t solve the smoke detector we assumed they would be able to do nothing about the shower faucet, and simply put washcloths under it so you couldn’t hear the dripping as loudly. There was also a lot of street noise that could be heard from inside our hotel, which I was surprised that you could hear traffic even with the windows closed. Lastly, housekeeping during the stay was nonexistent. Our first morning there as we left for our day I told the front desk that we were out of the room and it was available for cleaning and fresh towels. She told me they wouldn’t be able to clean it until we checked out and if we wanted fresh towels, we could get them ourselves at the front desk. This was not a cheap stay and I thought with it being by Hilton, it would be better. We will not be staying there again.

All of our rooms have ice makers in the refrigerator. We also have complimentary bags of ice in our Suite Shop for our guest. We also have an ice machine in our kitchen. We apologize for the miscommunication. We are currently in the process of replacing the carpet in the guest room. Hope you'll give us a second chance and come stay with us again.

Great overnight stay!
The room was comfortable and a nice size. The staff was friendly. The location was great. Ticked away but yet close to everything. Shopping, restaurants and activity type places. Didn't have breakfast, so I can’t rate that. But all in all, it was a nice stay and the rate was good for this type of room. Anytime I go back to Dayton I will stay here again.

HeidiThank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Homewood Suites. I wanted to apologize that you were not happy with our breakfast offerings. Unfortunately, our oven went out and it really limits the items we can offer. A new oven has been ordered and we are waiting for delivery. The supply chain issues have still not returned to pre Covid levels. We are offering Waffle station, fresh fruit, hot and cold cereals, hard boiled eggs, pastries and assorted heat and eat breakfast sandwiches. We hope to have our regular breakfast back within the next 2 weeks.

Understand it’s an ongoing issue with Homewood properties, but you need to vastly improve your TV reception/quality. Room was fine, but TV issues with will not have me coming back.

Excellent stay

Decent stay
Cleaning and maintenance could have been better. The under lip of the bathroom sink hadn't been cleaned in a while. The paint had been refreshed in areas but there was paint on the door handle, etc. The breakfast was good with a fair selection. The bed was comfortable.

When a property uses the Hilton name, I expect it to be of the highest quality in both service and upkeep. Unfortunately, although the front desk clerk on our first night gave us clearance for a late check out (12:30pm, and noted it in our file, we started getting knocks on the door and calls from the front desk on checkout day at 8am. The air conditioning unit was not properly affixed to the wall, the King sized bed we paid for was saggy and uncomfortable, and the kitchen was not properly stocked with equipment to cook. We were very disappointed.

Not a nice place.
We had to change rooms. The first room’s shower did not work properly, there was a spider on the pillow and a previous guest’s nasal spray was on the floor by the bed. They did give us another room. That room’s shower worked properly. However, the bathroom in the new room looked like it had previously been flooded. The walls were buckled. There could have been mold behind some of the patches on the wall. I would have moved to another hotel if I could have.

Nearly Perfect!
Nearly Perfect! Everything about this hotel is great including the condition, cleanliness, service,,riendliness. The only downfall was very loud road noise. The next time I will ask to be in another section of the hotel.

Great service! Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and hot even right before the breakfast bar was closed. My room was clean. It was, however, unusually noisy, especially at night. Traffic, sounds from the parking lot, the TV in the room next door...and the heater fan was especially loud.

Furnace was very loud, toilet seat was about to fall off, and barely able to flush,, toothpaste was all over the bathroom vanety,cut hair was on the drawer with hair dryer,, and i was charged $75 for pet fee when it clearly said $50 (she said it just went up)
