Lovely genteel hotel in the centre of Lugano
This hotel is a genteel haven of tranquility. The staff were uniformly lovely and helpful. Breakfast was truly wonderful - no wonder people were taking photos of it! The coffee was amazing and the service impeccable. If I had had more time, I would have spent hours in the breakfast room alone.

Rooms on the back side overlook a dirty green zone and our room was placed in the newer building while we would have preferred being in the old building. Access to spa and swimming pool has to be made trough the entrance and the lobby plus the bar, not very adequate in bathing gown. Otherwise, very nice staff and good kitchen. Service at the bar a little too superficial.

This property was amazing! Beautiful and the service was impeccable! We would love to come back in the Summer months! The food was so delicious and the breakfast buffet perfect!

Nice hotel for Americans abroad
Nice hotel with views of Lake Lugano and easy walk to the main shopping and dining area of Lugano. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Clearly a hotel that caters to a large US guest contingency - seemed that all other guests were also from the States.

初めて宿泊しましたが噂通り素晴らしいホテルです。 目の前がルガノ湖なのでお散歩しながら街へ行かれます。 若い方やお子様には物足りないかもしれませんが、のんびりした旅行にはおすすめの贅沢なホテルです。

The decor is absolutely stunning and the staff always went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay to the fullest! I highly recommend this hotel not only for the amazing customer service and attention to detail but also it is in an ideal location.

Excellent location and Staff
The location is spectacular ... right on Lake Lugano and within walking distance to the city center. The building has two sides ... a newer and older wing. The old wing is dark and tired. I do not recommend it. But the new wing is beautiful and comfortable. The staff could not be nicer from the porter to the desk staff. The breakfast is fair but the dinner was excellent.

The Splendide is a classic 140 year old exquisite hotel in the heart of Lugano. Situated on Lake Lugano, one can walk its shore for miles. Also walkable through Lugano's fabulous cobbled old town and it's Salumarias to Piazza della Reforma and it's people-watching restaurants. A real treat.

We have been on this trip for over three weeks. Most of the time we have been in 4 or 5 star hotels. Without a doubt, this hotel was a real pleasure. While we only stayed for one night, they treated us like royalty. From the first person we met from the hotel to the last one as we were leaving they were all very friendly and very nice. Lugano is a beautiful place and this place made it even better.
