We were greeted at check in with a glass of wine. Staff very nice. All desk staff spoke English! Room very nice. However, we were there on a Saturday night. I get it, people party. At 11 they turn roof top bar made into night club. That is on level 10. We were on level 10 and I felt like I was sleeping in the middle of a really, really loud night club Room description says something about “soundproof.” Not at all. So, not much sleep. Cleaning people started early in the AL with music blasting, talking and banging adjoining walls with vacuums, mops or whatever. Went to rooftop for breakfast. Another guest said everyone gets a breakfast vouchers if stay at hotel. No one could help. We ate dinner Friday night at Tao, which is kind of connected. We’ve been there before and it’s great. As for the area, Hollywood is not what people expect. A lot of homeless people sleeping on the Walk of Fame Stars, smelly, dirty, very unsafe. However, we live in Southern California and go to Pantages often, so we’ve seen that area go downhill. All in all, we still liked the hotel and would stay there again.
