I loved the staff, they were super nice and accommodating. The service was exceptional. The aesthetic of this hotel was beautiful. Definitely would stay there again and highly recommended.

Had a quick stay at The Cara after attending a show at the Greek Theatre. The hotel has a cool, lounge vibe. It is bright and airy and is super clean. We enjoyed delicious late afternoon cocktails on a patio with lots of plants, and the people who work there couldn’t have been nicer.

Very cute property with supernice staff. Rooms are relatively small and they open to the restaurant area which tends to be packed weekend nights. So expect reduced privacy and comfort.

I stayed at the Cara hotel for an anniversary staycation. The hotel is a revamped from an old motel and now it looks and feels like a resort with the all white decor. If you want peace and quietness, this isn’t the hotel for you as the courtyard restaurant is right outside your door and the hallway to your room is often filled with employees walking to and from waiting on the customer tables. At one point I felt like I had to yell “corner” just like the staff when I was walking that hallway every time I came out or had to go back to the room. It’s very pretty but honestly for the price, I wouldn’t stay long or go frequently because it does lack basic services. The room is small and the lights were flickering on and off and the shower head was flimsy too with water sprouting in different directions. There’s no ice machine either. I prefer the intercontinental over here to be honest. However, the Cara restaurant is amazing. The ambiance is lovely and the food, despite small portions, was absolutely delicious. The service was nice too, but, only thing that really bothered me was when I paid with a prepaid debit card and the rest on my credit card, the server told me stating that if I enjoyed her service, to tip her on the full amount of the bill, not after the prepaid debit card amount was gone. I am aware of the amount changing and was planning on tipping on the actual full amount, but the forward comment felt like it snapped me out of the lovely dining experience I had.

The hotel is the quite run-down. There is way too much noise from the courtyard restaurant up into the rooms until late st night. It was very difficult to sleep. The rooms are stuffy and even worse because we were trying to keep the windows closed to keep the noise out. There is no elevator so it’s difficult and unsafe to move luggage up the rickety wooden stairs. There is no bellman to hepl move luggage.

Comfortable room but no drawers ,only open hanging area and shelf. Nothing to place suitcases on except bed. Others have complained of noise from the dining area but we didn’t experience any problem. Great bedding and towels.

Great boutique hotel in heart of East Hollywood/Los Feliz with great ambiance, dining options nearby and amazing access to Griffith Observatory. Small but well appointed rooms with high end products and finishes. Staff from reception to valet and housekeeping was exceptional - highly recommend.

We loved the property design and layout. Love the simplicity of the rooms. Only thing is it was loud at night. There was a party of 25 or 30 sitting in a long table right in front of our room. We had to wait until they left at 12:30 and then the staff cleaned up by 1 am we were able to sleep. The staff was very helpful and the girl in the front desk was super accommodating. Afraid this hotel might turn into another party hotel in the area. That would be a shame.

Cara is a Gem!
What a fantastic 1st experience at the Cara! A gem of a find in that hood with a quaint boutique ambiance, amicable, helpful and service oriented staff from the valet, ALEX at the reception and all around team lead, Oscar and others at the bar, and wait staff at the fantastic restaurant where the dinner we had was excellent! I will be back!

LOVE CARA HOTEL!!
The Cara Hotel is exceptional! You walk in and are struck by it's style right away, but then when you get to the rooms you are so pleased by how clean and crisp everything is. The rooms are cozy, and the balcony overlooking the courtyard is such a great touch. We loved the restaurant and bar and just about everything. It was so great how it was designed to make you feel like you were in an oasis and that you would never know that you were in urban LA. It is a true gem!

The staff at this property is excellent. The rooms are small and sparsely equipped compared to others in the area. Walking at night is not really an option here. Parking is an expensive pain, but is run by a valet company not part of hotel. An in room coffee maker instead of a ridiculous amount of very expensive snacking would be appreciated.

Nicely maintained boutique hotel. It still has a bit of a feel of a remodeled old motel. All seating for restaurant is outside and walkways to hotel rooms are outside as well. Employees are friendly. Hotel is trying hard to be a boutique location but just falls a bit short, especially for the price.

I have stayed at the Cara twice and I will be staying there in December. All the staff are friendly, helpful, professional and responsive to requests. The food is excellent. The location is central to all the tourist places to visit. Besides, the hotel property is beautiful and very clean. I highly recommend this hotel.

The little property, restaurant area, and small rooms have been very well done, and they’ve tried to soundproof them. But all the diners are right outside the door and the music is quite loud too…both still going well after 11:00 pm. So definitely a poor choice for a weekend when too much is going on. We won’t return.
