Good for getting around Harrogate. Bathroom towel rail did not work and room a little noisy from street. Staff were lovely.

"Cosy"
Overall a great experience. The cosy double room really are "cosy" There was an awful noise, that started around 4.30am. Sounded like a generator or similar (would have mentioned it at checkout, but it was all automated) So didn't sleep very well. Rooms clean, great breakfast and the bar is stunning

LIFT
Everything was great, Bar food decor service, one big problem.....LIFT not working for the total stay. We were on third floor, I am 79 years old and have a heart and lung problem, I do not do stairs even at home. The hotel was full so changes were not possible. Had booked th two rooms about a month prior so dont know why we were put on third floor. The cost was nearly £1000.00 without what was spent at the bar!.... I feel some compensation should be given.

We had a lovely stay in Harrogate and the hotel facilities, particularly the bar and restaurant, were lovely. The room was very comfortable however, as there was no in room phone I had to Go down to reception after midnight to report noise. The walls were Incredibly thin and the noise in the room was enough to disrupt any sleep. The employee listened but then nothing at all Was done. Had it been, we would Have heard the knock on the neighbours door. Nobody checked or asked about this at checkout.

Disapointed
Since the refurb, this is no longer a hotel, rather it is a posh pub / restaurant with rooms. Stayed on the first floor, room adequate, bed comforable, but toilet dirty! Noise from the bar area present until after midnight. Car park unregulated, paid to park, but others obviously did not.... Will not rush back or recommend.

Excellent value for money
Excellent value for money, some areas of the hotel appeared to be being updated whist we were there so some things weren't working but it didn't affect our stay here. Good location - parking a bit tight and is on a first come first serve basis - but overall would recommend this hotel

Very disappointed with this hotel, always stay in the inn collection group but would not stay here again, threadbare carpets and paint off the walls in corridors, room ok but radiater didnt work in bathroom and was freezing, complained but nothing done, went for food on the evening and everything we asked for the didnt have so after waiting for 15 minutes to get served had to choose something else of the menu and still only had half what we asked for, also didnt have the desserts we asked for and very little choice in the first place, also said they didnt do blue light discount on food and drink but stated it did on the website when i booked, i wouldnt stay here again and reluctant to use inn collection group again

Overall an enjoyable experience
Enjoyed our stay at the Harrogate Inn. Booked two rooms which were supposed to be of the same standard. Unfortunately, one was acceptable and the second one was very small. Public areas were excellent and the breakfast experience was very good.

Bar appearance was excellent, staff was good with some peculiar attitudes but unfortunately looked very scruffy. They also appeared to be overworked so you will never get the best out response. Queued for breakfast on all three days even when quiet main reason food was not replenished fast enough. Would also recommend nets at the windows because room was to warm no way of turning down the heating, opened windows but needed to keep curtains closed because of sunlight so air could get into the room. Parking was also an issue £10:00 a night then only 30 spaces for 90 rooms ? Park outside hotel for 10:00 but again no spaces.

Staff were pleasant and friendly. The internal decor in the main premises and bedroom - paint blistering probably due to dampness. Food at breakfast was as expected but was very slow in being replenished with a long queue forming

Lovely place
Fabulous hotel, near Xmas when we went so everything was very festive. Warm and cozy place . This hotel is right opposite the royal hall, so fairly central for everything. The room we had was great, clean and comfortable. Only problem we found was that the buffet breakfast was not kept topped up …we waited ages for other items by which time the rest of our breakfast was cold .

We had a lovely stay here. We just stayed one night for a concert at the Royal Hall, which was a 2 minute walk across the road. Easy free parking at the back of the hotel. The staff were lovely and our room, which was a Standard Double, was plenty big enough, with a super-king, comfy bed and 2 armchairs. Bathroom was nice with a big shower. The staff were all very friendly and made us welcome. We had a meal in the restaurant early evening - delicious pub grub at a reasonable price. Breakfast the next day was excellent - hot and cold buffet, all fresh and easy to access. We will definitely return!

Charge for car park was unexpected. Lift was out of order and we had not been informed. We were on 3rd floor and steps were very steep - we are not young. Breakfast was ok but no service so too many people queueing and walking around dining area that was too busy

Cosy double awful. Hotel very good.
Stayed in a cozy double. Bed wasnt even a standard double. Very small for 2 people. Should only be available for 1 person. Awful nights sleep. Room decor very good and clean. Hotel very nice. Would stay again but pay more for a bigger room, even though this room was a hefty 235 quid. Brekky amazing. Disappointing.

Worth to try other options
The walls does not fully block the noise from the corridors. I heard people talking in the corridor early in the morning, even staff which made me to think they should be better trained. Some noise like burping coming from the bathroom sink drain awake me in the night.

Liked building and decor, friendliness of staff. Our room on third floor we had to walk up three flights of stairs, no lift - I am in my 80s! - told no other twin room available. Dining menu very poor choice.

Disappointing stay
We stayed 2 nights at the Harrogate Inn and while the downstairs areas were very good after a recent refurbishment the second floor on which we stayed seemed to have been given a quick spruce up. I am 73 and my wife older and have recently had a knee replacement therefore it would have been nice to know beforehand that the lift wasn't working, a regular occurrence apparently. On some of the hottest days of the year while we were there I discovered that the shower tray drain was blocked making it unusable. I reported this in the morning and in the afternoon was told it had been fixed. It had not been fixed!!! I then requested a different room and the staff kindly obliged. In this room there was shower over the bath The hand held part of the shower did not work although the overhead deluge head did so we settled for that. There wasn't any non slip bath mat which made it dangerous for older infirm people to step out of the bath after a shower . I was told they weren't supplied. At no time during our stay were we offered any compensation for this major inconvenience.
