The hosts are super nice and friendly, they offer me a welcome “milk”. Thats really sweet. Parking is available right outside your room and even you travel by kiwi or inter city bus, this motel is also one of their stop, super convience. On the day I check out in the early morning, the hosts are still here to assist.

Fantastic location. The Landing and King Tiger were great for meals and drinks and within easy walking distance. Room is clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend 2nt stay

I would recommend 58 on Cron to anybody staying in Franz Joseph. The staff are tremendously helpful and pleasant and the rooms are spacious. Additionally there is plenty of dining options within a short walking distance.

An excellent place to stay and within easy reach of both Franz Josef and Fox glaciers. The room was clean, tidy and well equipped. A range of places to eat are within easy walking distance.

Very nice property with front door parking. Large comfortable units with fully stocked kitchen. Super clean bathroom had plenty of soft towels. Very friendly managers, laundry on site. We enjoyed our stay here.

Only had a one night booking,wish it could have been longer. Excellent facilities in a quiet but convenient area of FJ. What we liked the most was the service from the check in staff, friendly & informative…. Genuinely care about their guests even going as far as to provide a print out of places to visit en route to our next destination. Thank you so much, greatly appreciated.

Stay was really good. Sheryl was very helpful and accommodating. Just easy walks to everything. Only thing is if you need medical services on the weekend there’s none in town and no pharmacy.

As we are a small remote town, but we do have a medical centre which is run Monday to Friday but if there is a medical emergency then we are able to get help for someone and the pharmacy in Hokitika delivers medications etc to town during the week. Ok for a short stay
Typical motel, you park right in front of your room. Clean, practical. Small bathroom, small kitchenette. Sporadic dogs howling in the evening directly at the back of the room.

Good AfternoonThank you for your review. We are pleased that you found our rooms clean and practical. Our rooms are larger than most of the motel rooms in town and do have a small kitchenette which is well equipped, and the bathroom has a walk-in shower and toilet in the same room. The howling dogs in the evening, is something that is out of our control, however if you had of come and advised us of the issue while you were staying with us, we would have tried to either find out where the noise was coming from, or we could have moved to you another room away from the noise. It is disappointing for us to receive comments from guests after they have left when something has happened, and it is out of our control. I can assure you that if we had of been made aware of the issue at the time, we would have tried our very best to find a solution for you. Kind Regards Sheryl

Great Stay!
Very comfortable one night stay. Great location - walking distance to the restaurants in the area. Not far from Franz Josef Glacier. Check-in process was great. The owner/mgr was great. She even met us early the next morning as we were preparing to leave before the office opened and offered us a sheet of sights along our route. Went over and explained things in the area. Service level was excellent - highly recommend and great location.

Very comfortable.
I think we must have got the two wettest and coldest days in October but our hotel room was super warm and cosy. Walking distance to town and most cafes and restaurants. Lovely staff at the front desk, very obliging. Has a good laundry facility which we utilised and the hotel was very quiet. Nice views of mountains. Easy drive to Franz Josef glacier.

Very kind staff
Went to hotel much earlier, as was caught in the only winter day that rained the whole week. Gentleman at the recep kindly allowed us to check in so we could wash up. Although it was miserable as it rained all day, we were able to see the amazing sights and even landed on the glacier the next day once it cleared up. So beautiful!
