«Clean and quiet!»

«Beautiful location near Volcanoes National Park and Volcano Village. Quiet, rain-forest grounds with fiddleheads, ferns, anthurium on walking path to hot tub. I was traveling with my hula sister and we wanted to watch the Merrie Monarch Festival on TV. The television was old with poor reception. I tried to contact the host through VRBO but couldn't get through. Called the VRBO help line and they cut me off so we watched on my computer instead. Glad I had it with me! Otherwise a pleasant stay.»

«A nice place, but limited check in times. Property a bit remote. . Room a bit damp,,, so had to use dehumidifier (which wasn’t on the hotel description!!!!!). Not high on the list to return to. »

«Very clean and simple room - quite nice. Expect the room to be super humid. There was a small dehumidifier, but it didn’t do much. The best was turning on the heater in the early morning to dry the air when the temp was cool enough. No message before arrival and no phone answer. Host responded to Vrbo messages within minutes though and gave me the information. I reserved the day before, so it could have been last minute. Didn’t use hot tub - didn’t look for it and we came back tired from the ...

«This place was quaint but everything we had hoped. Loved the property and everything was perfect. Please note that this is 1 hour from the Volcano but it is well worth it to stay at this place. Will come again.»

«This is a beautiful, large house designed and constructed in the 1930s for a wealthy Hilo family. The main interiors are dark wood, with original custom bannisters and similar craftsmanship, and the furnishings are period-correct. The present owners have upgraded in various ways, including adding in-room air conditioning (we didn't need, but it was nice to have the option), retrofitted bathrooms, kitchen, wiring, and similar. «Totally unique off grid experience smack in the middle of the jungle. Think tiny house meets summer camp! Misty, the property host, gave an excellent introduction to the property and amenities. Her knowledge of flora and fauna enhanced our experience. Don’t worry about trading comfort for rural retreat. Our bedroom cabin was super clean, warm, appointed with quality linens and towels, and worked well for the four of us. This is a must do experience you won’t stop thinking about.»
