Nice location
Was a nice stay. But they did not change sheets even though my baby pooped on the bed😅 I tried to wash it of, but it had yellow stains.

Litt "Fawlty Towers" preg over dette. Ventet bare på at Penny, Manuel, Basil majoren og de faste gjestene skulle dukke opp i spisesalen! Fin beliggenhet med utsikt over havet og munningen av Exe River. Grei service. Ikke for unge mennesker som ønsker litt liv.

The Royal Beacon is a nice comfortable hotel with excellent views. The bedroom furniture was a bit dated but in reasonable condition. The bed was very great. The bathroom décor was also a bit dated, but very clean and serviceable with plenty of hot water and flutty clean towels. The staff were very pleasant. It's just a shame there's no evening dining. Having said that, there are lots of restaurants and cafes in close proximity.

The greeting at reception was lovely on arrival, not so much on checking out. No questions asking how the stay was etc, just cheers bye. Ok so my expectations were super high as I didn’t pay a lot for 2 nights as I booked a budget room however it was awful. There was cobwebs everywhere and the carpet was filthy, it got worse in the bathroom. All the sealant was full of black mould and the toilet was all black in the bottom. I was most disgusted when I went to make a cup of tea and I picked up the teaspoon which looked smeary I ran my thumb across it and I wiped off a thick layer of something. Needless to say that went straight back into the cup. I decided for this reason I wasn’t going to eat breakfast at the hotel and we then spent very minimal time there. I was quite disappointed as I genuinely thought it be ok as I had read the good reviews. The hotel is in such a great location and the parking is alright if you’re lucky enough to get a free space on the road near by which we were.

Furniture old & dented. Towel rail rusty. Car park £10 extra & can only just get in & out of it due to cars parking on the road where you pull out so tight to get out. Staff friendly & helpful. Nice location but needs updating.

Hotel was great,staff are very nice and helpful.we took our dog with us and she was made to feel really welcome.would highly recommend this hotel if you travel alot with your dog

A very friendly welcoming hotel. Being refurbished. Had to request the heating to be turned on in the room as it didn't come on automatically. The staff came and assisted us straight away. Lovely hot water. Fluffy towels . Comfortable beds. Was given a free upgraded twin bedroom with a sea view. Very grateful. Will return at some point.

Due to mobility issues the parking was the worst I've known.the hotel is up hill so walking a distance to a car park was impossible for me.apart from this staff absolutely brilliant.view from our room stunning.

Finally settled on a hotel when I stay in Exmouth after myriad nomadic visits going back many years. Staff are always good though rarely see a familiar face from visit to visit. Will stay next time too.

Room was clean and in good condition, although dated in todays terms, but had everything I needed for an overnight stay. Free parking outside hotel but can book for private parking if happy to pay a surcharge. I had sea views and only 2 minutes walk to beach. Breakfast was excellent and all staff helpful and polite. Very happy for a budget conscious stay.

Staff were all excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The room, although basic was adequate for 1 night with a dog and was very clean. The bathroom was a bit dated but a lot of older hotels seem to need updating every so many years. Will definitely return

Had a good stay at the royal beacon Hotel The only thing that spoilt it was the key card to our room failed 3 times as we were on the 3rd floor had to go to reception every time to Get it .Special mention to the staff for making Us fell welcome Thanking you David Buck.

Great location with fantastic sea views
The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room comfortable, but the best thing about our stay was the sea view, absolutely wonderful. Located on a quiet street in an elevated position only a few minutes walk into town or to the beach. Ok so the decor was a bit tired, we'd still happily stay again.

A lovely short break
We ha a very pleasant short stay in Exmouth. The Royal Beacon Hotel was very clean although a little dated. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The weather was surprisingly good for February and we were able to walk around the whole area.

Great stay
Having done the pre-check-in online it was a swift process to get in. The checkout was very smooth too. We didn't need much from the staff but they were helpful when we did. The room was surprisingly large and comfortable. Overall it was a great stay and worth the price.

Room was a standard double room. It did the job, only issue it was like a sunna!! We walked in and it was so hot! Both radiators on full blast. Found a fan in the wardrobe so had that on all night as even after turning off the radiators the room was till warm. Shower was powerful which was nice.

Friendly staff, lovely experience
We booked last minute to stay overnight on 1st January and we’re very pleasantly surprised. The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to look after us. The hotel kitchen was closed when we stayed but the staff were happy for us to order a takeaway to eat at the hotel and even gave us plates and cutlery to use. Nothing was too much for them. Our room was quiet and comfortable and we had a very enjoyable stay. Would definitely visit again.
