«The turf hotel was lovely, our room view was of the street which had a park over the road, the staff were friendly, hubby's only little grumble was the shower is a bit small and brekkie could of been a bit more, I enjoyed it and would recommend »

«Lyndsey and Mark were brilliant for our stay, so friendly and gave tips on things to do in the area . We also had a dog with us and they were very accommodating. Lovely B and B, close to amenities but far enough away for some peace and quiet. Food is also lovely, we had breakfast and tea. »

«Rommet var normalt bra. Prisen var oppsiktsvekkende høy, sammenlignet med hva jeg er vant til fra andre engelske provinsbyer. Men det var dyrt på andre hoteller jeg så på også. Durham er et turistmål, men hotelltilbudet i gangavstand fra jernbanestasjon og historisk bykjerne er vel så begrenset at det presser opp prisene. Dette hotellet hyggelig, og beliggenheten ideell for reisende med tog (også bilister, for den saks skyld, siden det var gode parkeringsmuligheter). Det eneste negative var at ...

«Spur of the moment booking as we suddenly got a free weekend in our schedule. Nice hotel, good dinner and breakfast. »

«Very comfy beds. Clean, light room and friendly staff. Tea and coffee available in the room . The karioke downstairs stopped at 11pm which was fine and we slept well. We could have done with some towel hooks or a rail and a few instructions like how to turn on the radiator and what to do with the key when we left ( we worked those things out in the end !)»

«Brilliant place to stay as a family, very clean and lovely place to stay, location by a private farm in the sticks you’re surrounded by grass, views, water and horses it’s beautiful. Great size accommodation and with modern kitchen and bathroom making staying here great. Located close to mainly areas, Beamish, Newcastle, Durham etc. Can’t recommend this place enough a lovely cozy warm stay.»

«The Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area. The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay. The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!! Would happily stay here again when visiting the area as it’s a perfect little ...
