Our room stunk so bad every time we walked in. The a/c never cooled our room properly. The food was served at improper temperatures… nothing came out hot! Everything was served room temp or below. Minibar was not restocked daily.

I just retuned home from a wonderful solo stay at Secrets Aura. The staff was amazing and service was excellent! I’ve had better food at other secrets resorts, however everything else made up for it!

This is our 3rd stay here in a year. We love it so much. The only issues we ever have surround the bathroom. Faucets brown, tub faucets broken/rusted/leaking, shower will not keep constant pressure or temperature. If you were to maintain the bath areas this would be a huge thing for us. We have been down with large groups all 3 times with everyone complaining about room bathrooms. Everything else on the property is phenomenal!!!

I’ve stayed there five or six times before over the years and it has really gone downhill. The food is marginal, my room had not been refurbished in years and if you’re not in their preferred program, some of the restaurants are off-limits so your lunch options really stink. It is no longer worth the extra money to stay there.

Likes: *If you don’t read anything else, please read this, preferred is the only way to go to have access to all 3 resorts and the best food *Oceana, Windows, Cafe Gohan, and Boudreaux’s were all amazing dining options *Emmanuel at Boudreaux’s was great *Carolina and Kenia at Oceana were great *Attentive beachside waitresses and concierge *Sergio from the vacation club gave us great service while we thought through whether or not to join Dislikes: *If you need AC, you must stay in your room - as most restaurants don’t have AC, & are only covered w/NO fans *Music - none! We need to hear the sounds of Mexico, we need to feel like we’re on vacation in Mexico! *Secrets is a 5 star hotel, but Dreams is the newest property w/swim-up pools that face the ocean, & it looked amazing, newer & designed much better (book room 3414 B) *Secrets is dated - the paint outside is chipping, curtains had holes in them, bedroom AC kept us up, sounded like someone was dragging metal across concrete *Food in other restaurants were not good - especially the pizzeria - they have a wood burning oven (they do), they do not use it - the pizza was the worst I’ve ever had - seems like it was microwaved (there were hardly any kids or families in this restaurant) *There is different level of service depending on where you go, so do yourself a favor, go to the restaurants mentioned under likes (I was shocked some of the staff actually had jobs based on some of the level of service provided)

We had a great time! We spent 7 nights for our honeymoon and have no regrets. High quality food and beer is canned or tap and they have tons of options. Staff was very nice and accommodating and the view is beautiful.

Food was good. I mainly relaxed at the beach in which it was beautiful but they only have one guy serving drinks. It would take a very long time to get a drink. Bartender at the beach was also very slow, I asked for a canned beer and that took him about 15 minutes to give it to me. Even though I’m fluent in Spanish the guy was rude by not acknowledging me and when asked for another drink he just laughed. I still tipped the guy but that didn’t make a difference when returning for another drink. This bar was at the preferred restaurant. Besides that all else was pretty good.

A unique set with the swim up rooms, however, unless you pay for the premium packages you are limited on the restaurants and bars options. So be sure to do that when requesting your swim up room otherwise you will end up on a different floor and no pool right outside your patio. The customer service was terrific for our trip.

The property is pretty dated and you can only paint the room so many times. The buffet breakfast was out of common items for 15-20 minutes at a time. Our waiter seen we were getting irritated and went to the back to get us eggs/bacon. He was a Rockstar as was Isabel and Wendy serving drinks around the pool and beach.

It’s hard to believe this is a Hyatt Resort. Compared to the other Hyatt resorts we e stayed at and loved, this one was horrible. The resort needs a lot of TLC. Rooms need to be painted. Plumbing was an issue the entire trip. Never had a hot shower the entire 6 night stay. One person at the front desk to check people in. Staff wasn’t friendly and engaging. We paid for a swim up ocean view room. We had a tiny view of the ocean if standing in one spot of the patio. Missing pool tiles everywhere. Concrete step to get out of swim up pool was badly cracked and looked like to was about to crumble if you stepped on it. Food was nothing to brag about. Found out that 2 restaurants are for Preferred guests for breakfast and lunch (no where does it say that on the website). We had to wait over a hour to eat every night. We tried to eat at the sushi restaurant and it was a 3 hour wait. No such thing as top shelf drinks! Absolutely no night life. Beach drink service is a joke. We waited 45 minutes for drinks and finally moved to the pool. Both pool and beach need more than 1 waiter. I will say the temperature in the rooms was nice and the beds were comfy. That’s about my only positive review. I asked to speak to the manager about our room not being ocean view and she said someone would get in touch with me. Never did. And still hasn’t! Visiting with other guests, they all agreed this was a horrible resort!

Room was in an excellent location, but the room itself was rundown and in need of renovation. The AC drain plugged up and soaked our clothes. The staff was fine. The food options were just adequate, nothing to brag about. Would try a different resort if we come again.

Very disappointing experience. This was our third time at Secrets Aura Cozumel. First time was incredible, excellent service and extremely clean property. Second time ws during COVID, very clean but limited restaurant services (understandable due to the situation at that time). This third time, we reserved a junior superior suite in the preferred club. We arrived and were given our room #1445 around 4:00 pm. We unpacked our belongings, went to the beach and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon. We went back to our room to take a shower and relax before dinner. The shower has a ceiling "rain" feature and a handheld head. Water was flowing from both showers at the same time with very little pressure. The knob to direct the flow to either one of them did not work. In addition, there was no hot water. Called front desk to report the problem and 20 minutes later a maintenance person showed up. He had water running for more than 20 minutes, opening every faucet available to check for hot water. No luck. I then went downstairs to ask the Preferred Club front desk to change me to a different room (Remember that this was a Superior Junior Suite Preferred Club room; can't imagine what problems the regular rooms may have). Around 10:00 pm we were finally given a new room. We moved there and it seemed to be OK. The next day we came back to the room at 4:30 pm to discover that nobody has come to clean it. I have reached the word limit although I have lot more to complain about this place

Our room was VERY damp and smelled like mildew, floor was even damp tile from how moist the air in the room was. Staff were great, needed more places to eat breakfast.

I would have given it a five but the room we received when we got there was horrible and we had to wait an hour and a half to get a better room and pay another $360 to upgrade. When we first got there we were told there were no additional rooms or ways to upgrade which was pretty inconvenient. To go see two other rooms before finally being put in a nice room in the preferred area. Vacation started off poor but overall was good. I definitely know if we come back we will be staying in the preferred area.

The property is old and tired. A coat of paint cannot hide the wear and tear… to make matters worse, the room in our room was leaking, dripping water in the bathroom and bedroom wardrobe. Lastly, we had no hot water… a real disater…

This was not our favorite Secrets. It’s ready for some external updating and freshening up. The staff was certainly never rude or unpleasant but really not as energetic and happy as we’ve seen in the past. The Easter fresh tuna celebration was fabulous. I’m disappointed that the nightly shows we are accustomed to don’t seem to be a thing anymore, and the app gave very little info on what was going on (in fact, our last 2 days, it was saying that there were no activities of any kind at any of the 3 resorts, which was clearly not accurate. We missed hearing about a drink of the day only to overhear someone ask about it at the end of the trip and learn that there is one but that’s not communicated anywhere. Also, there is nothing at all in the room that tells you how to call the front desk with a question, or even how to call if there is an emergency. That said, our room was huge and beautiful. Housekeeping and maintenance were attentive, restaurants were gorgeous, food was fantastic, beach was very nice, and we enjoyed having access to multiple resorts.

El concepto es muy bueno , sin embargo debo de decir que por culpa de algunas personas el servicio podría haberlo calificado como Excelente. Sugerencias : Elegir al personal de meseros ( debo decir que 3 meseros fueron groseros y con pocas ganas de atender ). Cuarto olia a humedad ,aire acondicionado tardaron mas de un día en darle solución a pesar de solicitar a Recepción, los alimentos consideramos pueden mejorar. Recomendamos actualizar el menu de su room service, ya que los alimentos solicitados en el menu de QR no corresponden a lo que llevaban al cuarto. Nos negaron cafe con leche deslactosada a cuarto porque no era posible. A pesar de todos estos inconvenientes, consideramos que es un lugar increible para ir a descansar. No permitan que una cadena como Secrets se venga abajo por situaciones como éstas.

Personnel vraiment super agréable, PARTOUT!! Réception, serveurs(ses), entretien, tous sont sympathiques. Nous avons bien mangé on a fait 3 restaurants différents à la carte aux soupers et vraiment super, nous n’avions pas prefered club cette fois-ci c’était pas nécessaire pour nous. Le wow c’est assurément le sky bar et ses couchers de soleil si merveilleux. Mes suggestions serais de ferais jouer plus souvent des musiciens live ça rend l’ambiance parfaite! Et musique plus locale.

Disappointed that the beach water was so rocky. But beach was clean and kept up. Views were wonderful. Plenty of choices for eating and enjoyed them all. The highlight of our trip was meeting Zayra from the entertainment team. She was an absolute treasure and a huge asset to the property. Not a day went by without her seeking us out to inform us about what was going on each day. She really made us feel special. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Would visit again for sure.
