Great value hotel and fantastic location. Room was clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We had to order food to be delivered as the restaurant was closed when we arrived

Has the ability to be a great place but is looking very tired and run down, although was clean and staff friendly and helpful. The availability of hot snacks would have been good!

Check in was atrocious. Only two staff members on for two large booking parties. We waited 40 minutes. The room was more suitable for a single bed. The bathroom wasn't clean, I have photo's, the bathroom window had no frosting or curtain on it, people across the street could see in especially when the light was on so we left it off. Three other people tried to get into the room whilst we were trying to sleep which was impossible due to how uncomfortable the bed was. There was no remote control for the TV so we didn't use that. The duvet cover was inside out. The bathroom door didn't close properly as it was damaged. The curtain in the room wouldn't open properly once it had been closed. There was no hot water in the bathroom, my husband had to shower in cold water, I didn't use it but boiled the kettle for a wash instead. Most of the onsite vending machines were out of order. The mini break was booked for my husbands birthday. I'm afraid to say that we will not be returning to Norbreck Castle. Having been twice before he specifically requested it. I'm sorely disappointed with our stay this time.

Seizures
I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff of the norbreck. We had a problem with the first room as it was a twin room which had the adjoining room block. Unfortunately the people in the room next to us (the adjoining room) were extremely loud which ended us with me having a seizure through the stress and anxiety they caused myself. The staff were wonderful and even though the hotel was full they managed to find us another room on the opposite side of the property. Thank you so much we really appreciated it and really enjoyed our stay there

Only stayed one night staff loverly breakfast superb, our room was clean my only criticism is it’s in need of an update…. Carpets very worn and some walls need attention but other than that a lovely place to stay

It is easy to find, cheap but very clean and with all facilities one might expect. The staff were very competent, and charming.

Key card to room didn’t work when we arrived, I had to go to reception 4 times (which wasn’t great as I was 5th floor and on the other end of the hotel) till it was sorted by a room change, the very next night we saw another guest trying to get into that room and the key card still wasn’t registering… why give out that room again when the key cards are not working on the lock?? We had no hairdryer in our room which I mentioned at 2pm on my way out and was reassured that one would be delivered asap which it wasn’t when I got back at 5pm hence another trek down to reception. For the cheap price I paid it was an alright stay but I certainly wouldn’t pay top dollar to stay here. Room had broken window latch which whistled in the wind all night, it didn’t bother me but if you’re a light sleeper there’s no way you’d of managed.

Very run down hotel
Arrived late,staff where amazing very helpful,when we went to the room someone had left the window open was very cold,toilet had no heating so was very cold,bed where very uncomfortable,didn't get much sleep due to slot of arguments n load music been playing through the night

Basic but comfy, staff lovely
Public areas lime corridors are a but run down with the carpet being stuck by duct tape but with a large hotel lime this wear amd tear are expected , dust acclamation in corners of these ateas as well and in rooms on top of wardro es etc , BUT the bed was comfy and clean as was the bathroom, i would make the parking clear though, with a sign outsole saying if you staying at the hotel not to pay for parking at the meter outside, as we spent over £10 and then found we could of got ot for £3 as we were staying

I didn't like anything. Cant sleep the rooms are freezing cold. You have to request a heater. Curtains stained. This hotel should be the hotel from hell it's that run down i wouldn't recommend anyone to stay her. Also only 1 socket in room so I couldn't charge phone

Pool out of use.
One of main reasons we booked this hotel was for the pool but unfortunately it was not in use and had not been for a few days prior. They should have specified this on their website.

Not ideal for everyone
No WiFi in room, unless you pay for premium. I wasn't aware of the £3 a night parking, until I'd got to check in. And no information was available and I wasn't made aware, until I asked in the restaurant, that you needed to pre pay for evening meal, but sadly by then they where all sold up. I was looking forward to a swim, and time in the sauna, but it was all closed up. Room was clean, with fresh linen, and towels, working hairdryer and kettle was also in the room. But the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work, and the water took over 10 minutes to get warm. Also there was a gale force wind, coming from the window. Evening entertainment not my cup of tea, and the band was boring, and they didn't even try to get people to feel included. Long queue for the bar, and at check in too. And it's quite a long walk to any other entertainment or food places.
