Although breakfast was early, 6 to 9, it was fairly good. There was good variety and the staff were diligent in restocking and cleaning tables. The bed was very comfortable! The location provided easy access to the main highway & about 20 minutes from the airport.

I have a 3 year old that likes to go into the pool -- weather was a little cool but even though the water would be a bit cool as well, there was no reason I could see that the pool was closed -- HUGE disappointment -- Our room overlooked the pool which made it worse for him -- when asked why the pool was closed I was tol the water was a little cool that day -- again, not a reason to close it -- I asked if it was possible to allow swimming -- I was told no -- basically i had no recourse. Also, the lobby coffee was sub-par in my opinion. A one-half refund would make me happy -- but still doesn't make up for a disappointed 3 year-old. :(

The sheets were clean. However, this property is not convenient. It is not within walking distance of anything except a burger place right outside. My room (511) had a, clearly broken, counter and toilet paper holder in the bathroom. The front desk and maintenance seemed surprised. I did make sure to tell at least 3 front desk staff members. The floor was very dirty. I had to request that it be mopped. The tables in the dining area was not the cleanest on any of the 3 mornings we dined.

I didn’t like the fact that I called when out bus was running late and was given attitude about me checking in late as if my room wasn’t already paid for and then the air conditioning was very poor we were sweating every night and I had surgery and needed the air conditioning to be cold it seem to have one of those management controls preset to 70 degrees it would come on and go off in 2 mins we recorded it to be sure cause it’s not like we were getting any rest. I call front desk they said nothing was wrong with the air but no I would not recommend staying there also strays were coming in trying to get in the breakfast room

Accidentally booked for an extra night. Contacted Expedia immediately and Expedia called front desk at hotel. Front desk advised Expedia rep not to cancel my reservation bc rooms were limited and I may not be able to rebook. Chris from the hotel said he would note my reservation and I wouldn’t be charged for the extra night that I wasn’t staying. Upon check in, this was all confirmed. Upon check out, front desk “manager” Nicky would not agree to these terms and charged me for the extra night plus an “early checkout fee”. P.S. I have screenshots from the conversation with Expedia rep.

Hello Janson Glidewell,Sorry it took so long in getting back to you as doing some research in to this it seams Expedia for got to mention your rate would change as you where not staying the 3 nights to get the promo discount therefore a surcharge would apply upon check out. and if there was a balance due to you it would be refunded or if the rate was greater then the discount would be owed to the hotel. We came to tour a college in Birmingham and chose comfort inn to stay while we were there. The hotel was fine, the staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was good and it was a clean facility. We didn’t need anything spectacular as it was just a place to lay our heads for the nights we were there. Unfortunately plans changed when we got out of the airport. We didn’t realize how rough the area surrounding the college and this hotel were. The morning we left we heard some awful news stories that confirmed my daughter would not be attending school there. The hotel accommodated us by canceling our rooms and refunding the other two nights we weren’t going to stay. The young man J was very kind and patient and worked with us. He was there when we arrived and again the next morning and the whole time had a smile on his face and was beyond helpful going the extra mile. This is a good place to stay if you are choosing to come to Birmingham.
