What you can expect

Discover the historic wonders of Athens and be amazed by the iconic sites of this remarkable city on your guided tour, while we are offsetting your travel footprint. Explore the world-famous Acropolis and visit Cape Sounion, where you find the temple dedicated to the God of the Sea, Poseidon.

Your tour starts with a photo stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, built entirely of white marble and the site of the first modern-day Olympic Games. Pass major landmarks, such as the National Library, the Royal Palace with its guards dressed in uniform, and the Greek Parliament, before arriving at the ancient citadel of Acropolis.

Climb the winding gravel paths to the rocky outcrop, crowned with the building that has influenced architecture around the world. As you reach the top, far-reaching views of ancient temples and ruins open before you. Fine marble sculptures tower above as you visit the Parthenon—the most famous building on the Acropolis.

Immerse yourself in the treasures of Acropolis Museum, one of the world’s top collections of artefacts from the Greek Bronze Age and Byzantine era.

Take some time for lunch before venturing to Cape Sounion, the southernmost tip of the Attic peninsula. See the Doric columns of the Temple of Poseidon, as you stand on a rocky hilltop overlooking the placid islands of the Saronic Gulf. Admire the views across the magnificent Aegean Sea, and hear about the legend of Aegeus, who leapt to his death off the cliff after believing his son was dead—thus giving his name to the Aegean Sea.
