What you can expect

Haggle with the best of them at 3 of the most popular street markets in Gran Canaria. At Santa Brigida, San Mateo, and Teror you experience first-hand the true vibrancy and colour of the island and its people. Try some local cuisine while taking in the traditional architecture and stunning setting.

Enjoy convenient pickup from your hotel as you begin your journey to the first of the 3 markets—Santa Brigida. This lively hillside village, famed for its traditional Canary-chequered architecture, is also renowned for the high quality of its artisan products. Stroll through the market, savouring the delicious food and delighting in the warm aroma of fresh-made baked goods.

Your next stop is San Mateo, nestled in a valley of terraced hills dotted with vineyards. At this market you should try the locally produced wine and appreciate the craftsmanship of the wicker products and knives.

Your last stop, Teror, is the largest of the three town. Teror has been an important centre of pilgrimage ever since the Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared here, in what was then a pine forest. A stroll through its beautiful colonial streets lined with multicoloured houses with overhanging wooden balconies is a wonderful experience. Make sure you try a Teror spicy sausage and Flor de Guia cheese before returning to your hotel.
