It is ideal if you want to live central in Lofoten with great possibilities for excursions by car or local bus. 2,5 km to Svolvær, Lofoten's unofficial capital. The harbour has several fine restaurants where you can enjoy delightful local food. This part of Lofoten has many sights. Kabelvåg used to be Lofoten's biggest fishing village, and there are several remains here of Vågar - Northern Norways first city. Lofoten Cathedral is a church made of timber and is worth a visit. The church seats 1200 people and used to be full of fishermen during the annual winterfishing. Furthest south in Lofoten, you can experience a dramatic landscape where the small fishing villages are crammed in between the mountains and the sea.
