This hotel was great to stay in, so beautiful inside. The area is generally quiet. Although up a large hill it is in a decent area however people with mobility issues would struggle with the hill. Would stay in this hotel again and recommend to others.

Great building, so-so hotel
The only positive thing to say is that the hotel is in a building of architectural and historical interest, good location if you want to be in Mala Strana. Otherwise, it’s a mediocre place to stay, with run down rooms in need of renovation. Barebones amenities, a below average breakfast. The charm on the promotional photos does not materialize in real life.

Perfect stay

Хороший отель, отличное расположение , доброжелательный персонал, уборка. Но остался очень неприятный момент- при бронировании отеля в октябре 2019 года на период январь 2020 дважды был списан с карточки залог в сумме 44,1 евро - в октябре и январе , при заселении в отель залог не учли , списали всю сумму за номер, после выселения при обращении на рецепшен одну сумму вернули на карточку, вторую до сих пор нет.

Very old authentic hotel with stained glass windows depicting historic portraits of Czech people which was different and I liked that. Beautiful balustrades on staircase and artistic ceilings which added beauty and character to the place. Our 3rd floor superior room was spacious with more than enough cupboard space and contained very old solid wooden furniture in keeping with the character of the hotels age and style. Due to small stained glass window, the room lacked natural daylight but there was adequate electric lighting. The bathroom was spacious and adequately equipped. The breakfast dining room is small but the staff in there were efficient and pleasant. If you are wheat intollerant like me, then the eggs and greek yoghurt are nice plus there was corn and rice crackers with packets of varied spreads. There is a coffee machine and teabag selection plus juice. Several cereals and excellent choice of dried fruit and seeds. The hotel is up a steep hill past the castle so you need strong legs and good lungs. There is one slow lift in hotel and it is only big enough for 2 average sized people with cabin cases. Overall its ok for a few days.

A great little hotel, away from the crowds
A lovely hotel, tucked away, under the castle walls and lovely and peaceful, at night, once the cathedral and castle visitors have left. It is a little out of the way, and up a steep hill, but that all adds to the charm. A lovely stay in a beautiful hotel. Highly recommend for those who are happy to be away from the thronging tourists.

Hotel calme proche du château de Prague
Bel Hotel, cadre ancien agréable, quartier calme en Novembre, chambre spacieuse, pas de bruit dehors ni dedans, on peut dormir facilement. Petit déjeuner OK. Points faibles : literie trop dure/ferme à mon gout, les rideaux devraient occulter la lumière, la douche est un peu petite. Idéal si vous voulez visiter le château et être proche du centre ville. Je le recommande.

Die Lage direkt unterhalb des Schlosses ist genial. Man ist ohne Trubel mitten im Geschehen am Rande der Altstadt. Bergab zur Moldau und über die Karlsbrücke auf die andere Seite alles fussläufig machbar. Zurück mit der Straßenbahn Linie 22, dann spart man sich den Berg und geht nur 5 Minuten bergab. Wunderschöne Stadt zu der das Haus mit seinem Ambiente perfekt passt. Sehr freundliches Personal.

Very happy!
Friendly staff, fun decor, good breakfast included, pretty good location (it's an easy walk from the castle—I think you could argue that there are more sights on the other side of the river in the old town, but the castle is probably the biggest single attraction). Downside of the location is that you had to walk down the hill a bit to catch an Uber (apparently you're too close to the Castle) but generally it wasn't a big deal, and most would still drop you off in front of it. I had the fruit plate delivered to my room, and it was huge and generally very good (I thought the pineapple was exceptionl). Very happy with my choice and would likely stay there again if I returned to Prague

The whole property is unique, ceilings with paintings, windows, beds. Very positive and helpful staff, nice and tasty breakfast. Perfect location just 10 min walk from Charles bridge and 2 min from castle. Literally the best place to feel the spirit of Prague. Recommended!

Sehr schönes Barockgebäude mit entsprechender Einrichtung! KeinParkplatz am Haus. Parken auf 2 km entferntem fremdem Hotelparkplatz möglich. Irreführender Hinweis in der Werbung lautet: Parkplatz gegen Gebühr. Entfernung verschwiegen! Hotel wg. hangähnlicher Lage (Straße mit sehr starkem Gefälle, Kopfsteinpflaster) für Senioren nicht geeignet. Badewannendusche mit extrem hohem Einstieg. Selbst für sehr rüstige Senioren keine Empfehlung!

Dear guest, Thank you for your review and feedback from your stay in Hotel U Krále Karla. We are sorry to hear that your stay in our hotel did not meet your expectations. Parking in the Prague Castle area is a little bit complicated as most of the streets are marked with blue line which means visitors have to use some kind of parking for a charge. Our hotel has two registration spots for parking in the blue line area which allow our guests to park their car in front of our hotel. Unfortunately we cannot reserve parking places due to their limited number. If both places are taken, our reception staff usually recommends a possibility of parking in Hotel Pyramida as they have a guarded parking lot and it takes about 10-15 minutes to walk back to our hotel. When our guests checkout they can of course bring their car over to load their luggage before they leave. It is true that climbing the hill could be a little bit demanding, luckily there is a tram stop called Pohořelec above the hotel. Our guests can take tram 22 up to this stop and then walk about 5 minutes down to the hotel. We are sorry you were uncomfortable with the bathtub in your bathroom. Actually most of our rooms have bathroom with shower. If you mentioned this during your stay we could have given you one of those rooms. Thank you again for your feedback.
