Great hotel!!
Me and my girlfriend and our 6 month baby, had a great experience at this hotel. Here you get exactly what you pay for! The villa was very nice and clean. Good service all day :) We had som great days at this hotel. All staff was very friendly. The food from the restaurant was very good, especially the steak restaurant (tomahawk). One of the best Tomahwak steak!!! Otherwise, it is a relatively large hotel area and a little far from the main road, so you are dependent on a car or taxi. It is also so 10-15min to playa del carmen center. But thats no problem since the hotel has hotel taxi right outside:) Great hotel!!

Absolutely the best property I've stayed at. The grounds are unique, beautiful, serene, yet wild with nature. The décor is wonderful, every nook and cranny is tasteful and special. The lobby and all restaurants are gorgeous, outdoor spaces. The entire complex is walkable or bike-able. The beach is quite nice. Each individual casita is perfect, completely private, and immaculately maintained.

We have traveled to Banyan Tree Mayakoba over the last 10 years, the villa style format with private pools is amazing and very private, the spa is probably the best service you may ever experience. I think it could be even better if there were more options for dining, updating some of the villas (as the property is now 15 years old) and while there is a heavy staff presence the focus on service and engagement of requests could be improved. Overall always an amazing experience and if you are looking for private, safe and secluded time with your partner/spouse this is hands-down the best option in Rivera Maya.

The room, the property, the service was excellent. It's a beautiful place to relax and do nothing but the main issue I had was the prices for the dining and spa. They were exorbitant. Luckily for us we had a rental car and could eat outside the property. We ate lunch & dinner once. The dinner was $300 USD for a shared appetizer and main course with 4 drinks. Yes, you read it right, $300. If you're a billionaire, this is the place for you, they even have a special check-in area for those I assume are mover's and shaker's.

Everything about this property is top-notch! The resort is beautiful and well maintained. The villas are spacious and each feels very private. The service is always looking to find a way to say "yes" to your requests. And last, the dining options are diverse and every one was very good.

Maravillosa experiencia y quedamos invitados a regresar. Todos los detalles de diez. Sabemos que los precios son altos en alimentos y bebidas pero lo valen. Solo el spa creo que es exagerado y ahí no fuimos por esa razon. Conocemos muchos spas y la verdad creo que mucha más gente haríamos uso si fuera más accesible. El pueblito está abandonado y los mismos encargados de los comercios dicen que no les hacen suficiente promoción. El pueblito podría tener más gente si dieran más formación sobre lo que tienen ahí y algunos eventos para atraer a la gente. Las bicicletas excelentes opción, el ecotur formidable nos llevó Jesus en el bote y es el mejor. Las casitas hermosas, las piscinas increíbles, las amenidades de diez. Todo el personal hace un gran trabajo. Bravoooo

Honeymoon nightmare. Bedbugs en la habitación.
Fuimos por nuestra luna de miel, Solicitamos un upgrade de habitación pues contamos con ese beneficio, primero se nos negó y nos pidieron prueba para aceptarlo, una vez aceptado, tardaron 3 horas en entregarnos la villa. Todo estuvo bien en el hotel, es de los hoteles más exclusivos en Mayakoba. Por eso no puedo creer cuando regresamos a casa y mi esposa tenía piquetes de chinches “bedbugs”. Después de fumigar todo y pasar una semana terrible. Nos comunicamos al hotel para informarles sobre lo sucedido, lo único que dijeron es que ellos se deslindan de esa responsabilidad y que fumigan todo siempre. Cosa que no es así pues no creo que fumiguen cada cambio de huésped. Al final no respondieron y solo se excusaron. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCIA

This is my 2nd time staying at the Banyan Tree and it was excellent. The service was superb as the staff go out of their way to make sure you are happy and satisfied. Additionally, the renovation down at the Sands was excellent. The only minor item I’d like to see corrected is the lack of towels provided in the bathroom. Please provide more. Additionally, the bathroom soap and body gel for the shower is terrible and doesn’t lather. Best family vacation ever!
This is by far one of the nicest resorts we have every stayed. From cleanliness of rooms, to amazing food, impeccable service...every detail was spectacular. We really enjoyed all of the activities we participated in including hydrobike tour, snorkeling, archery and eco tour. We will definitely be back!

El cuarto es una casita gigantesca con su propia alberca bastante grande y un jardín. Total privacidad. No me gusto que la playa estaba muy lejos de mi cuarto, tenias que tomar un carrito como 10 minutos... tambien no me encanto su club de playa., muy apretado el espacio... y lo que si no me gusto nada fue que tienen una supuesta alberca "tranquila" pero de repente llegaron cinco estadounidenses a consumir del bar con un escíndalo y el bar puso musica de RAP a todo volumen... vaya con la "alberca tranquila"; no hay políticas?

Exactly what I needed
The resort as usual goes the extra mile with excellent service and the staff are always incredibly helpful. The new beach club area is exceptional and the beach was immaculate! The one issue are the rooms on the older side of the property. They are in desperate need of renovation and repair. I will return in the future after the rooms have been done.
