Past its best
Past it's best, carpets were filthy, bed very uncomfortable. Made do for one night but would not stay again.

Staff was very courteous and helpful. Though the room condition, esp. carpet and sofa were less than desireable. I'm sure someone could look into it as it certainly needs a refurbishment. Overall I'd say OK. Wouldn't stay with family.

Value for money.
Just an overnight stay for a concert visit. Welcome friendly, hotel warm and clean. Room comfortable and well serviced. Breakfast acceptable. Extremely good value for price paid. Would use again and recommend.

Bon hotel
Hôtel de bon confort idéalement situé. Nous n'avons pas eu de chance avec la chambre dont le chauffage ne fonctionnait pas (ni une partie des équipements électriques), mais l'hôtel nous a changé de chambre sans difficultés. Personnel de la réception très à l'écoute des clients et très serviable. Petit déj vraiment basique.

Cheap and central location
We were attending the Queen concert and found this hotel had a great central location easy walk to the Arena; loads restaurants and shops close by; the public car park was convenient but is very tight I'm pleased I wasn't driving; rooms comfortable and clean; breakfast busy so ate in the bar area but not really a problem

Zentral gelegenes Hotel
Man kann von hier wunderbar die historische Altstadt und das Nachtleben erkunden. Falls man mit dem Fahrzeug anreist, ist man auch schnell im Sherwood Forest oder bei anderen Sehenswürdigkeit, die die Midlands bieten. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilft falls Probleme auftreten. Die Reinigung der Zimmer ist recht oberflächlich. So sollte man zum Beispiel keine Gegenstände auf der Garderobe ablegen, denn dort wurde in unserem Zimmer sicher seit mehreren Wochen kein Staub gewischt. Im Allgemeinen ist das Hotel zu empfehlen, wenn man ein zentral gelegenes und preiswertes Hotel sucht und nicht zu große Ansprüche an Komfort stellt. Es ist eben nur ein 3 Sterne Haus.

stayed ther for two nights , my room was not cleaned at all , went out at 1200hrs mid day and returned at 0100hrs , complained to front desk who imformed domestis supervisor , i waited at check out to see supervisor who did not bother come and explain why my room was cleaned at all , very poor service , great location of hotel in town ,

Christmas Break at the Holiday Inn Express - Notts
I used to live in Nottingham and wanted a hotel in a good location for the shops. 24h Car parking can be expensive in Nottingham but this hotel had a deal with the local secure car park next to Hurts Yard (2 mins walk) so parking was approx £6.50 for the 24 hours which is a bargain. The room was clean, good flat screen TV, good bathroom, but bed perhaps a bit hard but this is always a personal thing so you may not have any issue here. I was expecting just a continental breakfast but there were some hot items also. Requested more pillows...not a problem and they were delivered to room in 10 minutes, I found the staff very friendly...another bonus. Combine this with a comparatively cheap rate to other hotels in the area and cheap parking I would stay here again.

The room was not cleaned, the door was damaged and a lamp was missing from one of the side table. The hotel is clearly not to the standard of other Holiday Inn. I do not recommend this place. Breakfast is average

Worst night in a hotel..
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! The bed had no brakes on it so it was moving around all the time, also it had a huge dip in the middle of the mattress which led to me and my partner having a sleepless night! The cot provided for my baby was broken which led to him having to sleep in his pram.. Along with this while trying to stop the bed from moving there where peanuts under the bed which proves the room wasn't cleaned properly.. Overall I think attention to detail is needed and the hotels interior and comfort looking in to, will not be staying here or at any holiday inn again..

Good value, pleasant night, fair breakfast
Moved to room facing away from the road on an upper floor and consequently had a peaceful night. Corridors smelt clean and fresh. Breakfast was basic but sufficient. Surprisingly good coffee. Very good vfm.

greeting was a little odd, expecting a warm and cheery greeting it was a though we'd interrupted brought the confirmation note that I had sent to confirm booking - show this them when I booked in as they coul dnot locate my name , to be told abrupt tha this is not one of ours tea and coffee not replenished Chamber maids came across rude in the corridors - unprofessional check the coffee machine in the eating area and this tasted like chemicals especially the latte . thisi was a little disappointing - but did the purpose for our needs

Had a lovely stay thank you .We stayed in room 208 and although it was a good room the mattress badly needs changing as it sinks in the middle, also the toilet seat needs tightening, gave me quite a fright when I sat down! These are only little niggles and would definitely stay again.

Family visit to Nottingham
Family visit to Nottingham to see the sights, so looking for cheap accommodation for us and 4 children. Rooms were quiet even though overlooking roundabout, suited us fine, sofa bed wasn't the greatest for an adult to sleep on but for younger children fine. Kids all tucked in to the breakfast. Well located for walking around town.

The hotel is in an ideal location bang in the middle of town...walk straight out the door into the chapel quarter...the hotel staff are extremely efficient and the lady in the dining area acutally went to tesco to buy us some gluten free bread for breakfast! Security is good but the room i stayed in - room 113 - was a little worse for wear...the carpet was very badly stained...there was a smell coming from somewere/thing....the bed was very lumpy...and the towels were small and threadbare....for the two nights i stayed there last week it was more than adequate for my needs but the rooms could definately do with some TLC and i would have been very upset if i'd paid full price for the room

come hotel non è male, in relazione alla qualità prezzo.può dar fastidio vedere vecchio macchie su pareti , inoltre il bagno senza una finestra ne ventilatore pecca. Mentre la posizione, le camere silenziose e personale dell'hotel meritano un giudizio più che positivo.Unici neo della colazione la macchinetta x caffè e cioccolata che sembra quella delle ditta e le brioches che se non vengono mangiate subito calde diventano immangiabili

Wouldn't stay here again, only positive is the location. Room was dirty with cigarette burns on carpet and water stains on the wall. Got moved to another room on same floor but still stank and wasn't comfortable.

DREADFUL CAR PARKING ARRANGEMENTS IF ARRIVING LATE HOTEL GENERALLY VERY 'TIRED' - I USE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS A LOT, BUT WOULDN'T USE THIS ONE AGAIN. THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS SATISFYING AS THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL IS FANTASTIC.IT IS NEAR TO ALL THE MAJOR LOCATIONS OF THE CITY AND ONE JUST CANNOT COMPLAIN ON THAT COUNT.HOWEVER,THE ROOM CARPET SEEMS TO HAVE WORN OUT WITH AGE AND USEAGE AND NEEDS TO BE CHANGED ON PRIORITY AS IT GIVES AN OFFENSIVE SMELL AT TIMES .THE STAFF IS COURTEOUS AND PROMPT.BREAKFAST IS JUST ABOUT OKAY AND COULD BE VARIED.ON THE WHOLE ITS VALUE FOR MONEY.

unsuitable for families, excellent for nights out
we booked a room with our 18 month toddler. there was a foldable sofa bed that became her bed, and the only way she could sleep on it was across the bed, rather than along it. The shower pod was horrible, with the toilet giving out a stench that seemed quite nasty. Even our daughter used her own travel potty in the room, because the pod was unbearable. otherwise, breakfast was reasonable, the location is really good for city centre accessibility, however it is very hard to disembark and reload a vehicle as the hotel front is on a busy roundabout. i wouldn't recommend it to young families at all. noisy too, as it is next to a city center road.

Worst stay ever
Will never recommend this to anyone. All the beds in all the rooms creak every time you change side. I booked two double bedrooms with sofa beds and was expecting both the rooms to be together but they were on different floors. I had to stay night away from my family, website does mention surcharge for parking but it is £8.60 per day and Saturday night parking was a night mare. Rooms maintenance in bad condition. Second day I was moved to the same floor as my other family and the sofa bed in that room won't open up properly and I had to sleep on that which gave me back pain since the manager told me that he will have to charge me for additional room if he moves me into single room due to bad sofa bed. What a customer service? Third day hotel staff moved me into another room and therefore my whole stay was spent moving rooms everyday of my stay and I am totally annoyed because of that.

Good hotel, shame about the traffic noise
I thought the hotel itself was more than satisfactory. Staff were friendly, service was good and the room was very comfortable. It's just a shame about the location, as the traffic noise from the busy road outside was quite loud. It did quieten down through the night but there was still a constant buzz of cars, motorbikes and lorries and as a result, I didn't really get a good night's sleep. Shame, as the hotel itself was pretty good.

Hotel really needs updating. Not a patch on the same hotel I stayed at 3/4 years ago. Carpets and curtains were dirty. Regret that some staff were really unhelpful.
