Vi har vært på dette hotellet 2 år på rad og er veldig fornøyd. Det eneste vi var misfornøyd med i år var serveringen rundt bassenget og på stranda. Det tar altfor lang tid å få kontakt med servitørene, og det tar utrolig lang tid før du får det du har bestilt. Vi klagde på det ved flere anledninger. Solsengene er generelt i dårlig forfatning og veldig dårlig kvalitet. De bør oppgraderes.

Great location. Very central. We stayed here for 6 days. The service is good but receptionist who assisted us during the course of checing in informed me which floor are we going to stay and gave me the envelope and told me that all information I needed is all written there. Top service from the Concierge(s). The rooms, I think it already served it's purpose over the years, and badly needed a renovation. The SPA receptionist was really helpful and accomodating. The food during the breakfast was OK because it is the same every morning. My son enjoyed bathing in the swimming pool. Overall, it is the location of this hotel that decided me to book.

Fantastic location by the ocean, walking distance to Valletta. Friendly and serviceminded staff in the reception.Also nice gesture with complimentary prosecco and cake for our anniversary. Bed not comfortable. Easy to fix with soft overmattresses!

Fornøyde gjester
Flott ærverdig hotell. Syns utvalget om middag var svært redusert. Frokosten var bra, vi valgte å få frokost på rommet to dager, dette var vi fornøyde med. Litt lite brød i forhold til pålegg, men det kan man bare spørre om. Eller var de som jobbet der hyggelige og behjelpelige.

Top Service and location!
Very nice hotel. Location is perfekt for those who love the sea. Private beach is epic. Service is top class. The only thing is that the poolarea could be cleaned alot better. This was poor. Other than that, the stay was superb. Clean rooms, great views. Good breakfast. Did i mention great service?

Flott hotell med perfekt beliggenhet
Fint hotell med flott bassengområde og til og med muligheter for å bade i sjøen (egen trapp ned fra bassengområdet). Fine rom, bra fasiliteter og service. God frokost. Men det aller beste med dette hotellet er beliggenheten! Av alt vi så i løpet av en uke på Malta, var utvilsomt hovedstaden Valletta det som imponerte mest. Hotellet ligger i gangavstand til byporten, samtidig som hovedholdeplassen til alle busser er like ved. Enkelt og billig å komme seg rundt på Malta ved bruk av busser (m/aircondition), og alle ruter starter/ender her. Perfekt sted å bo for å utforske fantastiske Malta. Go for it!

Vi har hatt et fantastisk opphold. Dette hotellet har det meste, ligger sentralt ved Valetta, om man ønsker er tur i gamlebyen eller og ta en buss rundt på øya. Vi har vært her før og kommer nok tilbake igjen.

I had a very disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share. Contrary to its advertised image as a five-star luxury resort, the reality is far from it. The condition of the property is dire, with the rooms featuring old, stained carpets, and the bathroom tiles cracked and showing their age. The beds, equipped with metal spring mattresses that seem to be decades old, along with unclean pillows, made for an uncomfortable setting. Moreover, there's a pervasive smell of water damage throughout the property. Upon arrival and initial inspection of our room, it became clear that the accommodations were not as promised. I promptly returned to the front desk to express that the room was not acceptable and that I would not be staying. Despite this, the hotel refused to issue a refund, citing their cancellation policy, even though my actions did not constitute a breach of contract since I had already checked in. During my time at the front desk, I witnessed two other families expressing similar complaints. What's more disheartening is Expedia's lack of accountability for the misleading representation of this property on their platform. It's widely known among the locals about the deceptive nature of this place, which is a disservice to Malta's efforts to attract tourists. I strongly advise against staying here.

The Trip Advisor reviews say it all. Firstly the staff, from all over the world, are so friendly and helpful and any little problem is quickly solved. Secondly, the breakfast was included. It includes all you can eat from healthy, cooked and continental and saves money eating out during the day. It is so convenient, being walking distance of the city of Valletta, the foot ferry to Sliema and the bus station to all parts of the island. The prices are reasonable and they are renovating parts. It's my 5th stay here and I'll be back.

Ein alter Kasten, der seine beste Zeit hinter sich hat. Wir waren zwei Tage in dem Hotel in Valetta. Es begann schon bei der Ankunft schief zu laufen. Um 13:30 war das Zimmer nicht fertig und man hat uns mitgeteilt, uns eine SMS zu schicken wenn das Zimmer fertig ist. Die SMS kam nicht. Das Zimmer war schön groß, die Matratze alt und durchgelegen. Der Blick aus dem Fenster - Buchungsklasse „partial Harbour View“ - ging in einen Hinterhof. Den Harbour konnte man sehen, wenn man sich über die Brüstung des Balkons gelehnt hat. Ein Wechsel des Zimmers war angeblich nicht möglich. Beim Frühstück konnte man zwischen Tee und einem schwer genießbaren Kaffee wählen. Cappuccino, etc. musste gesondert bezahlt werden. All in all nicht die beste Erfahrung.

Concierge was great , restaurant staff and spa were also amazing! Really hard to get hold of reception or room service at times! The flush didn’t work properly and had to wait hours for it to work, when you have a 5 years old it can be hard to work with something that’s not working! Also the saune is not indicated I couldn’t find it ! Swimming pool is great and big enough! The artist on Saturday night was great ! Overall I would come back to stay in the hotel

Chose this hotel because of a previous stay and also proximity to Valletta. My wife has a wheelchair which we found was not very good to get to Valletta with as the pathways are not very good, but a taxi was cheap and quick enough. Wish they would use disabled people to plan these features. Hotel itself was marvellous.

In general a nice, clean hotel. Location is great. You can go to Valletta city center on foot. It could be more child friendly. Sauna was not allowed for my 9 year old son who regularly goes to Sauna with us on ski holidays.

Lovely stay at this hotel but sadly facilities let it down a bit. Staff are wonderful, great breakfast but room a bit dated ( although bed very comfortable) bathroom has a very deep but short bath. Hand shower above by doesn’t reach so you can wash your hair! Separate shower cable but only has large fixed shower head on the ceiling! No hot water from sink but plenty in bath! All in all good stay but could do with a bit of an upgrade to make it 5*!

Piscine intérieure très agréable, grande et accessible de 9h à 23h. La station des bus à 400m. Bon emplacement de l'hôtel en bord de mer. Grosse déception au petit déjeuner ou l'expresso est en supplément , c'est la première fois que je vois ça dans cette catégorie d'hôtel . J'avais envoyé un mail pour avoir un étage élevé, finalement nous étions au second ( sur 10 niveaux que compte l'établissement) et pour demander s'il fournissait des adaptateurs électriques, je n'ai jamais eu de réponse avant notre arrivée.

This property is past its best years..Requires some proper cleaning and renovation. The best thing about excelsior is its location, which is convenient and its staff, especially Jordan, who was very helpful and caring. We were disappointed with the poor quality of breakfast buffet. Omelet was on a verge of being burnt and very flat. Not 5 star at all. Lots of poor quality breads and overall disappointing. Yet again, the serving staff was nice. Poor room cleaning.

The rooms need upgrading. The floors are carpet, and the sliding door to the balcony was stuck. The beds were tiny and if you have a third adult in the room they give you a rollaway bed with a thin mattress. The breakfast buffet was great and had a nice view. The location wasn’t bad as it’s walking distance to restaurants. We used the pool but it didn’t look very clean, especially the jacuzzi as it had lots of stains. Reception staff were really nice.

Time for a facelift
This hotel was once, and could be again, a very grand experience. While it’s very well run and the staff are amazing, the entire place is a little tired. It’s time to refresh it all from the lobby to the lounge to the spa and most importantly the guest rooms.
