Our stay was perfect. The hotel is very close to the ferry 10 egp and you're in the other side. Room was confortable and clean. The service was good thanks to Rafa abd his team hassan and mohamed.

First off staying on the West Bank is the way to go. East bank is crowded, loud, and full of tourists. If you want a bit quieter more local option the West Bank is great. That being said Hotel Sheherazade is a gem! Safe location tucked away off the Main Street. The property is large and has everything you need. Clean pool, large courtyard, great restaurant area, and the staff and owner are so so nice and helpful. We booked one night but ended up staying three! It’s a 3 minute walk to the dock to catch a boat to east bank, and 15 minute taxi to see valley of kings, temple of Hatshepsut, etc. believe the hype, this little hotel is a great deal, and you will feel like a local and treated as part other family. 10/10 would stay a million times more.

The personnal is very friendly and helpful. Nice hotel located in the west bank, with a swimming pool. The garden is nice too. You can take the boat to cross the nil for going in Louxor. Good food for lunch or diner

We make no claims to be a luxury hotel , we advertise as a budget hotel, and our prices reflect this. But you dont give any explanation as to what you found lacking in the hotel. Please contact me and let me know what you think should be improved, in particular WHAT basic amenities are lacking?

Great stay
The staff was great. They made it feel more like a family visit than a hotel. They helped arrange tour of a bunch of West Bank sites, and generally went out of way to be helpful throughout stay. I preferred staying on West Bank, though more hotels are on east side. Property included a good restaurant and a pool.

Luxor j’adore, great hotel
Excellent stay in Sheherazade, Mohammed and his team are all really very sympathic and makes you feel home. They helped to book tours, transfers or anything you need with great quality guides. Great location 5min from the nil, the pool is a great area and refreshment after visiting Valley of the kings. Very good food for lunch too I highly recommend Sheherazade hoping to come back again.

The best hotel on West Banks
This is a nice, quiet place to stay. The staff is super helpful. The person in charge of breakfast would wake up early for me and have it ready. The owner worked with.my wife and arranged tour guides and private taxis to East bank and airport. I highly recommend this place. Thanks all for making our stay pleasant and memorable. inshallah, we will be back again!

Staff was friendly, courteous, accommodating, and helpful almost to a fault. Room for the price was excellent, food was delicious, beverages were refreshing. Did I mention the pool? My family and I loved the pool. The valley of the Kings is only minutes away. Hot air balloon rides even closer. I will definitely stay here again.

I think this property is great and I would highly recommend it. It is easy to find but it is also in an authentic residential area which I enjoyed as it gave me a flavour of the 'real' Egypt. Mohamed, the owner was very helpful and friendly, as were all the staff. I also liked that it was very near to fields and a banana plantation where I could enjoy watching birds. I hope to return again in future.

Firstly, the location of the hotel is really good if you are staying at the West Bank of Luxor. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the ferry to the west bank. There are some small shops around it so it’s convenient. The area of the hotel itself is not the greatest, very small dirt road to get to it. Upon checking in they said we are getting a twin room rather than a double as they ran out of doubles but we just moved them together ourselves and that worked alright so it wasnt the end of the world. The room itself is okay, the bathroom can use a bit of updating but it wasnt too bad.

Great stay on the West Bank
Fantastic deal in Luxor on the West Bank. Wi-Fi wasn’t working at the time but this is towards the end of the major Covid pandemic. The pool was great, the bar and restaurant where too

Country cozy
The staff here are very friendly. We arrived very late in the night. We were supposed to have 1 room for 4 people but they gave us 2 rooms for the same price which worked out better. We were only there to sleep one night and we had to leave early morning. Its not the ritz but its simple and they have a nice country style. We had a nice breakfast the next day. You do wake up to the sound of rooster which was kind of cute.

We advertise Hotel Sheherazade as a Budget Hotel, we make no pretensions to be a Luxury Hotel, which seemingly this guest was expecting. We do not provide free toiletries, or tv or fridge but for the $15 per nt which the guest paid we provide clean bedroom, ensuite bathroom, a good breakfast and an award winning swimming pool in extensive gardens.We freely admit the Wi-Fi is not good but unfortunately this is not just a hotel problem but a national problem - Egypt as a whole is in the bottom 10 of ALL countries in the world for internet provision. We don't understand the guests comment of "no access to local businesses" . We are located in a small village on the West Bank - what we DO have access to is a 10 min drive to some of the most famous and beautiful monuments in the world - Valley of the Kings, Nefertaris Tomb in Valley of the Queens, Hatshepsuts Temple, the Ramesseum, Medinet Habu Temple - and many more sites. We are also just a few minutes walk from the banks of the Nile, with ferry, motorboats and felluccas offering sailing opportunities.

Haben ein Doppelzimmer für 2 nächte gebucht ohne Klimaanlage. Wir haben genau das gekriegt bzw. Waren in unseren zimmer noch zwei Einzelbetten. Preisleistungsverhältniss hat auch gepasst. Ist ein einfaches hotel was nett eingerichtet ist. Raumaufteilung des hotels hat uns gut gefallen. Im zimmer war ein Ventilator der gut gegangen ist und alle Fenster im Schlafzimmer hatten Mosquitonetze (außer im bad) so konnte man in der Nacht gut Lüften. Die Poolanlage wa auch super. Bei uns war nix los (oktober) wir waren meistens alleine am pool. Eine Reisegruppe war dann meistens zum Abendessen in der Nähe vom Pool aber so schnell wie sie da sind so schnell sind sie wieder weg. Essen dort im Hotel schmeckte sehr gut und war auch frisch. Preise für Getränke und Essen waren nicht überteuert sonderm eher preiswert. Wir konnten uns aussuchen wann wir frühstücken wollten. Wir als nicht frühaufsteher war das super. Alles im allen würden wir nochmal wiederkommen vielleicht aber doch mit Klimaanlage im zimmer, denn wir haben ziehmlich heiße tage erwischt.

Hotel Sheherazade is a great value. The building and grounds are beautiful and the rooms are basic but with AC and comfortable beds. The pool was a nice treat. Breakfast was substantial and served just off the courtyard. The wifi signal wasn't great in my room or in the lobby, but I wasn't expecting much. The hotel transfer was a bit expensive compared to taking a taxi, but the drivers were timely and professional and it was worth it to me not to have to deal with haggling with a taxi driver. The location is great--just a five-minute walk to the ferry across the Nile and plenty of nearby shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe here, which is really important to me. I will definitely stay again if I ever return to Luxor.

It is particularly important for small budget hotels like ourselves who don't have the same large numbers of guests that the luxury hotels have. Sorry about the Wi-Fi but this seems to be a problem in the whole of Egypt, and not just the hotel unfortunately.

Convenient for West Bank hotel
Convenient West Bank hotel that is clean, and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Hot Water is scalding hot so be careful showering. Has pool but did not use because it was too cold.,,but clean. Pleasant garden area and they strike up a fire in a pit each evening. Easy ferry or private boat across Nile for 5LE. Not much on the West Bank in evening but great launching pad for the sites.

Ce serait super si l'hôtel était bien entretenu, mais il y a des problèmes de plomberie et d'électricité, comme douche fonctionnant mal avec pomme cassée, robinets qui fuient ou ampoules manquantes ou ne fonctionnant pas. Le personnel est plutôt sympa, mais pas du tout stylé, avec des jeunes scotchés à leur portable, parlant trop fort ou traînant les pieds... C'est dommage sinon, l'établissement est plutôt sympa. Situé sur la rive Ouest avec accès à tous les sites majeurs E et W avec le ferry, à 5' de marche, qui coûte 5c d'euro... Vélos à louer pour 2€/jour et repas à 5 € max...

Conveniently located hotel on the west bank
Like so many other hotels in Egypt, the lack of customers has a detrimental effect on the maintenance of the hotel. It is clear that they are struggling to cope but in spite of all of the challenges, I enjoyed my stay. The staff was prepared to do anything to make our stay pleasant. Any requests was attended to quickly and efficiently. The hotel is close to the river (although no view of the Nile). It is a few minutes walk to the ferry and for only 1 Egyptian pound, you can travel with the ferry to the east bank. The rate was very reasonable. If you prefer the more local feel of a city, then this is an excellent choice.

Были в отеле 4 дня в январе 2017 г. Номер 405 свеже-отремонтированный и очень чистый. Кухня вкусная. На ужин обычно брали пиццу с курицей и шаурму. Клубнику и дыни покупали в овощной лавке по дороге к отелю. Понравилось то, что отель не навязывал каких-либо своих дополнительных услуг, но если от нас была какая-либо просьба, персонал делал это быстро и хорошо. Скорость бесплатного WiFi была приемлема.

Should not expect too much
Considering the price I payed per night (12 GBP) I should have been more prepared and tolerate, but as the previous customers reviews were outstandingly good, I was disappointed to see the reality. To be honest, the great thing about this hotel was only price and quiet neighbor. Apart from that, I have to say my room was not exactly clean, hot shower was unstable(in December, the temperature could get to single digit and it was freezing without hot shower),no heating in the room, not trained staff ( I asked for a hair dryer which was not equipped in the room, and 1 staff told me there is none in the facility, and I tried different staff next day, and yes they do have a dryer that guest could use), towels were very rough, one day they forgot to clean the room. I should not have expected more than I had paid for.

Good place to stay
This is a value for money hotel. It would be classed as a budget hotel but the service from the staff and management is 1st class. They are genuinely interested in making your stay a pleasure. The rooms are clean with air condition Finding the hotel the first time can be a bit of a challenge and the condition of the street access would lead you to question if you are in a safe location. The place is perfectly safe and its only 5 minutes walk to the main ferry which will take you to the east bank. I was perfectly happy staying here with my teenage daughters

Landestypisches Hotel - Geheimtipp in Luxor
Das Hotel Sheherazade trägt seinen Namen zu Recht: Man taucht aus der westlichen Welt in eine Oase aus 1001 Nacht ein. Der Innenhof ist groß und tropisch grün, Vögel zwitschern - und es ist ruhig! Auf der Westbank in einem kleinem Dorf gelegen (Zufahrtstraße nicht asphaltiert ...), ist man weit ab von der hektischen Ostseite Luxors - die aber trotzdem per Fähre schnell und unkompliziert zu erreichen ist. Man kann auch abends spazierengehen, wird von den Dorfbewohnern, vor allem den Kindern, gegrüßt und muss sich um die Sicherheit keine Sorgen machen. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und zweckmäßig, WLAN gibts überall, allerdings keinen Fernseher, kein Telefon (braucht man sowieso nicht). Für mich am wichtigsten: Man schläft sehr ruhig. Gutes Essen, sowohl mittags als auch abends :-) Der Service ist herzerwärmend: Immer ist ein Lächeln da, immer wird liebenswürdig gefragt: Alles ok? Jede Anfrage wird prompt ausgeführt - und dabei ist der Service immer zurückhaltend. Mohammed, der Eigentümer, organisiert z.B. Taxis zu den Gräbern und Sehenswürdigkeiten: 150 LE + 50 LE Trinkgeld für den Fahrer für einen halben Tag, Fahrer wartet, während man die Sehenswürdigkeiten anschaut. Zverlässiges Airport-Abholen/Hinbringen, auch in der Nacht. Ebenso zuverlässiger Weckdienst.

A bit of tranquility in Luxor
Hotel staff were lovely and very helpful, let me check in early when I arrived at 6am. The hotel is built around a courtyard, and most importantly has a swimming pool which is very handy in the Egyptian heat. The location is on the West Bank of Luxor which is quieter and takes you out of the hassle of the main tourist area - I definitely found this a bonus as I was hassled non stop the second I walked around the East Bank. A ferry runs 24 hours a day to take you across the Nile for 1 egp per trip and the hotel is a 5 min walk from the ferry dock, very easy to find.

Nice hotel & location, but not so nice staff
L'hotel sheherazade est un très bon hotel : vraiment très beau, bien situé (sur la West Bank qui est un peu moins touristique que la East Bank & proche des bateaux qui permettent de traverser le Nil pour rejoindre l'autre partie de la ville), très propre. Le gros point négatif est le staff : vraiment peu accueillant, très froid. Nous avions l'impression de déranger. (Sauf la personne qui s'occupait de l'hotel de nuit et tôt le matin, vraiment très agréable) ____________________________________________________________ Hotel Sheherazade is a very nice hotel : beautiful architecture, perfect location (not as touristique as hotel located on East Bank & easy access to the city center via ferries), very clean. However, we were really not happy with the staff. They were quite rude with us all the time (except the person who is taking care of the hotel at night and early morning).

Great value for money
Keen to please, the manager made sure we were looked after. Its clean, nice pool (which you NEED in Luxor) and serves a simple but wholesome breakfast (Continental + egg)

We loved it , and we're heading back to stay there
All the staff are lovely ,and very helpful , they catered very happily to our needs , even catering to our vegetarian requirements .We especially loved returning to our beautifully cleaned rooms every day to find new creatures sculpted from the clean towels . They even helped us with creating individual tours to local sites and even a longer tour to Aswan and Abu Simbal .

Nice hotel with a pool
It is a ferry away from the main town which is only 5 mins and 1 egyptian pound. The staff was excellent. Rafael was amazing! He picked us from the ferry since we did not know where the hotel was. The breakfast was yummy and the room was relly nice and clean.

Very good!
The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful - whatever your desire is. The hotel is located on the more calm side of luxor - not far away from the valley of the kings. To visit the luxor temple on the other side of the nile - just take the ferry and you are there. I do definetly come back soon!
