Look, lets now kid ourselves here, this place is really only suited for people in their 20's travelling the world on a budget.
I booked the place for 5 nights trying to save some money in my stay in Croydon.
After 20 mns of waiting in the communal area i realised at my age - 45 - this aint the place for me. Or anyone else above 30.
The kitchen was full of younguns doing their thing- belching, swearing, trying to fry an egg, slamming stuff, dropping stuff on the floor, meaning more swearing and so on, It was all non offensive and i never felt threatened or worried about security etc but at my age its just not my thing. And i cant imagine anyone over 30 who is a working professional would feel comfortable here.
I had a peek in an empty room that was open in my short time here. In fairness it looked clean and tidy enough to stay.
So I may be on my own here, but i just didnt feel the "environment".
I may be going out on a limb here, but im guessing the place may shelter young people who are homeless or at threat of being homeless or in difficult situations that the local council look after. And thats terrific. Im all for it. But for 5 nights its just not my thing, and im not saying that in a snobbish way as i did flat sharing in london for 10 years with all sorts. And im a pretty robust person. But its just not for me at this point in my life.
So my conclusion is pretty simple - if youre loosely below or around 30 and cruising the world this place is ok.
