First, it was acceptable. Most of my issues are based on two things: age of the property and cleanliness.
The property is showing its age. They made attempts to update but that's not enough. Sidewalks are uneven, doors stick, lighting in the room isn't great. Nothing horrible but something a good multi-year project to upgrade would fix.
My room needed a good thorough clean and check of all features. It was a bunch of little things - spider webs in the corners of the wall, odd counts of silver wear (4 knives, 2 spoons?), bathroom sink that backed up with the smallest trickle of water, TVs that have different channel lineups from room to room, dirty areas where the daily cleaning just isn't going to get to but over time, it builds up. Again, nothing horrible but someone taking a checklist room to room over time and addressing would be a big win.
Staff was fine. One day I was working in the room room and asked for no cleaning. That translated to no housekeeping for my entire stay but that's a quibble. I didn't eat the breakast so no comment there.
Security: property is at the intersection of two busy roads. There is no access control to get to your door. Keycard gates at the access points from parking would help increase the perception of security.
If the price was right, I'd stay again but it would not be a 1st choice. I was going to share my thoughts at check out but another guest had a similar set of issues for the clerk and I didn't have time to wait.
