I had a lovely stay at Ashby manor. My room had a balcony overlooking the sea. The staff were very warm and welcoming and I felt safe as a lone female traveller. its a great location for the beaches...a quiet peaceful area. I would highly recommend Ashby manor. Wonderful views and Liesel is a super host.

LOVELY ONE NIGHT STAY
We only stayed for one night but it was a very pleasant stay and our host was so adorable and made sure we comfortable for the night. The room was neat and clean and I just loved the decor of lion/cheetah/leopard.

The property was in a convenient part of town and was affordable. However, no staff person was present either for my checkin (5pm) and checkout (8am) so a long-term resident had to help me check in and I just left the key in the room for the check out. Additionally the bedding was stained and not very clean.

Hi ChristopherThank you for your review. Since covid we only have staff on the property from 7am to 5pm 6 days a week and on a Sunday from 8 to 5. We are always a phone call away and our contact details are locate in central places. Most guest prefer the contactless check in and check out. I am not sure why your linen was stained. We recently replaced most of our linen. I am so sorry about this. I will find out why. May I please offer you a discount when you next stay for the inconvenience.

La chambre est très mal isolée donc on entend toutes les chambres des voisins … la salle de bain mériterait d’être rénovée, la puissance de la douche est catastrophique. Les tasses de cafés dans la chambre étaient salles. Le lit est confortable et il y a une jolie vue.

Location is Key
We booked and stayed for 1 night and it was worth the price...Old and Eclectic style, a bit much in some areas. Pleasant staff, a fan provided as no air-con and a lovely view of the ocean. The shower was a bit dodgy and leaked after use...towels and bedding had some stains (all white so easy to spot)...bar-fridge was placed precariously on a stool under the TV Due to Covid, no breakfast was served but overall experience was fine.

Peaceful Accommodation
We had a very pleasant stay. Extremely relaxing seeing as both the neighborhood and Manor is very peaceful and quiet. A little disappointed that the website indicates breakfast included, unfortunately upon arrival it was made clear there is no breakfast. Other than that, excellent stay. Highly recommended.

Please remove this property!
Was a terrible experience and there was renovations taking place, stuff lying around and doors not closing and locking properly. Worst experience and we have been booking a lot of hotels on your site

Amazing place to stay, has a lot of character. Friendly and quick check in. I stayed in room 8 on the top floor with amazing views. Winter is cold and wet, so bring along a hot water bottle for bed. Will definitely stay here again

Jolie guesthouse
Belle Guesthouse, joliment décorée avec des tableaux partout. Le personnel est charmant et le petit déjeuner délicieux. Il fait par contre un peu froid dans l’établissement la nuit et le matin. (Surprenant pour des français habitués aux maisons chauffées) Ici, pas de chauffage et les fenêtres souvent ouvertes (on a pu constaté depuis que c’est un peu partout comme ça, malgré des températures descendant sous 10 degrés la nuit) Prévoir un pyjama bien chaud et votre séjour sera parfait !

This is a great place stay. Just be careful in choosing your rooms as some of them lack privacy in terms of toilets and baths. Otherwise, it is a great b&b

Home away from home
Great location near shops and local transportation. Excellent hot and cold breakfast served. Secure parking. The building is full of charm with lots of beautiful artwork! This was our third stay and will be back again for another night before we leave South Africa! Highly recommend this Ashby Manor

Back in Cape Town
I stayed in the huge family room (room 4). It has access to a shared balcony with 2 other rooms. The only down thing is is that other guests smoke on the balcony, which can be annoying to a non-smoker. Lovely breakfast. Welcoming check in. I will definitely stay here again.

Nice property, good location
The guest house was good but I didn’t realise I wasn’t going to be in the main house, my door was on the road-side of the property. This was rather disconcerting especially when returning in the evening. The room itself was lovely. A comfortable bed, with a well equipped kitchen area & good sized ensuite shower room. The only problem was that there was NO HOT WATER. I was told to run the water for 5 minutes. This was rather worrying as Cape Town was encountering its worse drought in 100 years! Breakfast was good and there was plenty to choose from. They kindly let me leave my bags during the day & arranged a taxi to me next property, which was very helpful. It’s in a good location, near bus stops. Shops and restaurants are a short walk downhill. Seapoint beach and additional bus stops are a little further away.

3rd stay at Ashby Manor
My 3rd stay at Ashby Manor. It is winter in Cape Town so fab deals on fab rooms. Stayed in the luxury double room (number 7) with en suite bathroom: a spacious loft room with private balcony and amazing view! Friendly staff as always and yummy homey breakfast. Also espresso maker in the room. One suggestion: Please leave a fluffy blanket also as the duvet is not warm enough. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs as this grand dame of a manor house has wooden floors.

Buono, posizione tranquilla ma necessaria l'auto!
La Guesthouse è in un quartiere calmo e carino, non c'è molto rumore e sembra residenziale. E' in buona posizione vicino praticamente a tutto, ma bisogna comunque avere un auto per spostarsi perché a piedi non c'è praticamente niente prima di qualche km. La colazione è buona e il personale gentile, unica pecca la nostra camera era veramente piccola quasi non riuscivamo a passare tra il letto e il bagno...... ho visto altre camere più grandi però!

Nice hotel to stay for a few days. Air conditioning was bad, but the rest of the stay was very good. Expect to wait a bit for breakfast.

Ao chegar o funcionário não encontrou minha reserva, isso foi bem complicado. No final ele encontrou e pediu desculpas. O quarto era muito bom mas o café da manhã era mediano. A localização era muito boa.

Creaky old house, quaint, but not for connisseurs.
The locality was great for our purpose. Parking was an issue, and we landed up parking on the street a few times, which was not ideal, as it is a busy road. The breakfasts need to be vastly improved. They took a very long time to arrive, and everything was cold when it did arrive. Eggs were not made to order, as per the board. They had been precooked, and were as hard as rock - this was the fried eggs. One morning we had a plate of cut lemons on the table as a fruit option! It was either that or an apple. Staff cornered us as we arrived from our long trip and wanted all the paperwork completed before we'd even had a chance to refresh. Everything still needs fine tuning.

They charged us more than double, on expedia we booked the hotel for 35 usd but they charged our credit card in the holtel 55 usd. They promised the breakfast but than they totally forgot it. Some rooms havent got bathroom and the staircase is very noisy

My room was in the attic. While I had to watch my head to not knock the rafters, the views were lovely, including the view from the bath tub. My room had a semi-private balcony with easy chairs for relaxing in.
