Veldig mye trafikk av fly over hotellet.
Personal er hjelpsomme . Maten er god og man kan få landsopplevelse og romantisk følelse fra miljø rundt. Rom var ren og sengen var god for en god soven. Alt i alt hotellet var fin for overnatting.

A bit chilly
Veldig hyggelig og fint hotell med veldig koselige rom og bad. Det eneste som trekker ned er at det var veldig kaldt innpå selve rommet. Og da orker vi heller ikke å dusje.. Hehe.

Hyggelig hotell m idyllisk hage
Sjarmerende historisk hotell med flott hage. Stort fint rom med stor seng. Veldig hyggelig og imøtekommende betjening. En taxitur fra flyplassen eller til togstasjonen.godt utgangspunkt for både London og Cambridge med tog, hvis en liten taxitur til stasjonen er OK. Obs. Nær flyplass, fly kommer rett over, bring ørepropper.

Koselig herskapshotell
Kom sendt på kvelden og dro gry tidlig dagen etter. Rommet var veldig fint. Virket som ett stille og fredelig område. Veldig bra service i resepsjon

Helt greit hotell, slitt, litt i ingenmannsland om en ikke har bil. Skulle være en mellomstasjon for oss ei natt for å komme nærmere flyplassen til tidlig fly.Måtte benytte taxi, men det fungerete greit.

No sleep.
We booked 2 rooms, due to a late finish at work. Would have been better to return home at 2 am in the morning. Noisy guests on and off until 3am, which you can get at any hotels, but the rooms do not insulate from the noise. I asked if there was a night porter to help manage noisy guests the next morning to be told yes. I asked could they not walk around the buildings to manage nuisance guests. I was told in the night porters defence he may not have heard them, which I highlighted was clearly the case when there is a road and 500m between. Both rooms booked were in different parts of the hotel, but both parties were disturbed. I get the impression people book here to leave for flights in the early hours. Would not have left a review if my feedback had been listened to rather than strange excuses given.

Very handy near Stansted for early flight. Right under flight parh but quite FUN,on does get used to the sound of aircrafts taking off after a while. Beautiful setting.

Nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff, however the bar was unmanned and had to request reception to provide bar service which made not bother. And there was no in hotel evening meals available. The hotel is still refurbishing their restaurant and other areas. There was a lot of noise in the early hours as I could hear heavy footsteps in room above me, people moving furniture about, and people going up and down stairs slamming doors etc. Not a peaceful sleep at all.

Could do better
Am going to say poor really staff were very nice no issues there however couldnt get tv on in 1st room so was moved tv worked however shower was cold so moved again was put in another which was a big room but felt empty cold needed more furniture shower took a while to heat up tv kept jumping to netflix with names i had no clue ...heating not able to ajust in room just all a bit cold wouldnt stay again shame grand building grounds okay and parking lacking the love and whats with the 2 teabag thing which all hotels are doing so you got to go and request more MADDNESS

Upon arriving we noticed a signed saying that the bar and restaurant were closed for the foreseeable future! There were no facilities to get food or drink and we had to drive out to find somewhere. This was not ideal and we were lucky a pub served us as it was gone 8.00 pm. Also there are very low flying planes all day and all night which is extremely noisy. There are earplugs supplies in the drawers of the bedside cabinet which says it all!! The hotel is not in a good state, the bar and restaurant is empty, another room you walk through is like a ghost town, the lake is a mess and you can’t walk round it very well. It’s a real shame as this would be a lovely place if someone bothered to spend the money. I blame hotels.com as nowhere on the site for this hotel did it say there was no bar or restaurant even though the hotel informed me they were informed back in March! They don’t tell you about the planes either!!!

I have stayed here several times. It is a good value hotel close to Stansted. I always end up with a room across the road and not in the main hall. It is dark over there and between 1am-3am, when I tend to check in after a late flight, there tends to be at least one male guest still up and loitering about outside. I have never had any trouble and they mind their own business but it can be disconcerting to a lone female traveller late at night. It is clean, but the beds can be a little rickety. It is under the flight path and has single pane windows so pack ear plugs. Works fine for me though to get for a few hours sleep before hitting the road. Why do I stay? A great cooked to order breakfast option! Shame they invested in a coffee machine as the cafetière coffee they used to do was much better. Also the sausages used to be better. But it is still 1000% better than Holiday Inn Express or Premier Inn breakfasts.

good hotel
staff were very helpful and did more than enough during our stay. Rooms need a bit of updating and if you are a light sleeper, i would highly recommend ear plugs as you are on the flight path to stansted. would of liked to have been told in advanced that the bar and restaurant was closed due to refurbishment. would stay again due to location and to see what it is like when it is fully running

Essential facilities not provided
Advertised as 4 star with restaurant and bar, more like 2/3 star with no restaurant and bar available. It’s unacceptable to accept bookings with clear miss representation and not inform clients and give the opportunity to cancel and book elsewhere. Double glazing so close to the flight path was sadly not provided and we had a sleepless disturbed night.

Put some accurate signs in place
Limited staff numbers. Poor signage. Staff were frustrated when you needed their help, that you hadn’t been a mind reader or because you followed the instructions that were in place, only to find the signs weren’t accurate!

Good place for Stansted Stopover
Overall we were happy with our overnight stay. Unfortunately the bar had limited opening hours and the restaurant was closed due to refurbishment (June 22). Room was fine and an ideal location for a Stanstead stopover.

Room nice staff pleasant other customers up till 1:00am drunk shouting and slamming doors. Then again at 3:00 when they left which was not great but not the hotel’s fault.

The room was good value, clean and comfortable- there are no onsite facilities, no bar, room service or food - I was debited £25 extra on arrival in case of incidental expenditure but there was nothing to buy - I will wait and see if this is credited back to me. I had to leave my key on the desk when leaving as there was no one on the front desk and no box for the key - the hotel felt as though it had seen better days

When booking there was no information to say they were in the middle of a renovation and the restaurant was closed. No food except breakfast. Receptionist was very unprofessional. Boorish when tried to arrange a meeting room. Just not interested.

Please don’t stay here
Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. When I arrived the staff were dealing with another complaint. Room was filthy, staff weren’t helpful at all. Courtyard view was a flat roof. Bar closed, restaurant closed and when I asked for a glass the man behind reception said ‘glass? Really? All I have is pens’ and then laughed at me? Please pay the extra money and stay somewhere else.
