A pleasant stay.
We had 9 great days at Outrigger. The staff was exellent and did everything to make us happy. The room was clean and pristine. And we felt safe the entire stay. Had read some reviews about ordering the all inclusive package versus half board. And to this I have to say that if you are not planning on drinking heavy amounts of alcohol each day, half board is more than enough. We ate, drank an got several massages and still did not end up paying the same amount that the all inclusive package cost. We booked our stay at the Outrigger because it said theat it was good for snorkeling. And it was. the current was a bit heavy now in June but it was not that big of a problem.

Great location, however the access was a bit tricky. We reached there in the night and the maps were inaccurate. Staff were very friendly and organized a great Easter egg hunt for kids. Food options can be better and this was mentioned by other guests too. The beach, pool and surrounding area was fantastic, and this is a great base to explore the south of Mauritius.

Before listing those areas where the hotel fell short, its worth mentioning that the staff were very friendly and always tried and help wherever possible. Aside from the pleasant staff, I'm afraid we certainly didn't have an enjoyable stay. This may well be a good resort for families as there is a big pool with activities and loud music but not for those looking to relax. Outrigger is listed as a five star resort. This is definitely not the case - more like three star...especially when compared to other truly five star hotels we visited on the island. There are a number of areas which definitely need highlighting (in no particular order): 1) The food in the main buffet restaurant is of a very poor quality, often defrosted and certainly not fresh. 2) The service at the restaurant is chaotic. Lots of staff running around with no clear system. 3) Main dining hall feels more like a school canteen. 4) There is a restaurant where you can pay extra and the food is better, but service still lacking and often small portion sizes. 5) The beach hut (by the main pool) serves substandard food for a 5* hotel (expect only burgers and pizzas). 6) We ordered two strawberry daquiris and were served iced strawberry from the slush puppy machine. The barman said he could just 'add rum' if we wanted a daquiri! Unacceptable. 7) Rooms were ok, good size but v small tv and nothing in the mini fridge 8) You'll need a car, remote part of the island! 9) Hotel still under renovation

This is a nice resort for those who want a nice experience, whilst having the flexibility of meal plans, facilities and location. The staff were really helpful and always had a smile!! They teied their utmost best to make sure you had a great stay, and if it did go wrong, they were quick to reaolve things in the best way possible. Food quality was really good, however at times it did get repetitive. This was reailved again by a fdw simple request, which the staff were more than happy to help with. This extends to the dinner aswell. The buffet has theme nights for cuisines, thus avoiding repetition on mains and salads. However desserts were generic and much tye same theoughout. It would've been even better if the desserts followed the theme also. But, this could be due to wastage and other more relevant reasons, hence wasn't a big deal for my wife & I. Some staff were incredible - Dinson (manager), diksha (receptionist), Lukhoo (chef), Sheetal (buffet assistant, John & the other waiters/waitresses were really amazing in helping us with our dietary needs, and Lukhoo especially is an incredibly gifted chef! Room cleaning was decent, with the odd time we had to request something. The rooms themselves could've been better if the doors were properly sealed. We used to find ants and the odd gecko which decided to make its home inside ours. Overall, my wife & I had a great stay at the Outrigger and we would certainly consider returning.

En tant que client ayant séjourné dans cet hôtel bord de mer, je peux dire que mon séjour a été parfait à tous égards. L'hôtel a tout ce qu'il faut pour passer des vacances exceptionnelles au bord de la plage. Le service était impeccable, chaque membre du personnel était extrêmement serviable et sympathique, répondant à tous nos besoins avec promptitude et professionnalisme. Ils ont vraiment fait l'effort supplémentaire pour rendre notre séjour inoubliable. La piscine était magnifique, propre et bien entretenue, entourée de chaises longues confortables et des parasols. Nous avons passé des moments de détente dans l'eau pendant des heures et profité du beau temps. La nourriture était délicieuse, chaque repas était préparé avec soin et de manière savoureuse. Le restaurant principal offrait une grande variété de plats locaux et internationaux, pour satisfaire tous les goûts. Nous avons également apprécié les cocktails dans le bar au bord de la plage, sirotant un verre en admirant la vue magnifique de la mer. Enfin, le personnel de l'hôtel était incroyablement attentionné et prévenant, prêt à aider à tout moment. Ils ont fait de leur mieux pour accueillir toutes nos demandes, y compris les transferts et les réservations de restaurants locaux. Dans l'ensemble, je recommanderais vivement cet hôtel bord de mer à tous les voyageurs souhaitant passer des vacances de rêve. Not a 5* hotel
This place could have been 5* but long time ago. I stayed at 4 different hotels during the last 20 days, and this was on the edge of a 3-4* star. Rooms need renovation. Some pictures attached. Service mediocre, one poor guy for all pool area all days, no beeping solution to order etc. Not fresh bread at breakfast at all days, wifi at room sometimes not working. Espresso at breakfast came from a machine (undrinkable) I can go on with more details, but as a summary, do not book if you really want a 5* experience. Some area of the resort seemed to be quite empty, or desserted, never reached the pavilion area. Spa was under renovation and in general this resort was not a good experience for us. Please put some more lights in the rooms ! ceiling lights or something !

A beautiful beach and great options for pools, especially loved Plantation Club where afternoon tea is a must. The Edgewater Restaurant is excellent and Bar Bleu good for casual meals though options limited. The spa treatments were great.

Camera: pioveva dal soffitto, poca pulizia, mancanza di acqua fredda in doccia/vasca. Procediamo con sostituzione camera: nuova camera sempre pulizia scarsa (lo standard evidentemente era quello) inoltre troviamo degli escrementi di topo di tanto in tanto (probabilmente c'era un ospite aggiuntivo a nostra insaputa). Il personale è molto gentile e disponibile, il problema è che sono davvero lenti e non capiscono l'inglese (abbiamo aspettato un giorno interno per un telecomando malfunzionante del condizionatore). Struttura: in generale poco manutenuta e in disordine. un vero peccato perchè gli edifici sono belli (non nuovissimi) basterebbe tenerli meglio. Ristoranti "buoni", l'Edge Water decisamente meglio ma gli orari di apertura non venivano rispettati (chiusura alle 22.00 in realtà alle 21.30 chiudevano già). Attenzione ai taxi: hanno provato a prenderci 1000RS in accordo con il personale dell'hotel (per una tratta di meno di 1 km); erano palesemente d'accordo (uno diceva una cifra e uno un'altra. Inoltre il taxi ci ha portano solo al ritorno mentre all'andata ci ha portato uno dell'hotel..insomma un po' di casino..ci hanno provato!!) Mauritius bellissima, ci torneremo ma NON qui.

My partner and I stayed at the Outrigger Beach Resort from mid-late January. Overall we enjoyed our time both in Mauritius and at the hotel, but there are a few things I think it is important to note about the hotel if you’re planning on staying there. 1. It didn’t feel 5* to us. Possibly when it was newly constructed it might’ve passed as one but many areas are in need of renovation and updates - from the tired rooms and bathrooms to the lobby and guest toilets. Lower your expectations before arriving. 2. It is expensive! I believe this might just be a Mauritius thing in general and not just this hotel but something to be mindful of. Food and drink aren’t cheap and more expensive than the UK. For example a soft drink (e.g. Coca Cola) is around £3.50 - £4 for a small glass. Plan extra spending money, even if you’re on an all inclusive package (there are extra charges for quite a few meals/drinks). 3. The food and drinks aren’t 5* quality. The buffet is okay, lots of choice and some good dishes but can be hit and miss and repetitive. Not worth the money in our opinion but choices outside the hotel are limited from what we could tell, although we didn’t explore the local area much due to rainy weather conditions. 4. Pack a LOT of suncream, and when you think you’ve got enough pack some more. You can buy it from the hotel shop but it will set you back £35 . 5. The beach and pool area are genuinely the best part of this hotel. If you like snorkelling you’ll be just fine with

Overall it was a good stay. Breakfast was good, dinner had some really good tasting options and some not so good. If I had to change one thing it would ne for the walkways to be concrete instead of sand. The walkways would get muddy and also it means you always got sand in your shoes even when dressing up for dinner.

Great value for the money! Outrigger was a pleasant stay for us. We had half board and the dinners were excellent, great food! Drinks albeit a bit pricy but it’s an island.. The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. The beach was lovely and the veiws stunning. Plenty of activities like petanque and kayaks. I read the negative reviews before choosing this hotel - which I’m glad I didn’t take any further notice on. Yes the facilities are not super updated but they are fresh and rooms are well cleaned and you don’t even think about that while you’re there because everything else is great and peaceful.

Impeccable!
What a beautiful resort with top notch, friendly service, unbeatable food, excellent activities and facilities, and an incredible beach. We were taken the best care of by the staff, and especially Kunal from the Plantation Club who went out of his way to make our stay memorable, including making custom and delicious cocktails for us, and Vashil from Mercado. Thanks for the unforgettable time! We appreciated and loved being here.

Séjour en famille parfait !
L’ensemble du personnel de l’hôtel est top et au petit soin ! Nous revenons d’un séjour magnifique ! La localisation de l’hôtel est top pour la découverte de l’île en voiture, la petite chambre en plus pour nos filles avec lit superposé est géniale. Les restaurants sont biens, mention spéciale à Tina pour le petit déjeuner !!! La plage, la piscine nickel. Et le kids club parfait ! Alors oui, l’hôtel manque un peu de finitions dans le détail, mais cela n’entrave en rien la qualité du séjour. Nous recommandons à 100 % !

Notre séjour a Outrigger Resort fût merveilleux et inoubliable ! D'autant plus que nous étions en lune de miel qui restera gravés ! Voici ce que nous avons apprécies : - Le personnel et la qualité de service irréprochable - Les restaurants nous ont servit des plats gustative et gouteux avec des produits frais. - La chambre réservé (Chambre lit double avec vue sur la plage) était bien équipés. Chambre discrète et confortable. - Le personnel du SPA nous à bien accueil et était à l'écoute en fonction de nos besoins et de nos attentes - Le Resort est très grand avec nombreux équipements - La piscine principal est grande, situé sur une belle vue sur la mer, avec une bonne température Au final, je peux vous garantir que vous passeriez un merveilleux séjour à Outrigger resort. La qualité et le service est conforme à un 5 étoiles !

Was in 1 woord fantastisch! Vanaf de eerste minuut voelden wij ons daar thuis. De werknemers zijn er ontzettend behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Niks is teveel gevraagd. Is een paradijs. Wij hebben er een onvergetelijke vakantie beleefd. Wij gaan zeker nog eens terug!

Lovely Christmas Eve with great live music and breathtaking sunsets! But a bit a weird architechture, kind of castle style, with flying bats... when cloudy, feels a bit like in a vampire movie ;)

Schönes Hotel mit perfekter Lage.
Die Lage des Hotels ist schon sehr gut. Ebenfalls ist das Hotel sehr gepflegt und sauber, der Service ist sehr gut, das Essen lecker, es hat seinen Preis. Man kann sich gut erholen und es lohnt sich, mal dort gewesen zu sein.

We love staying at Outrigger - the place needs a bit of an update in general - new aircons in the rooms and gym - but the staff is worth everything else! Thanks to Roby, Jarvin, Hans, Xavier, Grenadine, Angelique, Shambam and the Kids Club - as long as the staff stays we will come back :0)

Jnkn verran epäsiisti yleisvaikutelma (vanha ja kulunut) huone siivoojien työtilan vieressä, aloittivat jo ennen seitsemää puhumisen ja kolistelun, suihku vuosi läpi vuorokauden, ei korjattu ja suihku putosi toistuvasti pidikkeestään, ruoka oli mautonta ja päivästä toiseen samanlaista yhtä poikkeusta lukuunottamatta, josta maksoimme lisämaksun. Muutoinkin ruoka oli ylihintaista laatuun nähden. Baggage-huonetta ei ollut ja lähtöpäivän suihkutilat huonot.
