My wife and I ended our recent Europe holiday with a four night stay at the View Cottage. How smart we were to do so! After three weeks of travel, the View was the special kick-back respite we desired before traveling home. Everything was just as advertised, and from the moment we arrived and walked to the front door, we were absolutely taken with the beautiful, frankly idyllic, pastoral setting and sense of peace and beauty. The Cottage itself was very nicely appointed, and we found no instance when we needed anything that was not provided. We made breakfast each morning and enjoyed it on the terrace while taking in the vistas and surrounding nature. Local dining was a three minute drive, and excellent; day trips to Bath and the Cotswalds were easy and fun. As mentioned on the website for the View Cottage, there is opportunity to fly fish Midford Brook that flows through the hosts larger property below the Cottage. I made no early arrangement to fish, and had zero fishing equipment, but thought I would inquire nevertheless. Our hosts, Ann, Michael and Nikki, responded quickly, and within two days I had a permit and the essential gear to fish Midford Brook on my 65th birthday. It was a superior day, including caught rainbow trout! Ann, Michael and Nikki are wonderful hosts, and each of them went above and beyond to help make our visit special. We simply cannot say enough about how ideal our stay was at the View Cottage, and if I had my way we would be there still...
