Our room was very cold when we arrived, and this was due to the windows being left open until our late arrival. After informing about this, there was no way they could turn up the temperature in the room, because the ventilation system was in winter mode?! Also the water pressure in the shower was terrible, and a bad smell came from the shower at all times.
We also booked a spa treatment, because a spa hotel was what we were looking for for this weekendgetaway. The pool was cold, the rooms small and in the steambath there were missing tiles, and a smell of sour water (old water?). The treatment was a clay treatment, where we had to put the clay on ourselves in a bathroom, and sit in a steamroom for 40 min. This room wasn't even warm. The following full body massages were good.
We booked a Junior Suite which seems like it had seen it's fair portion of parties the last decade. Did not make it better that our room was facing the biggest traffic X-point in the whole of Riga. Due to our late arrival we were given a room on first floor. If you drink enough you will have the chance of not having sleepless nights.
All in all, this hotel is not a five star hotel, and the spa isn't even close to what a five star spa hotel should have.
