The location was good, the public transportation was only a block or so away which was convenient. It was a very cute building, but definitely in need of TLC. We were frustrated to have to locate the other hotel for check in as nothing leading up to our arrival indicated we wouldn’t be able to at the property. Once we arrived to the room, I was assaulted with a musty, dusty, old smell. Initially I attributed this to the age of the building. The drapes had obvious water marks on them, I imagine the balcony doors leak when the rain starts blowing around. Further evidenced by the bucking of the wooden floor under the drapes. I had to move the nightstand to plug in something and was appalled at the amount of dust caked on the baseboard. Going to shower was exciting. There was hair on the wall of the shower from a previous guest. The water did not drain and I had to stand in shower water which is a huge pet peeve of mine. Overall, it wasn’t enough for me to walk away from, but I have no intentions of staying here the next time I come to town.
